I can explain Ally's negative reaction to the kiss at the end and her general decision-making in the entire episode which can be pointed out in her confessional at the beginning of the episode. She said how Hunter had been taking charge of things since Tess' elimination to the point of it being overbearing her. She felt she had no say in things and that made the alliance they had extremely one-sided. That's why she didn't take his advice when building a sled because she wanted to agency to do that challenge her way. It also explains why she convinced Hunter to let her pull him on the sled to show their alliance and the decisions made for them doesn't need to be his responsibility alone. Were either of these decisions Ally made smart? Absolutely not but she wanted Hunter to stop taking control of her agency even if it would have benefited her and the challenges they were in. That's also why she pushed him away when he kissed her because she felt he was taking charge again by pushing their relationship forward when they agreed not to do anything with it until after the season ended. He didn't ask her before he kissed her and that upset her that she didn't get a say if she was ready to advance their relationship. Hope this explanation helps!

@@kikikawaii6936 yeah. i thought hunter was aroace (lack of attraction to people) because of the evidence found but nope. but it is still possible he is aroace but i literally don't think that headcanon has any hope anymore. i am pretty happy ally stopped it even if she liked it, she is very loyal and that was very great of her not betraying tess. also hunter has very fustrated me through out the episodes after ep 2 he just gone downhill and he isn't the greatest player i thought he was. IT'S LIKE HE FINALLY REALIZED "oh yeah this game show is about strategy" well isn't that obvious 😃 also i think the headcanon poly relationship between hunter, ally and tess would've been VERY toxic.

Tbh I think Ally was just considering Tess' feelings during that scene, Tess' feelings for Hunter may not be as strong as Ally's, but she still likes him and Ally knows it. Also Hunter never choose her over Tess while she was still in the competition, he only started pursuing her after Tess got eliminated, which means that had Ally been eliminated instead of Tess, Hunter would've very probably gone for Tess as well as once again, he wouldn't need to make a choice between them. So that's why I think Ally wants to wait till the show's over so she can discuss all this stuff out together not only with Hunter, but also with Tess, so Hunter can finally make his choice between them and also to probably get Tess' blessing (which I don't think she'd have a problem with Hunter choosing Ally over her, as I've said, Tess doesn't like Hunter as much as Ally and I think she knows that she still needs to work on her mental health before being ready to be in a romantic relationship, so she'd probably just be happy to remain friends with Hunter and Ally). Or who knows, maybe they can still go the poly route.

My personal opinion is that the behind the scenes drama of the eliminated contestant’s voice actor/actress not sending in the lines and the Patreon readings caused a either a quick change to eliminate ally earlier than expected, or leave there be less build up. Spoilers - In my opinion it just makes no sense for Riya to eliminate ally. If anything, she should eliminate Rosa Maria or Aiden or even James. Hunter and Ally would be down for whatever. Riya doesn’t trust Rosa Maria as much and she already dislikes aiden now. She could secretly vote Rosa Maria out and make it look like they were blindsided so that way Rosa Maria doesn’t use the idol. I think Ally’s elimination was kinda poorly done and probably the worst elimination of the season. It’s a shame too since I felt like ally wouldn’t win anyways but I didn’t think she’d go down like this. The positive is that this does leave a huge future backlash from Hunter who will be alone now. I can see Riya deciding to go with Hunter and try to convince him otherwise. I also see a Riya vs aiden finale where both became more evil/corrupted as the game went on and both have to deal with betraying someone (perhaps aiden betrays James in the final 3/4.
@@Goofy90 But Riya did technically betray Rosa by not telling Rosa to use the totem since she knew Lake was going to be eliminated. Riya felt betrayed for not being told about the totem until after Lake joined and so she betrayed their alliance by not giving them the information that would have saved Lake if she did.
in my opinion, aiden's description of character is very wrong. first of all, he is not very good at reading people at least 5 TIMES he got fooled by yul, karol and james (or more).

I agree. You can't exactly think about how you are gonna react in the heat of the moment. Especially in episodes like this where your expectations and guesses are completely shattered when you see they're not coming to fruition like you thought they would. God knows we all say things in the heat of the moment but it's up to us to realize that you were so caught up in the surprise of the moment that you weren't really thinking as you spoke. We all do it and it's only natural to want to correct it when you realize it.

the totem arc MUST come to its’ conclusion in the next episode. either way, karol clearly seeded doubt in riya, which will for sure contribute to the next elimination of rosa/james/aiden. franky speaking, i feel like hunter and riya are safe for now, with the remaining three being at high risk of elimination. i also think that ally’s boot wasn’t originally planned, it feels SO out of place and unreasonable
yeah it's literally just hanging around. if rosa is the final 3 or 4 i feel like she would use it if riya is one of the targets for elimination and ofc they would've voted for aiden or james. it is a good time to use but damn it's been a while and i even forgot about the totem's existence. i wish karol stayed at least one more episode cus it felt she has no purpose being back

Massive spoilers - Side note, it just stings so much that this is ally’s final episode and she doesn’t even have her own voice, and honestly kind of acts out of character. This isn’t ally. She’s not even my favorite character (I’m a James X Aiden Stan) but I still liked her character and didn’t want her to go out like that. Well when I was looking at the episode comments, the old ally VA said she was actually on a business trip, so they couldn’t get the lines in on time they just used her Spanish VA. Tbh, I think you’ve made a very good point with Ally at the end. Although, I’d respectfully argue that it’s the opposite way around for me simply because well, Hunter did pretty much took control of Ally and Tess. Plus he indeed sis mention on one of his confessionals one episode 6 that he promised them to not do anything about the love trio until the season was over, yet he kissed Ally out of nowhere when she wasn’t even ready for a relationship yet and they weren’t even dating at the time either. I know this is probably going to make me sound terrible, but I would’ve actually been pretty upset too if someone who I was close friends with flat out kissed me without my consent :p Nonetheless, I respect your thoughts and curious to see your video analyzing all of this as well much like that Tess video lol XD
Ally's upset over the kiss for two major reasons. Hunter didn't ask her for the kiss. And the main fact that Ally and Tess had seeked out Hunter, they wanted to talk about their feelings with him but he avoided doing that. And finally, when the three of them had spoken they all agreed they wouldn't talk about it until the finale. Ally and Tess both know they like the same boy, but both of them didn't seem to act on it out of respect for each other and the fact that they agreed not to speak about it until the finale. I get you might be upset because your favorite ship didn't go through, but like from Ally's perspective not only did Hunter go back on his word- it's also blatantly unfair to her friend (Tess) who also has feelings for him.
I personally wouldn't have any issues with Hunter if from day one he confronted both of the girls and just told them which one of them he wanted to be with. But he was the one who insisted not to let romance get in the way of the competition, and now suddenly he kisses Ally and goes back on his word. It's kind of fucked up. Then again I'm a big Tess fan and did originally want her to win. But as the show went on, I became a big Tess and Ally fan. Hunters just weird to me now.
Silly Billy can you just address the fact that Jaiden caused all the violence this episode, just because they're "cute" doesn't mean they should be excused for bonding over breaking Karol's leg. This episode had such a bad message it ruined the whole episode for me. Abuse is apparently fine as long as you have an emo aesthetic and a boyfriend who's in "naughty" cause they're cuter than Karol

