We go there about 4 times per ice season. We still struggle to catch walleye, they are always finicky for us. Perch are easy to catch there, and the walleye seem to be easier to get if you go on a weekday before the lake gets hammered with machines.
I just watched this video, and enjoyed it. I love the homemade shuttle you have for your sonar unit. would you be willing to send me some pics of just the shuttle so I can jury rig something similar for my LX-7?
Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately I dont own a cell phone anymore but I have been meaning to make a video on my sonar setup. All I did was search "homemade ice sonar//homemade flasher box" etc to look at google image results of everyones kits and then came up with my own basic wooden box. I built it in one night and it was super simple. My kit is everything but lightweight lol. I started with a certain battery for 2 years and then upgraded to one that was an extra 4lbs to ensure 2-3 day trips would not be an issue with short overnight charging. After 4 years next to a buddy that uses a vexilar, I still am a bigger fan of the true sonar/GPS kits even though the flasher system does have its pros over mine. I mount mine to the front quad rack and use it as my map going to the spots! Just use google images and see what you come up with. Maybe ill come out with that video before ice season starts!
This was a lake in the central northern zone!
Oneida?
Youve guessed it!!
@@ripptydevibes2581 how often you go there?
@@ripptydevibes2581 can you put me on any?
