Rule #6 has to be the dumbest yet biggest brain move ever. Its never been stated that you had to vote for someone on your own team or even a contestant. Like... I'm actually surprised nobody actually tried this to see what would happen.

Well, I mean on the first season of Survivor at the final 11 tribal, Colleen and Greg originally voted for Jeff. He got mad at them and made them revote and I don't think you want to induce the wrath of Krystal.
You’re absolutely right about voting for Aiden, it would have her won points with Ellie since that’s who Ellie was originally gunning for. Now Ellie is going to wonder if she can trust Tess or not.
I also agree with Tess voting off Aiden. I mean think about it. Bro just lost his bf and now he has to loose his best friend. Yoh! Aiden has been through alot in this season and besides, Aiden made it to the finals in S2. Plus the girl alliance would've lasted.

Okay, I agree that voting for Tom was at the very least not the best choice for throwing her vote.
So let's get over the different throwing her vote options first:
1. Voting for Tom (which she did): leaves him potentially angry at her. In theory she could use this to get rid of him later ("girls, we need Tom out, he hates me, please"), but I doubt that Ellie or Gabby would go along with this (also, it showed Ellie that Tess wasn't siding with her even if the girls' alliance actually worked). And Lake would like to vote for him anyway. 0 points as the baseline
2. Voting for Aiden: He is less likely to be mad at her than Tom. If he was, she could use the same tactic as above, which would kinda go the same way, except now Lake wouldn't play along ("Aiden's friendship is more important than this game") where Gabby and Ellie wouldn't need extra encouragement. 2 points
3. Voting for Gabby: Gabby MIGHT understand that it was for throwing the vote. But she is known for holding grudges, as is Ellie. -1 point
4. Voting for Crystal: might give Tess some handicaps in later challenges. Which might make her team target her, since this way their team's performance is in danger. 0 points
5. Voting for Trevor: Yeah, he is not in a position to make things harder for Tess. 3 points
(I think the idea is the same for all staff members, so I'll leave it at these two and say the others are somewhere in between)
6. Voting herself: Most convincing "I didn't know what to do". No risk of aggroing anyone. And it should've been easy to see that she isn't in danger. 4 points
7. Writing nonsense on the paper. Also extremely convincing. 4 points
8. Literally throwing her vote, announcing that she would not vote. Very nice. If Crystal forces her to vote, she should probably write her own name in public and put it in. 5 points
Okay, so that's the throwing options. Let's go on to the not throwing ones.
9. Siding with Ellie: Will make at least Aiden angry at her, but he should be angrier at Ellie in the first place. It seems only risky if she is not convinced about Tom voting for Lake. Which I can understand. 4 points
10. Forcing the tiebreaker: I don't like this one as much tbh. It only works if she is certain about everyone else's vote. And technically, she still votes for Ellie, who does hold grudges even if they aren't really justified, so if Ellie wins the tiebreaker, her position would be worse than in canon. If Lake wins however, her position should be better. I'm torn here. 1 point
11. Uno-reversing Ellie: yeah, no, I don't like this one either. Maybe if she interrupts before Lake admits targeting Tom. But afterwards, while she would get the truth about the girls' alliance out, Tom would most likely still be going for Lake. So it should still end in a tie. But now, Ellie and Gabby would be seriously angry at Tess for exposing them. And in the end, she would also be admitting being part of this alliance, so the boys should also be at least displeased with her. What is she gonna say if they ask her whom she wanted out? -1 point
12. Immunity-Idol lie: Hmmm... it works for now I'd say. But it does seem rather bad long term. Ellie at least is going to consider Tess a potential threat for herself and will be trying to get rid of the idol somehow later. And revealing later that it was a lie is not going to help. Most people don't like being lied to (although they often like the lies themselves), and it could be interpreted as "she is lying now because she isn't willing to share her idol". Though at least it accomplishes having Lake one more round at least. 0 points
13. Poisoning Aiden: Well, I don't think Tess would morally consider this option ever. And as you pointed out, it isn't possible unless she foresees the situation. I don't think anyone is going to buy the lovesick lie. But if she stays rather quiet and acts surprised, it should work. It does mean however that she should get fewer supporters in the finally in case she reaches it (seariously wondering why nobody in the show ever thinks of the supporters prior to seeing the finally which almost always has them). 6 points, disregarding the moral implications
14. Convincing everyone to vote for Crystal/Trevor/Ninna/whoever: This one would not only get one of the hosts annoyed, but also forces a tiebreaker --- between everyone. I don't think Tess is confident in her abilities to win a tiebreaker, even if she only doesn't have to come in last among six people (it would be different with Fiore on her team). -4 points
15. Killing Miriam... Very similar to poisoning Aiden. Also equally impractical. And going by the method you suggested (throwin something heavy), a lot more difficult to do without being caught. And Ellie is the only one on her team that is fine with it (on the whole cast, Fiore and Yul should be on board as well). Morals aside, 6 points if you are not getting caught, -6 if you are.
16. Dancing. 0 points, because it just won't solve the issue.
17. Rigging the vote for Tom like Harold and Mal did (I'd say that is the realistic way of doing the MIB-thing): Since the votes are always revealed, people might identify her handwriting. And in this case Ellie is going to be seriously targetting her since she just ruined her plan entirely by letting Lake's ally live. 2 points, at least Lake stays for now.
So it was not the worst possible decision, not the best either.
When I saw all contestants for all-stars I said I'd be cheering for Tess (and Alec). I was happy seeing her having overcome her depression. I am regretting my cheering decision, because Tess just seems to have nothing to do here. She is a wasted character, and moments like this don't make it better.
I still think what Tess did was very smart. I personally think Ellie wouldn’t forgive Tess if she voted for her. So either way, I think Tess’s choice was still the best option. As someone who has watched every season of Total Drama more then 10 times and thought about how I would play the game, I definitely think Tess could of done something else, but in the moment, I think this was Tess best option. Maybe not the “brightest” move, but definitely the smartest giving her situation
Oh I agree. Voting Ellie or Gabby would screw her hard over with that side. She didn’t want to vote Lake and she probably feels bad for Aiden. In the moment, voting Tom wasn’t a bad choice at all.