I think Riya told Ally and Hunter to vote Rosa, saying she wouldn’t vote with them otherwise but she lied. That’s why there were two votes for Rosa and why the totem hasn’t been played yet
SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE! (and a long in-depth review ahead) . . . Is it just me or was this the most disappointing episode of the season? Let's get the positive things out of the way: I really enjoyed Karol's role throughout the episode, she proved her return was justified and she would've been an amazing main antagonist of the merge. Connor's return was much appreciated, this leaves Yul as the only pre-merge to never appear again and I can't be bothered in his case. Glad Oliver is finally getting some Ws, and I enjoyed Kristal being so overly forcibly nice to him, it gave her some interesting flaws. And Jaiden remained as the only characters consistently good throughout the entire season (well, James took a back seat in Episode 7, but at least he wasn't bad there). Now, for the bad and the ugly... I was skeptical about Karol's return at first, they always feel unfair to those who compete since the beginning. But this episode proved how much potential it had. So... WHY GET RID OF IT SO QUICKLY?! She didn't get to have her revenge on neither Aiden nor James, they didn't get to outsmart her again, she was just gotten rid of in a NON-GAMEPLAY ELIMINATION via a random medical evacuation before the voting ceremony could even take place...in an episode FOLLOWING her return! Karol, who had potential to stir so much drama, mess with the balance of all alliances, and be the Big Bad of the merge! Just why....? Speaking of wasted potential, the Riya and Rosa Maaria duo... I'll give them that at least they remain relevant now (it'd be kinda hard not to at this point tbh)... They kinda wrote themselves in a corner. They were so irrelevant prior to Episode 8 that on one hand I want them gone before any of the remaining major players leave. On the other hand, this would leave them as entirely nothing characters, so perhaps it's for the better that they're getting some relevance now. But the damage's already been done for me. Even if they become the main characters with the most interesting stories now, it won't get rid of the sour taste left by them being more in the background for the first 7 episodes. I mean, you could give TDA Beth a conflict with Courtney post-Lindsay's elimination, more screentime, and some wholesome interactions with Duncan and the hosts, but it doesn't change the fact that aside from a couple moments here and there, she spent the entire season in the background (and as a lesser clone of a much more interesting Lindsay in her case). And the worst thing is that they became the final 2 girls and with their immunity idol might easily make it to the final 4, if not further. Also, I was hoping this would be like Episode 14 of TDWT for them... Riya feels guilty throughout the episode, Rosa finds out by the end, the conflict starts. But nope, only a bit of the guilt part happened. Even worse, the plot of Karol trying to manipulate Riya (and by extension Rosa, I guess) amounts to nothing because Karold gets eliminated before the vote, Riya accepts that everyone plays dirty and targets Ally anyway. WHY?! Why do Riya and Rosa's most interesting plots finally happen only to amount to nothing, so that it STILL feels like they continue to float through the story?! An interesting side note: last season also had a non-factor character who barely had relevance and still made it far in Nick... He remained irrelevant until the end, but they also did an interesting thing with him and lampshaded his irrelevancy by making him invisible to other contestants who already had their conflicts by this point. Interesting and quite funny, though I think I prefer Rosa and Riya finally gaining relevance (before hopefully going home soon). And absolutely the biggest offender of this episode - the remaining Love Triangle members... I'll put aside my bias that Ally got eliminated, she still ranked 6th place which is high enough...even if I'd rather have her outrank Riya and Rosa Maria. Where to even begin with them? Let me just say that the entire Love Triangle used to be my Top 3 characters of the season. It turned out to be the most wholesome love triangle yet, they were all interesting and relatable, and especially the earliest episodes showed they had so much potential... But now I'm forced to admit I don't like either of them as much anymore. Not that I hate them (though it's REALLY HARD to like Hunter now), but Jaiden definitely surpassed them for me, maybe so did Karol. Let me start with... Why are the Love Triangle trio the only not strategic characters at this point? Even the resident nice girls like Lake and Rosa Maria acted more strategic! They keep only interacting with each other (except for Ally reaching out to Riya for votes for the last two episodes), costing them their social game...but oh well, most of them keep in their smaller social circles.... The infamous Tess's decision from Episode 7? Oh well, I can somewhat forgive that, it'd likely be impossible to convince the other alliances to switch their votes and it makes sense for a depressed character not to care about the competition too much, especially now that she made genuine friends. But why are Ally and Hunter not strategic at all either?! You'd think a Gamer Girl and a Player playing all kinds of games would develop way more strategic side, but nope! I'm looking at you too, Ally! I get that Hunter becoming overprotective after Tess's elimination can get annoying, but WHY ON EARTH would YOU carry HIM on the slide instead of the other way around as he pointed out?! I mean, you ARE AWARE THAT YOU'RE BEING TARGETED ever since the episode started, why are you making the challenges harder for you to win?! YOU NEED THIS VICTORY! And another thing related to poor strategizing (speaking of which, the episode came back to barely having any strategizing who to vote off, even though last couple of episodes did this part so well).... Why choose Rosa Maria? Sure, they may have noticed some awkward tension between her and Riya in this episode, but it was still stupid and risky! Why not go for James? You'd actually have a chance to convince Riya (and Rosa as a result), then! And the whole Will They Or Won't They? between Ally and Hunter in this episode... Please, don't play with me like that. I want to root for them to become a couple... But at this point I end up rooting for the whole friendship trio to just remain as True Companions and that the girls don't ditch Hunter now. And especially that they don't turn Hunter into Tren't or another Dave. Like, seriously, they made him even more unsympathetic than during episodes 4-6, and that's an achievement! Like, I thought he was a creator's pet so far, but at this point I'm starting to question if they don't actually hate him and want to make us hate him as well by any means necessary.
And finally the last flaw - WHY DOES HUNTER KEEP WINNING IMMUNITY AND IN SUCH CONTRIVED WAYS?! Why can't they make him genuinely earn his victories instead? It already happened in canon and it was hated every time. TDI Heather won because of luck (it only makes sense if Chris rigs the game for her), because DJ and Owen somehow let themselves be captured instead of running away, and because of making Lindsay do the dirty work for her (the last is at least partially earned through her manipulation). TDA Courtney won after her performance in the last challenge of the superhero movie was given several seconds of screentime, even though Harold's was focused on the most and the title made a pun with his name, suggesting he'd win. She was given a victory was the princess, even the final fight was in her favor since she was inside the tower. Rock n' Roll challenge was somewhat in-character, she definitely proved herself to be physically strong this season, but I'd argue it'd still fit Duncan more. And then TDAS Zoey... Mal threw the challenge for himself to sabotage Alejandro, she somehow ate faster than the remaining resident Big Eater who can eat dirt, and she doesn't experience major setbacks unlike the others in Episode 12, which comes off as the writers favoring her, especially since she's not a villain so she doesn't even have to be so forcibly kept around. Hunter's winning streak is the most similar to Zoey's, and she was partially hated for it. Disventure Camp writers are such dedicated fans, I'm sure they must have been aware of this. So are they really trying to make us dislike Hunter? The worst part is that it could have been easily avoided: - Just have Lake win in Episode 7 since she threw her ring first, ignore that it fell off. Tess can still be targeted. If others noticed her conditions, they could take pity on her since competition is bound to cause stress and negative experiences. If they didn't get to know her enough and only see her as cold, that's even more of a reason to target her first out of Love Triangle trio. - I have to admit, Episode 8 is an exception, this was needed there. Nina was smart to realize the alliances need to be more balanced for more drama and interesting plots. So a returning Karol and otherwise targeted Ally and Hunter needed this. Plus, this time it didn't involve Hunter only, another reason to make an exception. - Just have Hunter lose in Episode 9 like everyone else, for losing his partner along the way and accidentally having his blindfold taken off (a reason why DJ failed the challenge despite completing it). Ally can still be targeted since she's much kinder, so her social game is more of a threat. See? Hunter being disliked for a reason outside of his control could have been easily avoided. All in all, still fairly good episode, mostly thanks to Karol and Jaiden. But it definitely brought worst parts of Disventure Camp's writing to the surface. Since this was so long, let me end on predictions to not sound so negative: Kristal claimed there are 3 episodes left. This means we'll either have a double elimination before a typical final 2, or we'll have a final 3 in the finale this time. Knowing Hunter, Rosa will trip, her totem will split in half and fall into his hands, he'll get to use it in two episodes in a row and will win in the finale cuz others tripped or something. Seriously though, Hunter feels out of place among the remaining 2 duos. I wanted to root for all Love Triangle members, but at this point just make him lose for a change next time and have others vote him off since this is the first chance they've got. Predictable way, but will do some damage control. I hope Riya and Rosa Maria are next, but they have immunity totem, so they have a high chance to be in final 4, if not further. Jaiden has a chance to be the final 2 since the last season had all-female final 2 and they have interesting dynamics to keep the finale going even as a relationship. Then again, they plan to rewrite the first season with changed elimination order, so who knows how it'll turn out. And I hope the finale will resolve the love triangle in a way that does each character justice and doesn't make Hunter come off as even further unsympathetic.
Well... not realy true Karol is gonna get revenge on Aiden and James cuz she told Riya a lot of bad stuff about them. Wich might mean James is the next to be voted out and then Aiden cuz rosa maria has the imunity totem. So if hunter teamed up with Riya and Rosa they would win cuz they would vote out james and Aiden.Soo the only way Aiden can win is to steal the totem or get imunity twice/once But James is 100% dead at this point. Also if hunter voted with Aiden and James insted then rosa will ise the totem and then after Aiden/James get voted out Hunter will ofc vote with Riya and rosa maria.The ONLY way to save James and Aiden is to make them both win imunity TWICE. If that happens then it would be tge finnaly 3 and that means to more voting
I agree so much with you but just one thing. I personally think that Ally pulling out of the kiss could've worked. Like she cares about Tess and doesn't want to start anything with Hunter kind of thing. But it was all over the place until that moment, it just fell flat ig. Honestly kinda disappointing..
@@adamturek210 The biggest thing in Total Drama's fandom right now and a project of so much effort and passion for the series deserves it ;) Well, there are low chances of both Riya and Rosa being in the final 2, so I should have at least one ending that would satisfy me. Even if they somehow end up having both endings to themselves, I'm more saddened by how they handled my favorite Love Triangle trio (well, Tess excluded, she got the best out of them) than I'd ever be pissed by either Riya or Rosa winning.
Probably the worst episode so far. Positives: Riya and Ally were good this episode. And im so sick of everyone saying Riya doesnt do anything. She did plenty of relevant stuff throughout the series, but its just that nobody cares about it. Connor and Oliver returning was great! And the scene with them and Krystal was probably the highlight of the episode. Thats about it for the positives, theres far more negative things i have to say about this episode: Ally leaving because "their alliance was too strong" is such bs, Aiden + James and Rosa + Riya were far greater threats if you ask me. Hunter and Rosa have plot armor ONCE again. And im getting so sick of it. And now James is getting plot armor too. Karol leaving RIGHT after reintroducing her was not good. She was justified in thinking Aiden and James should leave. She probably thought Aiden was in on it as well. And Karol is written like shes in the wrong here? She entrusted Aiden with that spider and he literally sent it to its death. And also, AIDEN was the one to strike first and hit Oliver and Karol. Why are we supposed to root for Jaiden here? It seems like the writers are backtracking and going the "ACTUALLY James was in the right for being manipulative" route, which kinda defeats Aidens whole arc. And the fans are eating it up as usual because most of them are fujoshis. At least when Riya did something bad, were actually supposed to believe shes in the wrong (she is, but i get where she was coming from) And this fandom is still at her throat for it. While those same fans are patting Aiden on the back for killing an innocent animal and injuring someone who was (actually) mostly in the right. Finally, Krystals forced development. Why is she walking on eggshells around Oliver when the point was that he wants her to act like a normal human being? He never said "treat me like a god" he just expected basic human decency. Thats why the opening scene is good. It all just falls apart at the end, though. Thats about it for the negatives. I honestly think the fandom should stop idolizing Jaiden so much, and also stop being so harsh on Riya. Shes an immigrant whos trying her hardest to fit in, like have some empathy, please.
yeah i have changed my opinions alot by reading the comments. i do agree with you with the "strong alliance comment" ever since tess has gone the alliance has broken down alot and indeed rosa+riya & aiden+james are more stronger. i wish aiden said a different reason or just didn't say anything. we could've had a confessional by him saying like "we got ally out since she fell out of the sled and didn't get immunity, i am glad she didn't because that would've been very difficult to vote. now hunter has no allies" along the lines of that. that would've been more reasonable but ally's elimination was very disappointing and the end was too. my opinions will change but this is what i got.
i also agree on the ship "jaiden" yes i am a shipper of that but please don't idolize it too much. it's literally a headcanon and it never has been official. i get yes we do get scenes of them getting close and stuff but i'm getting sick and tired of people being very forceful about this relationship happening. whether it is gonna become canon or not we cannot get our hopes up and the oddnations team feeling like they NEED to include the ship and i feel they are tired of the fans begging for it happen. i bet they love their fans but (idk if this evidence is an official statement from the team or not) if it's not become official they won't change that unless both of them go into another season. i think i heard a source saying that won't change their plans for the episodes or what's happening, they already have everything set up. (spoiler) Frankly why is Aiden calling Karol out for being more likely to hurt a person than an arachnid ? He hit her first , and he doesn't know if Oliver is allergic or not . I like Aiden but those were some Gwen vibes and then Karol never lied either and did try and be nice enough by helping Hunter be less arachnophobic . And frankly she should have sued Riya is hypocritical too ofcourse (still love her ) .
I never was a fan of him and Karol nor did I mind either of them but that part where Aiden said that Karol hit him and James, I was kind of annoyed with him and was like “Bro you told James to hit her first! You’re not so innocent either!”

