What a GREAT opening number for the 1977 US Tour ! ! ! Wow, if only they couyld have pro shot show of the better '77 shows for posterity... When I listen to TSRTS version, I'm thinking 1977 :-))
I honestly love how this sounds tuned down a whole step, and I also enjoy the alterations that Page put on the intro. Haven't heard him play it like that anywhere else.
I love that Robert's mannerisms and gestures in this one are exactly like the old days.
OMG!!!!!! Words cannot describe! This is the best I have heard Robert Plant's voice in many years. Jimmy IS A MONSTER!!!! I think that having Jason with them gives them their one and only Zep demon tweek! They need you Jason!

Agreed. This show is coming out on DVD/CD/Blu-Ray btw if you haven't heard. Saw it in theaters-spectacular!
This is one of those songs that gets better the faster it's played. But it's good when the slow part is extra slow as well. I wish this version was a little faster but it's still great!

There was a time when Plant said he'd never play Stairway again. His comment is refering back to the 1988 Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary performance they did, where Ahmet introduce them with Phil Collins and Robert Townsend. Plant supposedly refused to play Stairway in the set and it went right up to the moment when they played it where he decided to do it.
On my tape of the '88 concert, Plant clearly sugnals to begin Stairway with a long pause with his head bowed and says " ... Okay".

@ohblimey21 hey, honestly man idk... a friend randomly gave me this dvd and all i know is it said the sound was remixed and remastered in PCM Stereo , whoever mixed it did a great job!!!
These clips are great Rambleon. So much better than the shite that comes from peoples phones. How did you get the sound to get so good with bass and everything?
