- Jazz guitar legend Jim Hall sends a greeting and tribute to fellow jazz guitar legend Ed Bickert. The video originally premiered at Glenn Gould Studio, Toronto, on November 6th, 2012, for the concert "Ed Bickert At 80 ~ A Jazz Celebration." Jim was unable to come to Toronto so he sent this poignant and funny message to his old friend, Ed. The audience was entirely captivated and delighted by Jim's presence and tales. For all jazz fans, please enjoy more about that concert that was recorded for broadcast on CBC Radio 2's Canada Live! visit music.cbc.ca/#/...

Such a generous tribute from one master guitar player to another. Jim was so very modest and self-effacing.
THX so much ED & JIM !!
As always, a true gentleman. One legend acknowledges another.
This is why they are two of my favorite musicians, ever.
Happy Birthday Ed.
Ed and I made a tape for Jim who carried it with him when travelling. He loved it.

That says it all --- legendary guitar player --- paying tribute to another legendary guitar player --- thnx for all the great music Ed. !!!!!
The guitar talent in Canada is quite impressive. Many of these geniuses are hardly household names but that doesn't mean that they don't belong in the pantheon of the greats.
Amen! to that, golds04. Amen to that. That would be a world-class duet.
Ken, Toronto

Check out Lorne Lofsky you will appreciate him. They recorded a couple of cd's together
Jim-PLEASE try to get Ed out and do a duet with you. Many many people who love you both would be ex static.
I guess, It's never too late... It would be a duet to watch, love, admire and learn from... what else could we ask for ??? There used to be on UA-cam something called: "Duets Impossible". The one that comes to mind is: Kathy Melua & Eva Cassidy...so, why not Jim and Ed ???
It’s too late.
Sigh... I miss Ed's playing so much.