I see Ally’s reaction making sense to be honest, Hunter has not really been my favorite in the last episodes but I think it makes sense, Ally says that her herself feels a little annoyed at the fact that Hunter had been taking way more control over everything since Tess got eliminated making her feel like she had no say and that she didn’t like it, this whole Ally not accepting Hunter is seen in the episode a lot of times when she carries hunter to the top of the mountain, when she rejects his help to make the sleigh, and she spent some of her lines talking about being excited to see Tess again if she gets eliminated before the elimination ceremony, showing this same excitement to see Tess again as Hunter is taking her to the bus, she seems to also care about what Tess has to say about what’s going between the three of them and even if she maybe liked the kiss which didn’t even look like it that much she did feel bad about sending Hunter’s regards to Tess after the kiss as she was excited prior to the kiss.
I wish they showed this angle better. I'd absolutely be down to see Hunter semi-spiraling after Tess' elimination and it making him more protective and therefore unnecessarily overbearing. But all we see after Tess is gone is Ep 8: Him standing with Ally, Him and Ally splitting up, Him finding Ally "dead" *and at the time he thought it was real*, and then at the end of the ep he hugs her and she tells him she's fine and he backs off Ep 9: He suggests to offers tips in what Ally finds to be overbearing Any development of this is off-screen, unless we count his genuine reaction of joy hugging Ally when he realized she was alive, and that was when he thought SHE WAS ACTUALLY DEAD- and she tells him she's fine and he let's her go. Aside from that I didn't see the offering tips as a bad thing- her confessional admits she finds him overbearing on her but we're told that rather than shown. I would have liked to see more hints throughout 8 and the start of 9 that alluded to this better, and just how badly this sorta made him anxious and more restricting. But again we're told this and just left to accept it because it's Ally saying so and at the end of the episode he kisses her, proving her correct. It feels so anticlimactic when Hunter has seemed normal for the most part to me.
My take is… Even though Karol was villainous and received a villain’s karma… the true villains are Aiden and James, maybe it was just the eerie music they decided to play during their conversation but Aiden is a hypocrite for deciding to sabotage Karol WITHOUT including James, after Aiden bitched about James not including him in his plans before. But can they make it to the finale? Rosa has a totem and could easily eliminate one of them next episode, would be fun if Rosa gets betrayed, that way more villainous stuff can happen. Also there’s 3 episodes left and 5 campers remaining so either the next episode or the one after that will have a double elimination.
i personally really like the first half of the episode setting up some things and drama but then the double elimination of karol and ally got my shocked and not in a good way, i dont know what kind of drama will they do now and leaving hunter alone is just no
Same though, the first half got me excited while I was questioning the second half. So in the end I have mixed feelings about the episode. Episode 8 which had my favourite character being eliminated was much better in my opinion and might even be my favourite.
Karol could change things. The game for a long time was only dominated by the 3 major alliance, her villaionus would give us different type of eliminations caused by the villain but now its kinda boring that every elimination is caused by an alliance asking other alliance voting together. Even James does nothing villainous. Honestly i love watching villains way more than heroes, they are the spice of the show.
Hey, what we have now could make for some cool corruption arcs (given that there was brief period of time where it looked like we didn't have any villains to work with that's pretty ironic lol). I can think of three routes they could do from here. Riya - Her potential for this has already been made pretty clear in-story; She feels insecure about her place, and she's dismayed that it seems to survive dirty tactics are apparently needed. If she were to embrace that ethos out of insecurity over her friendships drifting apart, she could really drive the knife into Rosa Maria given that she's her closest confidante. Hunter - I'm sure others would say the obvious route for him being bad at this point would be to pull a Dave, but I personally don't see it. Instead, I feel like he could really hate himself over not being able to protect Tess and then how he messed up big time with Ally. It'd be interesting to see this self-loathing cause him to become careless, lashing out at others while he feels he has to take the burden of survival on himself. Aiden - This one is the most interesting of the three to me. In this episode Aiden does sabotage for the first time, probably in response to realising that James was right and wanting to make amends. He's still clearly guilty about it in this instance. However, the way the conversation at the end is fascinating, because after James absolves Aiden of his guilt by praising his strategic manoeuvre, Aiden is the one to initiate physical contact with James, when usually it's the other way around (even James is startled by it at first). This could set up Aiden finally embracing his feelings for James, but manifesting by him feeling he needs to go deeper into skulduggery to protect him from elimination (seeing as he is an easy target due to his past actions). That itself can be taken in multiple directions; maybe James ends up having to talk Aiden down if it goes too far, or maybe the ultimate act of protecting James Aiden has to do is sacrifice his own survival in the game. James and Rosa Maria I have nothing for, I think they're not in a position to turn antagonist. Which is ironic considering James started as one. Now, I'm not saying any of this will happen, I'm just spitballing with what's been presented so far.
Is it just me or does this episode just makes anyone else strongly dislike Aiden, I mean I never really liked Aiden that much but this episode makes me dislike him more then I already did. Jaiden is to overprotected which leads to me thinking Aiden will be going next because at this point, the story between Aiden and James is running low and even Riya and Rosa are picking up, but also running low in my eyes. I hope James wins honestly.
I like the elimination order so far, but I would change some things, Swap conner's and Karol's first elimination around (both teams loose) Just make this episode have two voting ceremonies, one where Ally Leaves and another where Karol or Rosa-Maria leaves BTW Billy, I agree that Riya could maybe be a villain now, but I also think James will still have a small villain roll to. BTW 2: I don't want anyone to leave but if I were to predict I would guess James or rosa, maybe Hunter but I'm guessing each duo would try to persuade him, either he chooses one and James/Rosa is eliminated or rosa uses here idol and James/Hunter maybe if he isn't immune, is eliminated that way

