I think I would’ve left the height on some of the shrubs at the back of the garden. They afford privacy from the overlooking houses. I guess they’ll regrow. That’s what I love - and hate - about keeping a garden!😊
Guys, I can see what it was about this garden that 'caught your eye' and hearts as you worked to tidy it up. The final view was absolutely lovely but what really got to me was the care and heart you showed towards the bullied flowers, taking away the offenders and leaving the glory of beauty. Love your attention to detail, kneeling down and pulling out the weeds in the pavers. It looked a very big job with what you had to do, thank you both, good workers, from Geelong, Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺

That was a wonderful transformation to watch. Extra points for painstakingly pulling all that twitch out of the beds. I have a similar issue with ground elder, one small piece left behind and boom its back ten fold. My philosophy of gardening: take no prisoners when it comes to weeding, trimming, removing, pruning, and clearing. Some double-hammered brown mulch would have been a nice touch to the cleared soil areas (visually pleasing and an effective preventative to future weeds). This garden now has been given permission to flourish. The key will be regular upkeep. Easy-to-maintain urns placed here and there with colorful annuals would add a finishing touch. An awesome video.
