- Eine kleine Nachmusik, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's famous composition (Serenade No. 13 for strings in G major), K. 525, in a nice piano transcription by Matthew Cameron (first recorded by Cyprien Katsaris) - so far only the 1st movement.

This is obviously work in progress! I'll study this more thoroughly and re-record as soon as I have more time.

What makes this video so great is not only your fantastic ability to play, but the pure joy on your face. It shows how much you care and the deep emotions you feel, and the joy. All the time I see people playing with straight, bored faces, and they look like they don't care. Fantastic video!

That's a challenging arrangement, but you played it superbly. I started clapping on the morning of April 26th 2013 when I watched this video. It's now July 2018, and I'm still clapping.

Thank you for the joy in your playing! I was trying to explain to my 7 year old piano student that this was a joyous piece which she didn't understand. I came across your video and the joy in your face as well as playing changed her interpretation of the piece. Granted hers is a beginner's version of it, but the happiness should still be there. Absolutely astonishing, while there are very minor issues, this is breath-taking and inspiring. I am studying a simplified version of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, and this has inspired me to work harder at it. Ignore the hateful comments, this is brilliant work and I could only dream of playing this well- the final touch of your artwork is how much you are enjoying playing it. Thank you for sharing this.

Just learning to play but I've been pretty into it. I never have liked these upbeat songs before, more Satie and Chopin, but now that I am learning to play, they look like a lot more fun.

I have been a great fan since my dad was into classical music I think I have the bug even though I love heavy metal to this day. I love deep purple black sabbath etc etc.,but I love listening to classical music. I have been well impressed by this piece of music. My dad and I were into carl orff and all classical music even though my mum didn't like the music

I've tried to play this piece in piano and is hell of a piece, so many difficult jumps on left hand and close notes, normally its played with 4 hands to ease this, so props on being able to play it on 2hands
im going to learn this one after summer vacation. im so exited! never thought id learn such an amazing piece

Good job already Tobias ! There are some technical issues, I am sure you know where they all are. One thing that bothered me are your tempo fluctuations, for example the beginning of the repeat of the first part is much faster that what went on just before, where you had slowed down considerably. I think a rock solid tempo is a requisite here.
Are you aiming to do all movements ? None of them sound easy but the finale sounds an absolute killer !
***** Ah, I did not see this was already an older recording. No doubt it would be much better now. No I don't play this one. I briefly considered it after hearing Katsaris' first movement, but after hearing the finale, I thought better of it. Gotta know and accept one's limits :D
How did you fare at that competition in France ?
***** Congratulations with your competition victory !!! To win even an amateur contest is no mean feat these days. Have you tried the organ before ? It's wise to take lessons from the start in order not to learn bad habits. You don't want people to say you play the organ like a pianist ;-) I've not played since I moved 2.5 years ago. Still lobbying for access to an organ.