that was VERY wasted potential just because her leg was hurt. i do agree with her that it isn't as bad as yul's poisoning by james and she should continue even if she struggles with the challenges. she is a strong player and she could've been like heather in season 1, beaten by the players and getting revenge by the two other people playing.
It's so annoying how it seems like you can't call out how Aiden and James treated Karol in this episode because it'd be criticizing the precious Jaiden ship 😒 Karol was absolutely wasted and it's just strange for her to be brought back only to be booted one episode later and not even getting James or Aiden booted to at least give her some bigger impact.
I think ally’s reaction comes from her and Tess growing closer with their friendship so her and hunter getting together without Tess there just doesn’t sit right with her

I do hope that Hunter will not be a finalist at least, since the weird immunity he's getting a lot, I just hope it will end like it has done in TDI and TDA where the ones that go get a bit carried by random immunity that like them wouldn't end up as a finalist (Of course different creators, shows and all that, but it had be unfair for Hunter to win it all.) Ally's reaction felt weird too to me as well, it's nice to see people try to explain it at least so you can try and see it from different perspectives
An interesting thought is Aiden had put them in danger by putting the spider on Oliver’s shoulder to distract them, obviously it is less aggressive but I like to think of Aiden getting more “corrupted” / playing more dirty kind of like Yup tried to poison, now it’s clearly that the poison is the worst thing but it’s kinda hmm to me James reaction to the poison compared to what happened by Aidens actions. One thing is sure he’s playing more dirty but he outright hurt Karol by doing that, which James was fairly against Yul brining up the poison idea since he’s hurting someone. Idk how much sense that made but I wonder if it just because of his feelings for Aiden if he overlooks it or if they are both just playing a bit more dirty / or just don’t feel guilty (since it’s Karol, I mean James didn’t seem to feel guilty much after getting Yul out but at least Karol never threatened to hurt Aiden I guess at least like how Yul did)

I think I'm the only person who loved this episode. The only thing I hated was the ending and eliminations. Karol should've stayed longer and someone other than Ally should've got voted out. Karol should'nt have gotten injured but she would win immunity because she was the closest to the line and followed all the rules. And for the elimination, James/Aiden would've been voted out and it would be caused by Karol. Karol would convince everyone to vote for either James or Aiden. I'm not sure who should get voted out because I really like Aiden's character but the dram between James and Karol would be interesting. James/Aiden follows the eliminated person to the bus. They declare their love for eachother before the other leaves the camp, they kiss and Jaiden becomes canon. This ending would cause more drama between Karol and James/Aiden, Riya would also have some drama with everyone but mostly James/Aiden, Riya would also be split between Rosa's alliance or Karol's, Jaiden would become canon, Hunter wouldn't have won immunity again, and Ally wouldn't be voted out. Damn, I should become a writer for this show
The ending really pissed me off, the fact Aiden is the cause of Karol's injury and then lectures her about not hurting people is so hypocritical. Just another reason for me not to like Aiden #BringBackLake
he shouldn't have won karol should have (even tho she did crash) or aiden & james (they rarely win challenges so this could've build them up to be more of a threat). he was the one with the blindfold and he took it off. just to know what was going on. that was literal cheating and he left ally without returning to help her i don't care if he would've been last that was very unfair of kristal giving him a win (kristal should've said "where's ally" or something so he can't get away from winning so unexpectedly) idk if the rules specified but if there wasn't a rule like that, that's sorta just beats the whole point of the challenge. you work with your partner to win and hunter some how doesn't crash even though are a dozen rocks without ally's guidance. (to specify yes ik it's a cartoon and a game show which is normally VERY rigged, but i am putting my opinions out)
I genuinely don't understand why people root so much for Hunter, Ally, and Tess. Like, none of them were ever likeable... Yeah the romance was cute and fun, but that's not a good enough reason to root for them, especially since none of them were ever likeable. Do I think they changed things to eliminate Ally this episode for production related reasons, yes. Do I think another character should have left instead of her, no, no I do not. Of all characters to get eliminated this episode she was the one I found most likely to go, and yes, I had that thought going into the episode knowing Karol was targeting James and Aiden. All the remaining characters were much more interesting and better than she was... Except Hunter, but it was obvious Hunter was going to make it the furthest in the trio from the very start. Especially since I feel he targetted and interacted with Tess and Ally for strategic gain. Ally leaving made the most sense. A lot of people like Aiden, but he legitimately hasn't done anything the entire season. This episode with the spider was his first proactive moment within the show as far as strategy goes. So maybe he can improve within the next two episodes, but I personally would rather he got eliminated and leave anyone else to the final three... Do I think that would happen, no. He's probably going to the finale, but I hope he doesn't. I enjoy Hunter and his relationship with Ally and Tess, I don't want to see him win, but I am cool with him reaching the final three. Personally, I hope he gets eliminated before. The only reason I like ever liked him was because of his Ally and Tess dynamic, but that is gone now. James has been acting strategically since the very start, he has been involved in multiple eliminations, and proactively reaches for what he wants within the competition. He has a cute romantic potential, he started out mildly antagonistic but has changed throughout the show, this is someone who I can root for. Rosa Maria, honestly other than having a really good social game and find the totem she hasn't done much, but that's kind of what her strategy is, so it suits her. Her gameplan has been working really well for herself so far. She is also one of the two remaining character whom we know anything of their backstory so far [the other being Riya]. So if she won I would be satisfied with it. Sure, Riya was unimportant for the first half of the season, but that's what makes her so interesting now, she knows she's in a bad spot and is working strategically because of it. She has the weakest position in the game right now [other than Hunter... But he wins challenges soooo], which makes it fun to root for her, wanting to see how she can turn the situation to her advantage. She has done a LOT. Like James she is someone I can root for.
A lot people are hating Aiden and Riya right now but aren't looking at it in a competitive pov I mean ur in competition one person wants you gone it's not about good or evil it about if you are willing to do bad things In order to stay Riya voted Lake cuz lake was a threat like Heather said "we aren't here to make freinds we're here to win"
Riya booted out Lake for a justified reason. She was a big threat challenge wise and if it came down to Rosa Maria choosing her or Lake, she was gonna choose Lake because they were closer. Riya also didn't sabotage Lake in challenges. Aiden did. Aiden got a woman's leg broken and pet killed and acted like the victim the whole time.
The thing is, what Riya did WAS actually for strategic purposes and had a good reasoning behind it. She didn't hate Lake, in fact I still she considers her a friend, but knew that her and Rosa were closer to each other. And plus, the show and Riya both know that what she did was wrong and acknowledge that. Purposfully kicking the sleigh first, breaking a woman's leg, killing the spider(which he also purposfully put in danger plus Oliver and Karol) and then have the audacity to call out Karol for trying to "hurt" him isn't called strategy, it's called being a hypocritical and whiny bitch. And on top of that, I'm almost convinced that the show unironically, no joke, with a serious face trys to tell us that we should SYMPATHISE with Aiden and that he was IN THE RIGHT HERE. Which, if that is true, what the actual fuck man? I hope that my suspicions aren't true and that Aiden becomes antagonistic, gets karma, and understands that what he did was wrong. That would be a cool storyline. If, on the other hand, Aiden comes off on top and is still considered a "hero", then, I'm sorry, but fuck this show and fuck Aiden. This is a plotline that even All-Stars wouldn't do, because it's just morally incorrect.

