Just bought your pattern last night. Im hoping to make a run to my localish Tandy's to get everything i need. this will be my first project. glad someone asked about the backing, that was my first question..
That's great. Thanks for letting me know. You can also use acrylic resolane from Fiebing's as a finish. This is good waterproof finish for this project. All the best.
Hi I purchased your pattern to make a xmas present I am not a seller of things I make just enjoy working with leather. Can you tell what is the thread you used please, name, type and thickness?
Is the top coaster leather in brown the same weight as the bottom leather in black making it also 4mm total. Or do you shoot for 2.4mm total for the coasters?

Hi.
No problem.
Waxed slam, thickness 1mm.
Good stuff, would make a great gift. I'll get the pattern thanks
Thanks Percy.
That's right. First time I made this coasters set for my mother as Christmas gift.

Leather 2.4mm. Thickness of every finished coaster is approx.4.8mm-5mm.
How do you recommend finishing the leather so that it's waterproof?
Resolane from Fiebings.
Are you just using black leather as the backing of is that some kind of rubber?
Yes.
This is black leather.
What are you using on the leather when your rubbing @ 2:15
candle wax and felt
What type of rubber did you use for the bottoms and where can we get it, or is it leather also?
This is vegetable leather, just in black colour but you have a good idea.
Oak Leathercraft thanks
Nice work, it's just a pity not to show in more detail how to thread the thread to sew.
Title of this video isn't ''how to thread the thread to sew''. Title of this video is ''Making Leather Coaster Set''.
Long live, and can't you explain how to pass the thread to sew?
