Yep, love the Viggen. It adds some weight but I always build mine with a traditional 2 layer wing with a spar, and also double up the vertical stab. Makes it last longer and not warp.
Frsky Tandem XE. I do a series on how to program on that radio. Awesome radio with lots of power. When using a Tandem receiver, the radio transmits on 2.4ghz and 915mhz at the same time. Radio hits and signal loss is non-existent with this setup. The XE is a tray type radio that only works if you pinch. If you use thumbs, a Frsky Tandem X20 or X18 would be better.
There is so many edf jets available, from me-262 to the 6th generation, but WHY there is not any Saab Viggens available? Palane looks great, and it is maybe the best edf for the beginners?
Agreed... its a great flying plane. Would love to see an 80mm scale viggen come out. Beginner edf? Yeah, possibly with the rates turned way down and with throttle control.
Collin (my friend who brought these out to the field and introduced us to the ft viggen) got inspired and put a thrust vector nozzle on it. He tried it out today... it was awesome! Flat spins were nice and flat. Hovers were now possible. It's a great mod for these planes. Not sure if I'll put the nozzle on or build out a rudder yet
Basic, nothing fancy. 70mm edf, 4s battery and no gyro. I've since added a thrust vector nozzle. Added a lot of weight in the tail. Doesn't fly as stable as in that video anymore. But it sure is wilder now. Inverted flat spins like a spinning top. Loops in it's length and barely controllable hovers. I'm honestly not sure if I like it better with it without thrust vector. I've rebuilt and destroyed that plane several times to the point where it really isn't repairable. Luckily flight test came out with a V2... Next plane on my build list. Still not sure if I'll build with it without thrust vectoring
@@all_rc thanks to your video i'm going to build it, i really appreciate the vectored thrust advice, very useful info, i will start basic. very cool to see an edf jet flying so slow, is relaxing and fun
Perhaps the only true "park flyer" non-umx EDF. Absolutely love mine, and at some point plan to build a V2 (70mm 6s 1500).
I just got the v2 viggen speed build kit from Flite test. So easy assemble ! The wing doubler is a great improvement over old design.
Version 2 is already out on Flite Test site. They released a video of V2 FT Viggen.
Still have mine quick build and LOVE it !
Viggen is the most beautiful jet still! 😍

Yeah belly landing on wet grass does a number on the plane. Still flies but I might do what you are talking about on the next build
LOVE IT!!!!
What brand and model radio are you using. Thanks.

Now I want one 😢.

Yes! Canards makes it almost imbossible to stall. My FT Viggen weight is 1300g and its just float around in the high alpha😅@@all_rc
I'd extend the vertical stab back and make the rudder extend down to the thrustline. Best of both worlds.

& that's y it's discontinued. It's too good!
All the good ones get discontinued!
that is CGI fake video, XD nah is a cool plane, what is your setup?