I believe Ally not wanting to kiss Hunter/not liking it doesn't really make sense, she didn't mind kissing him before as far as we've seen and suddenly it feels like Ally is not interested in him at all in this episode. She didn't mind being close to him when Tess was in the camp but now she's gone she doesn't want to? Idk something feels off about Ally in this episode, somehow very distant of Hunter for not a very good reason. I understand Hunter somehow being controlling with them but he's actually not that bad, like he makes sure Tess and Ally are both satisfied, so Ally treating him distantly this episode for me was a shocker plus something that didn't make sense.
I can explain Ally's negative reaction to the kiss at the end and her general decision-making in the entire episode which can be pointed out in her confessional at the beginning of the episode. She said how Hunter had been taking charge of things since Tess' elimination to the point of it being overbearing her. She felt she had no say in things and that made the alliance they had extremely one-sided. That's why she didn't take his advice when building a sled because she wanted to agency to do that challenge her way. It also explains why she convinced Hunter to let her pull him on the sled to show their alliance and the decisions made for them doesn't need to be his responsibility alone. Were either of these decisions Ally made smart? Absolutely not but she wanted Hunter to stop taking control of her agency even if it would have benefited her and the challenges they were in. That's also why she pushed him away when he kissed her because she felt he was taking charge again by pushing their relationship forward when they agreed not to do anything with it until after the season ended. He didn't ask her before he kissed her and that upset her that she didn't get a say if she was ready to advance their relationship. Hope this explanation helps!

Tbh I think Ally was just considering Tess' feelings during that scene, Tess' feelings for Hunter may not be as strong as Ally's, but she still likes him and Ally knows it. Also Hunter never choose her over Tess while she was still in the competition, he only started pursuing her after Tess got eliminated, which means that had Ally been eliminated instead of Tess, Hunter would've very probably gone for Tess as well as once again, he wouldn't need to make a choice between them. So that's why I think Ally wants to wait till the show's over so she can discuss all this stuff out together not only with Hunter, but also with Tess, so Hunter can finally make his choice between them and also to probably get Tess' blessing (which I don't think she'd have a problem with Hunter choosing Ally over her, as I've said, Tess doesn't like Hunter as much as Ally and I think she knows that she still needs to work on her mental health before being ready to be in a romantic relationship, so she'd probably just be happy to remain friends with Hunter and Ally).
Or who knows, maybe they can still go the poly route.

My personal opinion is that the behind the scenes drama of the eliminated contestant’s voice actor/actress not sending in the lines and the Patreon readings caused a either a quick change to eliminate ally earlier than expected, or leave there be less build up.

In my opinion it just makes no sense for Riya to eliminate ally. If anything, she should eliminate Rosa Maria or Aiden or even James. Hunter and Ally would be down for whatever. Riya doesn’t trust Rosa Maria as much and she already dislikes aiden now. She could secretly vote Rosa Maria out and make it look like they were blindsided so that way Rosa Maria doesn’t use the idol.
I think Ally’s elimination was kinda poorly done and probably the worst elimination of the season. It’s a shame too since I felt like ally wouldn’t win anyways but I didn’t think she’d go down like this.
The positive is that this does leave a huge future backlash from Hunter who will be alone now. I can see Riya deciding to go with Hunter and try to convince him otherwise.
I also see a Riya vs aiden finale where both became more evil/corrupted as the game went on and both have to deal with betraying someone (perhaps aiden betrays James in the final 3/4.

Riya felt betrayed for not being told about the totem until after Lake joined and so she betrayed their alliance by not giving them the information that would have saved Lake if she did.
in my opinion, aiden's description of character is very wrong. first of all, he is not very good at reading people at least 5 TIMES he got fooled by yul, karol and james (or more).

I agree. You can't exactly think about how you are gonna react in the heat of the moment. Especially in episodes like this where your expectations and guesses are completely shattered when you see they're not coming to fruition like you thought they would. God knows we all say things in the heat of the moment but it's up to us to realize that you were so caught up in the surprise of the moment that you weren't really thinking as you spoke. We all do it and it's only natural to want to correct it when you realize it.

the totem arc MUST come to its’ conclusion in the next episode. either way, karol clearly seeded doubt in riya, which will for sure contribute to the next elimination of rosa/james/aiden. franky speaking, i feel like hunter and riya are safe for now, with the remaining three being at high risk of elimination. i also think that ally’s boot wasn’t originally planned, it feels SO out of place and unreasonable

Although, I’d respectfully argue that it’s the opposite way around for me simply because well, Hunter did pretty much took control of Ally and Tess. Plus he indeed sis mention on one of his confessionals one episode 6 that he promised them to not do anything about the love trio until the season was over, yet he kissed Ally out of nowhere when she wasn’t even ready for a relationship yet and they weren’t even dating at the time either. I know this is probably going to make me sound terrible, but I would’ve actually been pretty upset too if someone who I was close friends with flat out kissed me without my consent :p Nonetheless, I respect your thoughts and curious to see your video analyzing all of this as well much like that Tess video lol XD

Hunter didn't ask her for the kiss. And the main fact that Ally and Tess had seeked out Hunter, they wanted to talk about their feelings with him but he avoided doing that. And finally, when the three of them had spoken they all agreed they wouldn't talk about it until the finale. Ally and Tess both know they like the same boy, but both of them didn't seem to act on it out of respect for each other and the fact that they agreed not to speak about it until the finale.
I get you might be upset because your favorite ship didn't go through, but like from Ally's perspective not only did Hunter go back on his word- it's also blatantly unfair to her friend (Tess) who also has feelings for him.
I personally wouldn't have any issues with Hunter if from day one he confronted both of the girls and just told them which one of them he wanted to be with. But he was the one who insisted not to let romance get in the way of the competition, and now suddenly he kisses Ally and goes back on his word. It's kind of fucked up.
Then again I'm a big Tess fan and did originally want her to win. But as the show went on, I became a big Tess and Ally fan. Hunters just weird to me now.

Silly Billy can you just address the fact that Jaiden caused all the violence this episode, just because they're "cute" doesn't mean they should be excused for bonding over breaking Karol's leg. This episode had such a bad message it ruined the whole episode for me. Abuse is apparently fine as long as you have an emo aesthetic and a boyfriend who's in "naughty" cause they're cuter than Karol

