Damn this video is growing crazy fast at the moment, thank you all so much 😊. Let me know what other games you would like to see recreated by replying to this comment
Praise the algorithmn!
thanks!!!
Try The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Blood Omen: the Legacy of Kain. Really old one :)
But TES: Morrowind will be perfect too
Don't backup, better is to use svn or git
Interesting project. The Witcher 1 is my most favourite from the series because it's closest to the books imo. One of the best things about the game is atmosphere and you kinda ruined it with the soundtrack from The Witcher 3. Why not use soundtrack that plays in Temple Quarter? Also the whole quarter feels gloomy and gritty because of the weather so it's a shame that you used this sunny scene. Don't get me wrong I don't want to seem like a hater. I'm glad that The Witcher 1 is getting the love and attention that it deserves. I just roll my eyes everytime when I see someone mentioning remake of The Witcher 1. First of all it's a damn good game and people are just spoiled by modern games so they're put of by "janky" controls. Also, you can ruin that great atmosphere really easily if you're not careful and you don't know what made the game great in the first place. I think that capturing the magic of the first game would be extremely hard.
If one person can do this in unity just imagine what a whole team could do! Cmon CDProjekt remake Witcher 1
Dont fix what is not broken. Did you se the remake of POP sands of time. i dont want that to happen to this game.
@@dipanshuphukan1416 Witcher 1 its a Broken game, poor graphics, terrible gameplay. Needs a remake.
Cd Projek red is not ubisoft.
@@dipanshuphukan1416 witcher 1 is the 1st game they made. It’s broken and not that well received.
@@metroplex29 So Half life 1 is also a broken game because it has poor graphics? Gameplay is good, combat is tricky and many people dont enjoy it because its not Just Lmb spam
@@metroplex29 its not broken whats broken about it. the combat is good the graphics are good for that time. me personally just like how old game looks sure a remake would make more people play though the story and id like a remake love to see how it would look. but it wouldn’t be the same thing there is a serten charm to old games you just dont see it. Some people just can’t play old games and thats fine. Do you know TES 3 morrowind old game 2002 but its great. it looks old and it is but that overshadowed by how great the game is game play is nice not like TES 5 Skyrim or the The Witcher 3 but its unique. Well back on topic if you have played The Witcher 1 and want to play it try to see the good things a new fresh start with a new fresh mindset if you can do that it will work if you can’t do that that’s fine maybe try to come back to it maybe in 1 2 or 3 years or play some other old game like Morrowind if you like the elder scrolls games. But all i can say is that only a new mindset will work a FRESH one one can look at old and say it might have flaws but there many other great things about it im glad that can do this cus old game are great try doing it or not just great advise to anyone.
15 mins in I was like: damn, I wonder how many millions of views this vid has. I gotta say I'm disappointed, it deserves many more. This vid is amazing, job well done my dude

@@TXRXL. in mine too. Let's hope. Though given that I googled Blender like a week ago and given that google and youtube know that I'm a huge witcher fan it might be targeted. The youtuber definitely deserves it.
WE NEED A REMAKE OF WITCHER 1. THIS GAME HAVE A PHENOMENAL STORY
Agreed. And with a better Combat System.
@@primeautism2355 it’s fun when you get use to it

And if 2 is like 3 , then I guess I threw away even more money , than I thought. The combat is trash, and the game is full of dickjokes. I've played witcher 1, for 17.2 hours , you mong.
brilliant efforts, now back it up. * toss a coin to the sketcher*
Haha, thanks :D
What I learned from modding gothic long ago is that when making medieval stuff always add noise to flat surfaces and distort them in a way that makes them never completely perpendicular to camera.
That's great advice, I'll keep that in mind next time I'm modelling, thanks
FINALLY, someone that explains their process in a simplistic way to get to the end product but actually understand what they're doing
witcher 1 is still my favorites despite playing the three of them, its atmosphere and introduction to the witcher it was so good that it had a mark on me, i know many people may trash on it and how not good it is comparing to the other two games
I kinda agree, the atmosphere was the best out of all 3. The gameplay might've sucked, looking at you combat, but the music and tone were perfect. I wound up playing it on easy so I could just enjoy the good bits without being dragged down by the gameplay.
It looks amazing, how many hours did you have to spend on this?