I think Tess’ decision here can go either way.
She’s going to either be the swing vote (holding all the power) or both sides will screw her since she hasn’t proven her loyalty to either.
She voted for Tom so it’s unlikely they trust her. And yeah she didn’t vote for Ellie so she might be in her good graces but she also didn’t vote with Ellie so the trust isn’t entirely there. Like, if she was scared of Ellie she should have just voted with her, the result is the same except Ellie would feel 100% secure in Tess. If you wanted to save Lake then make the attempt, if it doesn’t work out then appeal to Tom/Aiden. She made an emotional decision and put herself in an unsafe ambiguous situation with EVERYONE annnnd didn’t accomplish anything with her vote.
She should’ve just voted herself.

...I was in a game of werewolf once where we voted for the moderator, after deducing the entire game was a sham and there were no werewolves. This led us to our victory with about half the village still alive. Sometimes that legitimately works.

Step 2: Explain the situation in full to Tom and Aiden to convince them to vote Ellie with you instead.
Step 3: If you wish to try and avoid a tiebreaker between Ellie and Aiden, try convincing Tess alone to vote Tom saying that Aiden already agreed to it and it will be a majority as Tom would never vote Aiden with the other two, we know she won't sell you out before voting given she didn't say anything about the canon situation.

Tbh, she should’ve just voted herself. Then, all others know she is willing to sacrifice herself for others sake.
Voting Ellie would've been too risky. Tess wants to ensure making it to merge at the very least, so getting anyone on her bad side by taking unnecessary risks could be her downfall. As she explained if she had voted against Ellie and Ellie somehow would've won the tiebreaker Tess would've definitely become her next target.
Voting for Lake to show her loyalty to Ellie wouldn't have been a good decision either since they are established to be close friends and if anything Tess cares most about her friends and wouldn't throw that away by backstabbing Lake since Lake values honesty and standing by your friends and values a lot.

I still believe Tess should have sided with Ellie. In season 2 she talked twice with Aiden ( as Aiden stated in ep 6 ) and probably less than twice with Lake. Out of all her team members Ellie was the closest to her.
After booting Lake they would have the majority. Plus Cyan team made it to the merge with 3 members ( and that's only because Gabby betrayed them, they could have made merge with 4 people ). Then Aiden would have been eliminated instead of Ellie in ep8 and Tom would be gone in ep 9 instead of Tess.
I know Ellie's not the most trustworthy person, but I don't think she would have betrayed Tess. Alec has betrayed her before and Tess proved her loyalty+ Tess's not a threat, so Ellie would want to make a f3 with her and Gabby. She only joined the villains as she had literally no other allies besides Gabby.

Unless #10 vote the right the vote option, that can’t done be with DC’s voting format, which paired after Survivor, at least one camper’s side. Any camper doing that would easily be caught by production. However, a rigged can be setup on the production for whatever reason, with Kristal either approving or setting the rigging up herself.

I enjoyed the video. My opinion on Tess burning her vote on Tom was Tess playing too safe. While some people think Tom was zero in on her due to paranoia, Ellie may not be too happy with her. That said, people are still assuming Ellie and Tess are still tight, but a takeaway with Tess’s ending confessional is that she would like to oust Ellie to get back at her for Lake

The best solution would be to vote for herself.
The biggest reason she didn't vote for Lake is because she likes Lake (they aren't best friends, but Lake didn't do anything that would force Tess to vote for her). The reason she went with Tom over Aiden is because she's known Aiden longer.
If she was to throw her vote on anyone, it should have been herself. She knew from what went down that no one else would have voted for her, and she wouldn't have angered anyone with her vote.

Tbf, now Tess could play the middle between Ellie/Gabby and Aiden/Tom, so technically the worst person to make the move is still Ellie
I have some other ideas how she could had avoided that elimination.
1ST one: Manipulating lake!!! This is the easiest out of the 2, just tell ellie to lie to lake!, tell ellie to say [lake we changed minds and we are gonna vote tom. Okay?], but that doesn't matter, tess ellie and gabby all vote aiden, getting aiden out in a
4 Aiden - 1 Tom - 1 [Either gabby or ellie], [Tom probally votes aiden, trying to save himself, but i don't feel like aiden would].
2ND one: 3RD option
As we saw gabby didn't wanna vote lake but she was obviously not gonna vote ellie, all tess had to do was tell gabby that she was gonna vote tom and she got aiden to vote tom with her, and then tell aiden to vote tom, because gabby was gonna vote with her, if it works... 3 Votes tom, 2 votes lake, 1 vote ellie.
I had another version of the 2ND plan, but it would make even less sense, basically tess just tells gabby that she should "throw" her vote with her, because of gabby not wanting to eliminate lake she would vote tom, and it would be easy to get aiden to vote tom then right??? Not at all, if just 1 thing has gone wrong ellie could be eliminated, no way gabby is taking THAT risk.
(Both plans are bad but if tess didn't want either lake or ellie to get out that would be the best ones)
Plan 1 is also kinda stupid because i feel like lake might be WAY TO MAD, to work with the alliance again.
I think Ellie's move was dumb too, like If Ellie, Tess and Gabby were voting Aiden, and Lake was voting Tom, it would have been Aiden anyways and the girls alliance would be still in the game (and it would be the strongest alliance ofc)
