As always....you demonstrate what a hard worker you are & no, no one said gardening wasn't hard work! Not after watching you. Can't wait for the next installment. 💚
Hi Alex from Western Australia. Negotiation should always be first, I think and the Ivy (personally hate the plant) will strangle, kill the trees and might fall over in a big storm. This garden is a garden of discovery, at least the spiders aren’t Australian spiders 😮. You don’t need to go to the gym, this garden is a muscle builder. Fantastic work you’re doing. Keep well. Lynn.
I honestly realize the amount of really hard work you are doing to try and make this look better. If I were doing it, everything would be cut to the ground and start over with quality garden plan. Everything there is basically over grow and not worth the effort to make it look great again. JMHO Thumbs Up!
That was some serious hard graft, well done Alex. The whole area looks so much better than it was when you guys started on it, amazing the amount of garden they’ll get back once it’s cleared & you get the tree work done. Now have a relaxed weekend, rest your back! 😺
I am right there with you. I am in Southern BC Canada and the bane of my existence is pine needles. 40 billion of them in my yard. Good news is that all I have to do is rake them. No digging out required although I did think English Ivy was a good idea a few years ago. Not! It took over and I'm still ripping it out. Thanks for the tips on how best to tackle the stuff. It is pretty and green but INVASIVE for sure. Thanks for the awesome videos. Really enjoy how you do your job. It really is an art. Hard work, but stunning results. Cheers!
This video is great, it's made me realise how much work I've done as I was feeling like I wasn't getting anywhere. My 90 year old mum has a 120foot garden that hasn't been touched for twenty years, and I've been attempting to landscape it and make it accessible for her. I discovered she had put down black membrane years ago which she'd then covered in old tiles and stones and general rubbish, and it's been one hell of a job to get half a foot of heavy rubbish and soil off a membrane so I could pull it out. Underneath was masses of bindweed.
My neighbour had ivy growing on his side and he refused to maintain it. I hated it on my side as it would suffocate my garden. So one time I cut it ALL back. Every single bit of it on my side of the fence. Neighbour watched me do it too. Then started getting upset a few days later when he noticed it dying on his side. It was an invasive species and was told by the town to kill it off and dog it up but he refused. I just kept cutting it back. Last year we built a huge privacy fence and he finally dug up all the ivy and burned it
Hi Alex, Wow, that is Some Massive Ivy, You did a Great Job for only 1 person!! Yes will be waiting for the Next Video of you Continuing your Journey of of this Owner`s yard after the complaint!! It may take you 2 more parts to finish it! Take care & Be safe, & have a Lovely Weekend with your Family, Love from Central Illinois America🥰😎✌❤
You must be so sore. That is an intense workout. I admire your work ethic. Most landscapers would either refuse the job or start it and just give up. You are truly tenacious and are an an inspiration. I am sure that the owners are worried about cost but in my opinion you are worth a million dollars or pounds (whichever is more)! They have to compensate you to rectify years and years of neglect. May God bless you and keep you safe and healthy.
@H⭕hmW🌐rk Your logic is so flawed 😅 if it's 1 USD = 0.82 Pounds, that means that the pound is more valuable because it takes less of it to equal the same value.
I cut back Ivey on a rent house I was living in in Tulsa. It’s a never ending battle if you don’t dig up the roots. I enjoyed doing it even though I had decided not to buy the beautiful bungalow. The Ivey had been buried there in the 60’s & the roots were as big as my arm. As long as the neighbor keeps the Ivey on the fence, it’ll be an ongoing problem. The only saving grace is that it will one day rot the fence & when they replace it, maybe they can dig it up
Major difference. Lots of hard work, but worth it. That ivy is the worst. Thanks for the tip on getting the roots out. That will help with my little problem. ❤️ can’t wait for the next video. Get some rest, and I’ll see you next time.
Appreciate your attitude towards the neighbour but the ivy is going to choke everything eventually, I was dying to cut off the first tree . Great work . Followed the series and watched in amazement as garden gradually reappeared. Looking forward to next instalment.
This is the most disgusted I’ve ever heard you on a job site. This one really got to you; and I see why. I don’t think this garden was ever maintained. You’ve certainly put your heart & soul into this one. 😊❤
This reminds me of cleaning up vines for 3 weeks in the backyard. They still emerge sometimes but instantly pull them. Crazy how fast they can take over a yard.
I consider ivy a weed. It climbs all over fences, trees, even up the side of our house if we let it. It can look quite pretty and it’s fine if you want a jungle in the back garden but it will strangle things and become a part of / destroy a fence. Species like this are a problem when two neighbours have opposing views because such species do not respect boundaries.
As someone who has been battling English Ivy, blackberries (or brambles as you call them), and Holly for years in my steep garden in Victoria Australia, I really feel for you! Though to be honest I'm resentful that these plants were imported in the first place. They are all terrible invasive here. especially the brambles. and don't get me started on thistles- I have had to face thistles as big as Christmas trees - truly! over 5 ft tall, and those thorns!
HI Alex, you've got a christmas dilemma "the holly and the ivy", where's your partner in crime? Some good fire wood there. Maybe if you trim too much ivy the fence will collapse. Then I'm thinking if you turf that area that will require ongoing maintenance, perhaps better for the owner to leave it bare or to mulch it with a really thick layer of wood chips, as for gardening not being a work out can have only been said by someone who has never done it, 🥰🥵👍💪🐦great effort cheers!!
Wow! What a job! .....I’m thinking I don’t like ivy....don’t know if we have it here, but I know I don’t want it now ! You will persevere! 👊🏼 - watching from Lake Wales, Florida