Is it just me or was this the most disappointing episode of the season?
Let's get the positive things out of the way:
I really enjoyed Karol's role throughout the episode, she proved her return was justified and she would've been an amazing main antagonist of the merge. Connor's return was much appreciated, this leaves Yul as the only pre-merge to never appear again and I can't be bothered in his case. Glad Oliver is finally getting some Ws, and I enjoyed Kristal being so overly forcibly nice to him, it gave her some interesting flaws. And Jaiden remained as the only characters consistently good throughout the entire season (well, James took a back seat in Episode 7, but at least he wasn't bad there).
Now, for the bad and the ugly...
I was skeptical about Karol's return at first, they always feel unfair to those who compete since the beginning. But this episode proved how much potential it had. So... WHY GET RID OF IT SO QUICKLY?! She didn't get to have her revenge on neither Aiden nor James, they didn't get to outsmart her again, she was just gotten rid of in a NON-GAMEPLAY ELIMINATION via a random medical evacuation before the voting ceremony could even take place...in an episode FOLLOWING her return! Karol, who had potential to stir so much drama, mess with the balance of all alliances, and be the Big Bad of the merge! Just why....?
Speaking of wasted potential, the Riya and Rosa Maaria duo... I'll give them that at least they remain relevant now (it'd be kinda hard not to at this point tbh)... They kinda wrote themselves in a corner. They were so irrelevant prior to Episode 8 that on one hand I want them gone before any of the remaining major players leave. On the other hand, this would leave them as entirely nothing characters, so perhaps it's for the better that they're getting some relevance now.
But the damage's already been done for me. Even if they become the main characters with the most interesting stories now, it won't get rid of the sour taste left by them being more in the background for the first 7 episodes. I mean, you could give TDA Beth a conflict with Courtney post-Lindsay's elimination, more screentime, and some wholesome interactions with Duncan and the hosts, but it doesn't change the fact that aside from a couple moments here and there, she spent the entire season in the background (and as a lesser clone of a much more interesting Lindsay in her case). And the worst thing is that they became the final 2 girls and with their immunity idol might easily make it to the final 4, if not further.
Also, I was hoping this would be like Episode 14 of TDWT for them... Riya feels guilty throughout the episode, Rosa finds out by the end, the conflict starts. But nope, only a bit of the guilt part happened. Even worse, the plot of Karol trying to manipulate Riya (and by extension Rosa, I guess) amounts to nothing because Karold gets eliminated before the vote, Riya accepts that everyone plays dirty and targets Ally anyway. WHY?! Why do Riya and Rosa's most interesting plots finally happen only to amount to nothing, so that it STILL feels like they continue to float through the story?!
An interesting side note: last season also had a non-factor character who barely had relevance and still made it far in Nick... He remained irrelevant until the end, but they also did an interesting thing with him and lampshaded his irrelevancy by making him invisible to other contestants who already had their conflicts by this point. Interesting and quite funny, though I think I prefer Rosa and Riya finally gaining relevance (before hopefully going home soon).
And absolutely the biggest offender of this episode - the remaining Love Triangle members... I'll put aside my bias that Ally got eliminated, she still ranked 6th place which is high enough...even if I'd rather have her outrank Riya and Rosa Maria.
Where to even begin with them? Let me just say that the entire Love Triangle used to be my Top 3 characters of the season. It turned out to be the most wholesome love triangle yet, they were all interesting and relatable, and especially the earliest episodes showed they had so much potential... But now I'm forced to admit I don't like either of them as much anymore. Not that I hate them (though it's REALLY HARD to like Hunter now), but Jaiden definitely surpassed them for me, maybe so did Karol.
Let me start with... Why are the Love Triangle trio the only not strategic characters at this point? Even the resident nice girls like Lake and Rosa Maria acted more strategic! They keep only interacting with each other (except for Ally reaching out to Riya for votes for the last two episodes), costing them their social game...but oh well, most of them keep in their smaller social circles.... The infamous Tess's decision from Episode 7? Oh well, I can somewhat forgive that, it'd likely be impossible to convince the other alliances to switch their votes and it makes sense for a depressed character not to care about the competition too much, especially now that she made genuine friends. But why are Ally and Hunter not strategic at all either?! You'd think a Gamer Girl and a Player playing all kinds of games would develop way more strategic side, but nope!
I'm looking at you too, Ally! I get that Hunter becoming overprotective after Tess's elimination can get annoying, but WHY ON EARTH would YOU carry HIM on the slide instead of the other way around as he pointed out?! I mean, you ARE AWARE THAT YOU'RE BEING TARGETED ever since the episode started, why are you making the challenges harder for you to win?! YOU NEED THIS VICTORY!
And another thing related to poor strategizing (speaking of which, the episode came back to barely having any strategizing who to vote off, even though last couple of episodes did this part so well).... Why choose Rosa Maria? Sure, they may have noticed some awkward tension between her and Riya in this episode, but it was still stupid and risky! Why not go for James? You'd actually have a chance to convince Riya (and Rosa as a result), then!
And the whole Will They Or Won't They? between Ally and Hunter in this episode... Please, don't play with me like that. I want to root for them to become a couple... But at this point I end up rooting for the whole friendship trio to just remain as True Companions and that the girls don't ditch Hunter now. And especially that they don't turn Hunter into Tren't or another Dave. Like, seriously, they made him even more unsympathetic than during episodes 4-6, and that's an achievement!
Like, I thought he was a creator's pet so far, but at this point I'm starting to question if they don't actually hate him and want to make us hate him as well by any means necessary.
And finally the last flaw - WHY DOES HUNTER KEEP WINNING IMMUNITY AND IN SUCH CONTRIVED WAYS?! Why can't they make him genuinely earn his victories instead?
It already happened in canon and it was hated every time. TDI Heather won because of luck (it only makes sense if Chris rigs the game for her), because DJ and Owen somehow let themselves be captured instead of running away, and because of making Lindsay do the dirty work for her (the last is at least partially earned through her manipulation).
TDA Courtney won after her performance in the last challenge of the superhero movie was given several seconds of screentime, even though Harold's was focused on the most and the title made a pun with his name, suggesting he'd win. She was given a victory was the princess, even the final fight was in her favor since she was inside the tower. Rock n' Roll challenge was somewhat in-character, she definitely proved herself to be physically strong this season, but I'd argue it'd still fit Duncan more.
And then TDAS Zoey... Mal threw the challenge for himself to sabotage Alejandro, she somehow ate faster than the remaining resident Big Eater who can eat dirt, and she doesn't experience major setbacks unlike the others in Episode 12, which comes off as the writers favoring her, especially since she's not a villain so she doesn't even have to be so forcibly kept around.
Hunter's winning streak is the most similar to Zoey's, and she was partially hated for it. Disventure Camp writers are such dedicated fans, I'm sure they must have been aware of this. So are they really trying to make us dislike Hunter?
The worst part is that it could have been easily avoided:
- Just have Lake win in Episode 7 since she threw her ring first, ignore that it fell off. Tess can still be targeted. If others noticed her conditions, they could take pity on her since competition is bound to cause stress and negative experiences. If they didn't get to know her enough and only see her as cold, that's even more of a reason to target her first out of Love Triangle trio.
- I have to admit, Episode 8 is an exception, this was needed there. Nina was smart to realize the alliances need to be more balanced for more drama and interesting plots. So a returning Karol and otherwise targeted Ally and Hunter needed this. Plus, this time it didn't involve Hunter only, another reason to make an exception.
- Just have Hunter lose in Episode 9 like everyone else, for losing his partner along the way and accidentally having his blindfold taken off (a reason why DJ failed the challenge despite completing it). Ally can still be targeted since she's much kinder, so her social game is more of a threat.
See? Hunter being disliked for a reason outside of his control could have been easily avoided.
All in all, still fairly good episode, mostly thanks to Karol and Jaiden. But it definitely brought worst parts of Disventure Camp's writing to the surface.
Since this was so long, let me end on predictions to not sound so negative:
Kristal claimed there are 3 episodes left. This means we'll either have a double elimination before a typical final 2, or we'll have a final 3 in the finale this time.
Knowing Hunter, Rosa will trip, her totem will split in half and fall into his hands, he'll get to use it in two episodes in a row and will win in the finale cuz others tripped or something.
Seriously though, Hunter feels out of place among the remaining 2 duos. I wanted to root for all Love Triangle members, but at this point just make him lose for a change next time and have others vote him off since this is the first chance they've got. Predictable way, but will do some damage control.
I hope Riya and Rosa Maria are next, but they have immunity totem, so they have a high chance to be in final 4, if not further.
Jaiden has a chance to be the final 2 since the last season had all-female final 2 and they have interesting dynamics to keep the finale going even as a relationship. Then again, they plan to rewrite the first season with changed elimination order, so who knows how it'll turn out.
And I hope the finale will resolve the love triangle in a way that does each character justice and doesn't make Hunter come off as even further unsympathetic.

Wich might mean James is the next to be voted out and then Aiden cuz rosa maria has the imunity totem.
So if hunter teamed up with Riya and Rosa they would win cuz they would vote out james and Aiden.Soo the only way Aiden can win is to steal the totem or get imunity twice/once
But James is 100% dead at this point.

I agree so much with you but just one thing. I personally think that Ally pulling out of the kiss could've worked. Like she cares about Tess and doesn't want to start anything with Hunter kind of thing. But it was all over the place until that moment, it just fell flat ig. Honestly kinda disappointing..

Well, there are low chances of both Riya and Rosa being in the final 2, so I should have at least one ending that would satisfy me. Even if they somehow end up having both endings to themselves, I'm more saddened by how they handled my favorite Love Triangle trio (well, Tess excluded, she got the best out of them) than I'd ever be pissed by either Riya or Rosa winning.