jeez mate, i can't even imagine putting an effort like this even if i'm being paid, the place really has witcher vibes
Damn, you are just wonderful, love the humour and editing style, keep it up, and you will shoot above 100k in no time. Very interesting vid btw...
Oh yeah, i want you to imagine something, Imagine 16000 people infront of you irl while your on a stage, shit, thats insane
Waow I wan’t have the skill to do that ! (Really, it’s beautiful !)
Thanks I really appreciate it :)
This looks insane ! I loved this game and playing a version with those graphics would be amazing !
Would love a technical video about the whole workflow & process, I already sent this video to a few people as a kind-of-workflow-reference but a dedicated video on the topic would be some quality material :D
Thanks. Yeah I'll for sure release a more technical video :)
Wow that's amazing! I feel like it's illegal for this video to have this small amount of views. Keep it up man, really great work.
It's so cool! Truly fascinating! Wish you a lot inspiration for your next projects 👍🏻
Video’s epic, but I loved when you searched Google on Google.
TW3: WH is the first, and only game I’ve played in the series...and I absolutely love it!
Great job!! Thx for sharing
This deserves so many more views. Witcher 1 is still my favourite of the series.
Amazing work, man! That Geralt bid left me in tears! :D
I would love to see you recreate the sewage system in vizima. That was my fave location in w1
Thanks for the suggestion :D
Wow... what an amazing project, you are just amazing, you are such a talented designer!
I picked this game up 2 weeks ago and I love it. I havent enjoyed an rpg like this in forever. It makes me ultra excited to play the 2nd and 3rd one.
SKETCH: I know UA-cam doesn't reward you as well as it should for your efforts, but just know that I can see how much effort and time went into this. It's truly epic. Nice work
This is an incredibly impressive job for one person, good job! .I think the low viewership is due to the thumbnail, as this appeared in my recommended and I avoided it for a while because I thought it was just another low effort meme, I'm sure many other people avoided clicking for a similar reason, I would strongly recommend changing the thumbnail to something more indicative of the quality of this video
I can see that, I guess I should remove the Geralt head, haha
@@sketch3436 I can honestly say I clicked this because I saw the current thumbnail, the environment, and it looked really good. So, the new thumbnail is working!
Amazing man, it still gives me goosebumps when I hear the Witcher music, and thanks for creating this wonderful scenery from Witcher 1 which I haven't yet played.
Great job man! Very impressive. I've taken a bunch of unity tutorials and an no where near being able to do anything like this!
Thanks, I really appreciate it. It's just a lot of practice to improve skills like this, there isn't necessarily a specific structure to follow which is what makes it hard if your trying to learn.
Awesome talent! Your character model doesn't look too shabby either :) but you need ambient occlusion ... your cups look like they're floating.
I played through the Witcher 1 a few months ago, this is so awesome!
Thanks I really appreciate it :)
I don’t know a thing about 3D modeling, but was I fascinated! Criminally underrated work as folks have already pointed out below. Ur approach is meticulous, ty mate. P.S. Yes, I deem the Witcher 1 to be the greatest out of all the series ;p
Dude you're a boss!! I'd pay you for a witcher 1 remaster
Haha, thanks :D
Finally UA-cam recommended me something decent , not some 30 second memes .
Nice job. Enjoyed every minute even though I never played first Witcher neither I make games myself .
What an underrated gem is Witcher 1, it was my first game in the series and totally loved it.
You're pretty entertaining, on top of good editing and all the effort that this entire thing took. Got some laughs out of me.
This was a really well-done video! I enjoyed it a lot! 😊 Part modelling, part level-design, part Witcher breakdown.
That's awesome to hear, thanks :D
As someone who just finished my second university exam on game music and interactive audio, I appreciate the mention about it's importance. Great work. Cheers!
One of the coolest things I've seen wonderful job!
Thanks, I really appreciate it :)
So glad this appeared in my feed! This video is a beautiful showcase but also extremely informative and gave me a few ideas that I want to try out now! :)
I saw a video on assassins creed where they procedurally generated buildings, by making prefabs for 1 storey or roof type, and then stacked them with a code.
Yeah I've seen that video as well if I planned to recreate the entirety of the city I would have tried to get something like that working although for this small section individually modelling each house was fine :)
Link?
@@STARWARSvagi not sure I know, its a making of video though, official.
Dude your Witcher looked actually cool, he looked different of course, but imo you nailed it.
I'm blown away. That's some amazing work. You nailed it!
...and I feel like a failure in comparison...
Thanks I really appreciate :D
Man, so many great quests down there in the slums.
Great choice!
This is simply amazing!!! You are the best!! I've started today with hdrp for my project. Upgraded and unity crashed a few times unexpectedly in the beginning. I'm really impressed with your work. Hope one day to achieve your level of realism without depending on third-party assets. :)
did you release the technical video? Are these assets available nowadays?
Congrats again!! Superb work!!!
I love the fact that you showed your workflow, very useful for enthusiasts!
What you created is awesome. But for me it doesn't give you that depressing vibe from first Witcher
Honestly the big take away i got from this is to just pick up a project and start chippin away at it. Great work man!
MAN I LOVE YOU, I LOVE THE WITCHER 1
Thanks :D
Very nice detail: the White Wolf wine from Corvo Bianco! :) Great video, thanks!
The ambient light is too warm, in northern climates everything is more blue because of the angle at which the sunshine enters the atmosphere and because of cloud coverage. Right now this looks like a desert and the bloom filter doesn't help. Best to save bloom filters for indoor environments and then only if there is a fire. The shadows are too dim or possibly the scene lacks ambient occlusion. In particular noticeable under the overhang. Some areas there should be pitch dark. The mist in the scene doesn't fit because mist is actually water vapor and the scene looks very dry. The mist right now looks like dust, but not dust that is moving with the wind but just hanging there which is very unrealistic. And finally the models are simple models with tiling textures, in substance painter it would be possible to add grit and variety to the walls, but it's understandable you wouldn't want to waste too much time on something like this. This just needs tweaked post processing, even professionals fail to understand how to get believable color and light in their games.
Thanks for the feedback, very helpful :)
The Witcher 1, 2 and 3 were all marvelous experiences to me and this video touched my heart really hard
This man really searched for Google on Google, I love it
Kudos to you man i really liked the end result. Downloaded and looked myself it looks pretty sweet.
Just incredible!
Thanks :D
This is amazing! It felt familiar but now looking better.
The first The Witcher game is my favourite in the trilogy, and one of my top, most-favourite games, right beside the first Mass Effect.
I hope you will continue your work sometime, i would really love to see how Vizima turns out, its my favourite location of all the witcher games
Beautiful work, truly amazing
Really nice work. One thing though the sky didn't match the light of the atmosphere. Apart from that it looks really good.
Oh man, they're finally remaking this for real!
The Witcher 1 have the best story of the trilogy
And has the most of the running, especially on swamps.
well, 3 it's better for me, but first was very immersive that's right, with that poor graphics they did amazing job

