I can’t get my head round the size of this garden - we are in UK - most gardens are postage stamp size!! Not surprised it became overgrown. Good luck all, well done!
Surprised to see how big this garden is! No wonder the lady of the house couldn't manage it. You have done an amazing job, and have worked so hard. Judging by the plants you are uncovering, someone loved and cared for it once upon a time. Hopefully she and her family will be able to enjoy it and perhaps also engage in the pleasure and satisfaction of gardening; hard, back-breaking work, but so, so satisfying! When I stumbled across your video yesterday where you started on the back garden, I thought you were going to come face to face with a Yeti! All the best to you, lads, and keep up the good work. x
HOW MUCH MORE GARDEN CAN THERE BE??? This is crazy, glad you're helping her out with this, cause ain't no way a single parent would have had the time to do anything about all of that
I’m a newbie subscriber and am enthralled that there are still some who are willing to give time, skills and determined hard work without payment but rather to help someone who has struggled to tackle the task, poor thing it must have been overwhelming for her. …. Your channel has made me feel much better about the society and other human beings. As a keen gardener, what an incredible canvas to develop and design over time. Thank you for being such a generous person and for making me laugh out loud, you are a truly a tonic xxx
There are a lot of unfair comments here when Alex is working FOR FREE! He said he was working in the morning (at his paid job, I expect) so if he wants to make 20 episodes with this garden why shouldn't he!! I for one, have subscribed just because the algorithm has sent me to this garden! The garden hasn't seen the light of day for years and that side of the garden is probably the neighbour's responsibility so why haven't they done something about the fence? and why should Alex?? There are other comments aimed at the home owner, who doesn't look very old, I just hope she makes an effort to keep up the garden. I have struggled with my weight for years and gardening is one of the best forms of exercise that gives a great feeling of satisfaction so I hope she doesn't let all Alex's hard FREE work go to waste!
Our garden is nowhere near this size but it takes a lot of work and time to keep it under control, and a lot of money to do anything like fences, plants grass seed etc with such a huge area. it’s no surprise this place has gotten so overgrown.
That little T Rex has made a good prop. Thank you to your friend Curtis for being willing to come by and help out. At 7:32, the view back to the building actually shows that the neighbors are going to have a nice new view as well. It wasn't even faintly possible to guess what that property was intended to look like. The counter on the powered shears was interesting. They have been such a work relief for people and the count shows it, far less strain when working on difficult/intensive jobs. The Weedee Pro was impressive. That patio was apparently a major feature in the garden at one time but had disappeared under accumulated litter. A small greenhouse and patio could have been likely, with all the garden space and someone who loved to garden. I like the brush work on the upper patio as well. It is evening the color, cleaning, improving the appearance. The recovery of the red brick door steps was nice.
I bet you there is a path from the steps to that patio. Can’t wait to see the next installment of this series. It was nice to meet Curtis. Nice toys you guys have. Great job on the progress you have done so far!
I wish you guys could come to south Wales and help my 90+ year old neighbour out. She is bed bound and her garden is an absolute jungle. I feel so sad for her as her bed is downstairs by the window that looks out onto the garden. I try and do what I can, sweep paths etc but I'm not fit or able enough to cut it all down for her. You do such a fab job, I love your videos.
The yard is surprisingly long, what a shock to discover how it just keeps going on and on, haha. Clearly someone once loved this yard and had a nice shed or greenhouse back there. Now that the patio blocks and cement slab have been discovered/cleaned up, I hope the homeowner enjoys some relax time back there as it seems to be a very peaceful spot. Steps and patio to house also cleaned up beautifully. You guys are so very kind. Yes, dental care is very important, haha! I think you've found your new logo mascot instead of the pretty bird - kidding!
Imagine you grow up in a house and someday - pouf! - you suddenly have a garden that's so big it can almost be called a PARK!! Mind blowing. And imagine how beautiful it would be if one of that single mother's kids was into plants and got into gardening, wouldn't that be great?
Although I agree it would be rude to not mention this We don’t actually know what was in their conversations she could’ve mentioned it and he just forgot she could have forgotten just how huge her garden was and underestimated it, we just don’t know. In the end I think as long as he’s ok with doing the work then we don’t really have a say in his choices
@@DonnaDaughertygps doesn’t she also say something like “but I haven’t seen it in forever and forgot” Also just because we saw that one interaction doesn’t mean that was their only interaction talking about her yard I was talking mainly about before he ever even started the job cuz I assume they had to have a conversation of him being allowed to do this first before he could actually mow shit down and what not

What a piece of property this woman was sitting on! I really hope she and her children enjoy it now. Hiring a landscaper once a year will probably keep it in check. 🤞
I doubt it. If she let it go this long, she won't do anything in the future. I predict a year from now it'll look again pretty much like it did in the beginning, maybe a little less so, but similar.
Excellent job guys!! The kids will be able to actually play and utilize their backyard now!!!! Such a kind thing these men are doing for this family!!! 👏👏👏
@minkgin3370 Well, aren't we a negative Nancy. I assumed, by the title of the video, that a single mom means she has children. And if you watch any other yard channels you'd see a LOT of yards that belong to single moms, WITH SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN, that are in a lot worse state than this one and the children were unable to play/utilize it. I was simply making an observation. If they're grown children, then they can still utilize it like my post stated. Try to spread some joy instead, why don't ya!!
Indeed! I'm quite curious as to what the lot plan shows. What a strange, long and narrow lot it is. Seems the end fence wasn't hinted at before because it's just chain link. Could be a lot of fun for a dedicated gardener, but I'm not sure it won't revert to brambles.
Good god, man!... you really need 2 Gary's, and 2 of you just imagine the banter it would be in surround sound 😂 great work out for you and the garden.

Wow!!of all the garden transformations I’ve watched, this is the first for this machine. Cleaned that patio really well. Two handsome guys doing hard work for this deserving lady. Thanks to both. ❤❤

It is so good to see you happily working on a project. I've missed your vigor and joy in your work. I wish you the best going forward. I've always enjoyed learning more about plants and your work. Take care, Becky 🎉
With T the Rex and the wierdly creepy doll's house, i see the beginnings of an interesting halloween movie😂 As always, blessings and support for the work you do🎉
That is some machine CJ has. Makes short work out of that patio or garage or whatever it was. Had quite the layer of dirt that you would have had to shovel. Great job!
Incredible work by both of you ✅✅ this backyard is long and wide enough to build so many things. Hope she will get some ideas, yes it will cost some money. I would create a garden house for veggies and spices, an outdoor summer veranda with a fishpond and fountain, decorate the patio ground with mosaic tiles, and even a tree house for her kids!!! There its ample space for all of it. It all depends if she can appreciate such things or prefers to just chuck a barbecue on the corner somewhere.
At 76 ( and been clumsy since I was a little girl) I have never trusted MySQL with even a battery chainsaw, however have lost some strength in my hands for pruning so bought myself the lovely little still mini saw. Awesome and with the chain guard pretty safe absolutely love it 😊😊
Brilliant work as usual , what a difference & what a surprise of a large garden, I hope the tenant of the property can use the gardens potential now you have cleared it for her well done guys ♥️👍

OMG...that garden is huge! Never expected to see it going that far back. Did the owner really ever see its full size? You did a great job! And also huge thanks to the other helping hands! I used to watch other channels before, but most of them are American. Those gardens and backyards are another world. 🫣 Can more identify with the ones you are working on. 😉 Looks like I have quite a lot to watch and catch up with. 😊
Well that was an interesting machine to clean off the concrete. Don't believe I've seen one before now. Looks super great! Who knew all that was there?? Well done🎉!