Positives:
Riya and Ally were good this episode. And im so sick of everyone saying Riya doesnt do anything. She did plenty of relevant stuff throughout the series, but its just that nobody cares about it.
Connor and Oliver returning was great! And the scene with them and Krystal was probably the highlight of the episode.
Thats about it for the positives, theres far more negative things i have to say about this episode:
Ally leaving because "their alliance was too strong" is such bs, Aiden + James and Rosa + Riya were far greater threats if you ask me.
Hunter and Rosa have plot armor ONCE again. And im getting so sick of it. And now James is getting plot armor too.
Karol leaving RIGHT after reintroducing her was not good.
She was justified in thinking Aiden and James should leave. She probably thought Aiden was in on it as well. And Karol is written like shes in the wrong here? She entrusted Aiden with that spider and he literally sent it to its death. And also, AIDEN was the one to strike first and hit Oliver and Karol. Why are we supposed to root for Jaiden here? It seems like the writers are backtracking and going the "ACTUALLY James was in the right for being manipulative" route, which kinda defeats Aidens whole arc. And the fans are eating it up as usual because most of them are fujoshis.
At least when Riya did something bad, were actually supposed to believe shes in the wrong (she is, but i get where she was coming from)
And this fandom is still at her throat for it. While those same fans are patting Aiden on the back for killing an innocent animal and injuring someone who was (actually) mostly in the right.
Finally, Krystals forced development. Why is she walking on eggshells around Oliver when the point was that he wants her to act like a normal human being? He never said "treat me like a god" he just expected basic human decency. Thats why the opening scene is good. It all just falls apart at the end, though.
Thats about it for the negatives. I honestly think the fandom should stop idolizing Jaiden so much, and also stop being so harsh on Riya. Shes an immigrant whos trying her hardest to fit in, like have some empathy, please.

yeah i have changed my opinions alot by reading the comments. i do agree with you with the "strong alliance comment" ever since tess has gone the alliance has broken down alot and indeed rosa+riya & aiden+james are more stronger. i wish aiden said a different reason or just didn't say anything. we could've had a confessional by him saying like "we got ally out since she fell out of the sled and didn't get immunity, i am glad she didn't because that would've been very difficult to vote. now hunter has no allies" along the lines of that. that would've been more reasonable but ally's elimination was very disappointing and the end was too.

i also agree on the ship "jaiden" yes i am a shipper of that but please don't idolize it too much. it's literally a headcanon and it never has been official. i get yes we do get scenes of them getting close and stuff but i'm getting sick and tired of people being very forceful about this relationship happening. whether it is gonna become canon or not we cannot get our hopes up and the oddnations team feeling like they NEED to include the ship and i feel they are tired of the fans begging for it happen. i bet they love their fans but (idk if this evidence is an official statement from the team or not) if it's not become official they won't change that unless both of them go into another season. i think i heard a source saying that won't change their plans for the episodes or what's happening, they already have everything set up. Frankly why is Aiden calling Karol out for being more likely to hurt a person than an arachnid ? He hit her first , and he doesn't know if Oliver is allergic or not . I like Aiden but those were some Gwen vibes and then Karol never lied either and did try and be nice enough by helping Hunter be less arachnophobic . And frankly she should have sued Riya is hypocritical too ofcourse (still love her ) .
I never was a fan of him and Karol nor did I mind either of them but that part where Aiden said that Karol hit him and James, I was kind of annoyed with him and was like “Bro you told James to hit her first! You’re not so innocent either!”

I see Ally’s reaction making sense to be honest, Hunter has not really been my favorite in the last episodes but I think it makes sense, Ally says that her herself feels a little annoyed at the fact that Hunter had been taking way more control over everything since Tess got eliminated making her feel like she had no say and that she didn’t like it, this whole Ally not accepting Hunter is seen in the episode a lot of times when she carries hunter to the top of the mountain, when she rejects his help to make the sleigh, and she spent some of her lines talking about being excited to see Tess again if she gets eliminated before the elimination ceremony, showing this same excitement to see Tess again as Hunter is taking her to the bus, she seems to also care about what Tess has to say about what’s going between the three of them and even if she maybe liked the kiss which didn’t even look like it that much she did feel bad about sending Hunter’s regards to Tess after the kiss as she was excited prior to the kiss.
I wish they showed this angle better. I'd absolutely be down to see Hunter semi-spiraling after Tess' elimination and it making him more protective and therefore unnecessarily overbearing. But all we see after Tess is gone is
Ep 8: Him standing with Ally, Him and Ally splitting up, Him finding Ally "dead" *and at the time he thought it was real*, and then at the end of the ep he hugs her and she tells him she's fine and he backs off
Ep 9: He suggests to offers tips in what Ally finds to be overbearing
Any development of this is off-screen, unless we count his genuine reaction of joy hugging Ally when he realized she was alive, and that was when he thought SHE WAS ACTUALLY DEAD- and she tells him she's fine and he let's her go. Aside from that I didn't see the offering tips as a bad thing- her confessional admits she finds him overbearing on her but we're told that rather than shown. I would have liked to see more hints throughout 8 and the start of 9 that alluded to this better, and just how badly this sorta made him anxious and more restricting. But again we're told this and just left to accept it because it's Ally saying so and at the end of the episode he kisses her, proving her correct. It feels so anticlimactic when Hunter has seemed normal for the most part to me.
My take is…
Even though Karol was villainous and received a villain’s karma… the true villains are Aiden and James, maybe it was just the eerie music they decided to play during their conversation but Aiden is a hypocrite for deciding to sabotage Karol WITHOUT including James, after Aiden bitched about James not including him in his plans before. But can they make it to the finale? Rosa has a totem and could easily eliminate one of them next episode, would be fun if Rosa gets betrayed, that way more villainous stuff can happen.
Also there’s 3 episodes left and 5 campers remaining so either the next episode or the one after that will have a double elimination.
i personally really like the first half of the episode setting up some things and drama but then the double elimination of karol and ally got my shocked and not in a good way, i dont know what kind of drama will they do now and leaving hunter alone is just no
Same though, the first half got me excited while I was questioning the second half. So in the end I have mixed feelings about the episode. Episode 8 which had my favourite character being eliminated was much better in my opinion and might even be my favourite.
Yeah I found that ending to be extremely confusing too.
Karol could change things. The game for a long time was only dominated by the 3 major alliance, her villaionus would give us different type of eliminations caused by the villain but now its kinda boring that every elimination is caused by an alliance asking other alliance voting together. Even James does nothing villainous. Honestly i love watching villains way more than heroes, they are the spice of the show.
Hey, what we have now could make for some cool corruption arcs (given that there was brief period of time where it looked like we didn't have any villains to work with that's pretty ironic lol). I can think of three routes they could do from here.
Riya - Her potential for this has already been made pretty clear in-story; She feels insecure about her place, and she's dismayed that it seems to survive dirty tactics are apparently needed. If she were to embrace that ethos out of insecurity over her friendships drifting apart, she could really drive the knife into Rosa Maria given that she's her closest confidante.
Hunter - I'm sure others would say the obvious route for him being bad at this point would be to pull a Dave, but I personally don't see it. Instead, I feel like he could really hate himself over not being able to protect Tess and then how he messed up big time with Ally. It'd be interesting to see this self-loathing cause him to become careless, lashing out at others while he feels he has to take the burden of survival on himself.
Aiden - This one is the most interesting of the three to me. In this episode Aiden does sabotage for the first time, probably in response to realising that James was right and wanting to make amends. He's still clearly guilty about it in this instance. However, the way the conversation at the end is fascinating, because after James absolves Aiden of his guilt by praising his strategic manoeuvre, Aiden is the one to initiate physical contact with James, when usually it's the other way around (even James is startled by it at first). This could set up Aiden finally embracing his feelings for James, but manifesting by him feeling he needs to go deeper into skulduggery to protect him from elimination (seeing as he is an easy target due to his past actions). That itself can be taken in multiple directions; maybe James ends up having to talk Aiden down if it goes too far, or maybe the ultimate act of protecting James Aiden has to do is sacrifice his own survival in the game.
James and Rosa Maria I have nothing for, I think they're not in a position to turn antagonist. Which is ironic considering James started as one.
Now, I'm not saying any of this will happen, I'm just spitballing with what's been presented so far.
I was also really shocked by Ally's elimination. I thought for sure she'd be in the finale. Now my current guess for the final two is Aiden and Rosa.
Is it just me or does this episode just makes anyone else strongly dislike Aiden, I mean I never really liked Aiden that much but this episode makes me dislike him more then I already did. Jaiden is to overprotected which leads to me thinking Aiden will be going next because at this point, the story between Aiden and James is running low and even Riya and Rosa are picking up, but also running low in my eyes. I hope James wins honestly.

that was VERY wasted potential just because her leg was hurt. i do agree with her that it isn't as bad as yul's poisoning by james and she should continue even if she struggles with the challenges. she is a strong player and she could've been like heather in season 1, beaten by the players and getting revenge by the two other people playing.