There is a mod for Fallout New Vegas called “Simply Uncut”, basically, it is 2 gigabytes of cut content (which is almost half of the game, it weighs about 5,5 gigabytes).
I hope something similar to Cyberpunk happens.

But great project btw. Really hit hard seeing witcher 1 in this quality... like for real I almost started to cry during the cinematic... Great job man
W1 was probably the only game when after 3 (!) playthroughs i still discovered something i didn't saw before (namely, charged attacks and the option to uncover Azar Javed). Also, it probably had the most convoluted quest tree and the most freedom of all Witcher games.
What is the uncover Azar Javed about?
@@cronicas_imemoriais tldr in chapter 2 Azar Javed kills detective which you hired, Raimond, and impersonates him. You didn't know it until the end of the chapter, where he lures you into a trap. You got two options to bust his cover, either by accidentally stumbling on corpse of real Raimond, or figuring it during autopsy quest. To do that, you need one obscure bit of information which at first seems unimportant. I finished the game twice and only on third playthrough I found that you can use this information during the autopsy and discover that detective is actually your enemy. After that YOU lure him into a trap, and it changes some circumstances of later quests.
@@quint3ssent1a oh I didn't know this was supposed to be a secret, I found about this in my first playtrough, I found fisstech (if that's how you spell it) in his house and geralt said it was weird, at this point I knew something was wrong, I don't remember exactly what I did next but I was the one to lure him to a trap
@@cronicas_imemoriais well, there are several clues that something is wrong (wolf medallion detecting magic, for example), but to expose Azar for real you need either successful autopsy or corpse of real Raimond.
@@quint3ssent1a now I remember, I bought and read a book about autopsies, so that's probably what lead me to discovering him
I never knew that I'd learn so much from this. I thought you'll just flex your skills just like the others. Imma subscribe
I watch this everyday at 7am to 7pm for my personal wellbeing

To answer your question, yeah, I'd probably suffocate if someone did that when I have a blocked nose. Let's just hope that doesn't happen

Wow the algorithm is actually recommending good content?
Just stumbled upon this video and I must say this looks amazing! Honestly it just makes me want a The Witcher 1 remake more. The game has a very good story with such interesting characters and I believe a remake would be amazing. I actually want it more than the upcoming Witcher game.
Hi Sketch, great job indeed! However, talking about reality, in quasi-medieval times, in such an environment, poor suburbs I mean, most of the buildings would be made of wood, and covered with shingles, as bricks and roof tiles were very expensive. Your work wouldn't look as spectacular, as it does, though :-)
Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it
dude keep working on this this is amazing great work hope to see more
You're actually insane
Thanks :D
Man, you with small team really can do some remake )Great work!
I know its very hard work, but still real, think about this) If i can help you, just sand me mail)
Omg it looks very great!
But I can't play it in quarantine because my laptop's battery is 💀 and no shop is open for replacement 😭
That sucks, hopefully you're able to fix your laptop soon :)
just have it plugged into the wall or something, since its just the battery
@@itpugil Some laptops won't let the GPU and CPU use their full power even on mains power without the battery inserted.. Sucks terribly!
@@MichalKobuszewski but those models are the minority though. Still hope the dude can still get to play it. The witcher games are amazing.
Amazing!
I loved the White Wolf wine (I choose the same name in my playthrough) and the Gwent cards on the table.
This video really confuses me. Kudos to you, it looks amazing, but I think I wouldn't prefer this to original witcher. Maybe it's the art direction, overcast weather, old mossy houses, and the grim atmosphere. Geralt's face was great too, not menacing and handsome like the second and the third game but a mutant freak that you should fear.
I think Geralt's face in Witcher 2 is pretty much closest to the book Geralt.. in Witcher 1 he's too, well ugly (in the books Geralt is the only one who calls his smile "ugly", most women find him attractive in the books, even so that Yenn has problems with the way some of her "friends" are looking at him) and in Witcher 3 he is too much "model" looking, too soft.. Witcher 2 is in my opinion almost perfect how would book Geralt look like
Awesome work! I love The Witcher I with all my heart and this video inspired me to play the game again. Thanks a lot!
Hey man! What are some resources/tutorials you recommend for getting started with 3D modeling?
I would recommend Blender Guru his tutorials are really good and easy to follow:
ua-cam.com/users/AndrewPPrice
try google.com and youtube.com, they have a "search" function. You can google how to use google if you only starting out.
I really want to play a Witcher 1 remake now. Respect dude. It looks so great.
Cdprojekt red now hire this guy immediately
ok this is brilliant. amazing work, mate.
Don't let those "slum" people fool you, they hawe machicolations on the inside of their walls and every window is a glass window, they are obviously filty rich.
well... i dont know witcher but maybe there is more important part of town on the other side of wall. also not just glass but all brick houses instead of mud-hay mixture as white facade or simply wood house as for more poor buildings. also when house is made out of bricks you dont need wooden parts on the outside of the house like here
This is so fantastic! I'd really like to see Witcher being re-done in Unity engine.. it's so good
I've got allergies and I've always been scared that I would suffocate if someone tried to duct tape my mouth. Maybe a more common fear than I thought?
Haha, yeah that's basically how the thought got into my head cause I always have a blocked nose cause of hay fever :(
Admire the work you've pulled out here. You deserve more subs and views and I'm sure that you're gonna get 'em. Keep up the good work!
Looks cool but everything's too clean, pristine, and 'fairy-tale-like'. The location is called "Slums" for a reason; putting some logs and broken barrels here and there doesn't convey the dark and gloomy 'feel' of the original one. It's meant to be an area of poor people and small thieves; you've got prostitutes offering their services in here. Some of those people live in houses that will most likely collapse in a few years. You've managed to recreate the layout of the place but failed to maintain the atmosphere of this unwelcoming, wet, and rotting area. Throughout the whole video, I waited for you to apply some lighting filter and change the skybox but it never happened - would have really helped. It feels more like Kingdom Come Deliverance with its bright colour palette than The Witcher 1.
Not saying that it's not an impressive job done here, but I thought I would leave some criticism to perhaps help with future projects.
This is fantastic, I played w1 a lot and I can recognize every building in your remake. Amazing job!
FIRST
Awesome Video! You deserve way more likes!
I created click bait*
far from what the title says, looks nice but not even close to realistic and also is not witcher 1 recreated, a more accurate title would be "I recreated a very small part of the witcher 1 with better graphics"
5:46 WHY! i was really hooked on your explanations. i came here to see someone build the witcher one. but your tutoring is so good and it's the first time i really understood it :D
great job guy!
Damn! That’s a mighty fine work!
Hi Sketch, great idea, and the video! You put a big amount of work, but one of the main factors of the Witcher 1 was the dark atmosphere, especially in this area, it always rainy and wanly. I feel that your environment needs more grey and dark textures, a rainy sky, and more mud because now it looks too warm, polished and reminds me of some western games.
Awesome job and tremendous dedication. Congrats !
Witcher 1 had the best atmosphere, just like it should feel, and they kept in the third game too. Second installment felt a bit alienated with forests of Flotsam, it felt like a fantasy game that's not part of the universe, but my god the progress they've made in that time was a blessing to be witness 🙏🏻 And btw, wow, mate...
5:35 So that’s what that was! I noticed that textures had a 3D look to them in some games awhile back and wondered what kind of witchcraft managed that. So cool!
Loving the addition of the Gwent cardson the table with the bottle of White Wolf :P