I do hope that Hunter will not be a finalist at least, since the weird immunity he's getting a lot, I just hope it will end like it has done in TDI and TDA where the ones that go get a bit carried by random immunity that like them wouldn't end up as a finalist (Of course different creators, shows and all that, but it had be unfair for Hunter to win it all.)
Ally's reaction felt weird too to me as well, it's nice to see people try to explain it at least so you can try and see it from different perspectives
An interesting thought is Aiden had put them in danger by putting the spider on Oliver’s shoulder to distract them, obviously it is less aggressive but I like to think of Aiden getting more “corrupted” / playing more dirty kind of like Yup tried to poison, now it’s clearly that the poison is the worst thing but it’s kinda hmm to me James reaction to the poison compared to what happened by Aidens actions. One thing is sure he’s playing more dirty but he outright hurt Karol by doing that, which James was fairly against Yul brining up the poison idea since he’s hurting someone.
Idk how much sense that made but I wonder if it just because of his feelings for Aiden if he overlooks it or if they are both just playing a bit more dirty / or just don’t feel guilty (since it’s Karol, I mean James didn’t seem to feel guilty much after getting Yul out but at least Karol never threatened to hurt Aiden I guess at least like how Yul did)
I mean them growing more “corrupted” could help in terms of Riyas story but honestly her story felt kinda weird throughout the episode, like it felt as if she just accepted everyone plays dirty by the end, I wish they showed why she ended up voting Ally, why Ally and Hunter voted for Rosa Maria and such, though Karol did put a lot of doubts into Riya which was great but the end felt odd
Unpopular opinion but I don't think ally is that interesting of a character
I hope the finale is Ria vs James, as they seem to me like the most multi layered personalities
Yeah.. she suffers the same problem as Rosa Maria where they stick around long enough but at this point they haven't done much plot wise, and they feel more like supporting characters

I think I'm the only person who loved this episode. The only thing I hated was the ending and eliminations. Karol should've stayed longer and someone other than Ally should've got voted out. Karol should'nt have gotten injured but she would win immunity because she was the closest to the line and followed all the rules. And for the elimination, James/Aiden would've been voted out and it would be caused by Karol. Karol would convince everyone to vote for either James or Aiden. I'm not sure who should get voted out because I really like Aiden's character but the dram between James and Karol would be interesting. James/Aiden follows the eliminated person to the bus. They declare their love for eachother before the other leaves the camp, they kiss and Jaiden becomes canon. This ending would cause more drama between Karol and James/Aiden, Riya would also have some drama with everyone but mostly James/Aiden, Riya would also be split between Rosa's alliance or Karol's, Jaiden would become canon, Hunter wouldn't have won immunity again, and Ally wouldn't be voted out. Damn, I should become a writer for this show

I think James will end up being the villain
he shouldn't have won karol should have (even tho she did crash) or aiden & james (they rarely win challenges so this could've build them up to be more of a threat). he was the one with the blindfold and he took it off. just to know what was going on. that was literal cheating and he left ally without returning to help her i don't care if he would've been last that was very unfair of kristal giving him a win (kristal should've said "where's ally" or something so he can't get away from winning so unexpectedly) idk if the rules specified but if there wasn't a rule like that, that's sorta just beats the whole point of the challenge. you work with your partner to win and hunter some how doesn't crash even though are a dozen rocks without ally's guidance. (to specify yes ik it's a cartoon and a game show which is normally VERY rigged, but i am putting my opinions out)
I genuinely don't understand why people root so much for Hunter, Ally, and Tess. Like, none of them were ever likeable... Yeah the romance was cute and fun, but that's not a good enough reason to root for them, especially since none of them were ever likeable.
Do I think they changed things to eliminate Ally this episode for production related reasons, yes. Do I think another character should have left instead of her, no, no I do not. Of all characters to get eliminated this episode she was the one I found most likely to go, and yes, I had that thought going into the episode knowing Karol was targeting James and Aiden. All the remaining characters were much more interesting and better than she was... Except Hunter, but it was obvious Hunter was going to make it the furthest in the trio from the very start. Especially since I feel he targetted and interacted with Tess and Ally for strategic gain. Ally leaving made the most sense.
A lot of people like Aiden, but he legitimately hasn't done anything the entire season. This episode with the spider was his first proactive moment within the show as far as strategy goes. So maybe he can improve within the next two episodes, but I personally would rather he got eliminated and leave anyone else to the final three... Do I think that would happen, no. He's probably going to the finale, but I hope he doesn't.
I enjoy Hunter and his relationship with Ally and Tess, I don't want to see him win, but I am cool with him reaching the final three. Personally, I hope he gets eliminated before. The only reason I like ever liked him was because of his Ally and Tess dynamic, but that is gone now.
James has been acting strategically since the very start, he has been involved in multiple eliminations, and proactively reaches for what he wants within the competition. He has a cute romantic potential, he started out mildly antagonistic but has changed throughout the show, this is someone who I can root for.
Rosa Maria, honestly other than having a really good social game and find the totem she hasn't done much, but that's kind of what her strategy is, so it suits her. Her gameplan has been working really well for herself so far. She is also one of the two remaining character whom we know anything of their backstory so far [the other being Riya]. So if she won I would be satisfied with it.
Sure, Riya was unimportant for the first half of the season, but that's what makes her so interesting now, she knows she's in a bad spot and is working strategically because of it. She has the weakest position in the game right now [other than Hunter... But he wins challenges soooo], which makes it fun to root for her, wanting to see how she can turn the situation to her advantage. She has done a LOT. Like James she is someone I can root for.
A lot people are hating Aiden and Riya right now but aren't looking at it in a competitive pov I mean ur in competition one person wants you gone it's not about good or evil it about if you are willing to do bad things In order to stay Riya voted Lake cuz lake was a threat like Heather said "we aren't here to make freinds we're here to win"
Riya booted out Lake for a justified reason. She was a big threat challenge wise and if it came down to Rosa Maria choosing her or Lake, she was gonna choose Lake because they were closer.
Riya also didn't sabotage Lake in challenges. Aiden did. Aiden got a woman's leg broken and pet killed and acted like the victim the whole time.
The thing is, what Riya did WAS actually for strategic purposes and had a good reasoning behind it. She didn't hate Lake, in fact I still she considers her a friend, but knew that her and Rosa were closer to each other. And plus, the show and Riya both know that what she did was wrong and acknowledge that.
Purposfully kicking the sleigh first, breaking a woman's leg, killing the spider(which he also purposfully put in danger plus Oliver and Karol) and then have the audacity to call out Karol for trying to "hurt" him isn't called strategy, it's called being a hypocritical and whiny bitch. And on top of that, I'm almost convinced that the show unironically, no joke, with a serious face trys to tell us that we should SYMPATHISE with Aiden and that he was IN THE RIGHT HERE. Which, if that is true, what the actual fuck man?
I hope that my suspicions aren't true and that Aiden becomes antagonistic, gets karma, and understands that what he did was wrong. That would be a cool storyline.
If, on the other hand, Aiden comes off on top and is still considered a "hero", then, I'm sorry, but fuck this show and fuck Aiden. This is a plotline that even All-Stars wouldn't do, because it's just morally incorrect.

I believe Ally not wanting to kiss Hunter/not liking it doesn't really make sense, she didn't mind kissing him before as far as we've seen and suddenly it feels like Ally is not interested in him at all in this episode. She didn't mind being close to him when Tess was in the camp but now she's gone she doesn't want to? Idk something feels off about Ally in this episode, somehow very distant of Hunter for not a very good reason. I understand Hunter somehow being controlling with them but he's actually not that bad, like he makes sure Tess and Ally are both satisfied, so Ally treating him distantly this episode for me was a shocker plus something that didn't make sense.
