Tim, like yourself, is a class act. Tim is such an unsung guitar great. Always glad to see Tim get the much deserved recognition
Tim is so talented but modest too. Always enjoy watching him play and talk about guitars. Norm too of course!
The legend is that those 25.5"-scale necks (minus the fretboards and nuts) came from the Epiphone overstock that Gibson got from the acquisition -- IOW, that Texan is a true Gibson-Epiphone hybrid instrument. I like this one better that most of the old J-45s and J-50s I've heard over the years -- and that finish checking/crazing is about as "vintagey" as it gets.
Tim- maybe the nicest guy in music that matters.
The Texan sounds great , especially played by master Pierce.
Had one of these years ago.
Taking out the nuts and bolts, holding down the bridge, makes this guitar sound much better.
Thanks for the show Norm.
Good stories. Let Tim play more please.
Golden slumbers all you guitar lovers.
Love these "hidden" legendary guitar players 😍🎸🎶
Tim Pierce another Great Legend Norm, thanks. Always a blessing to tune into Normans Rare guitars, never know who will stop buy and wow us with their talents. Norm you are a LEGEND!
❤💯🙏
Man, Tim is such a killer player, and a great guy to boot. Awesome looking Epi there.
Hey Norm, i have my dad's 1964 Epiphone Texan but it has the original black plastic "ebony" bridge. Looks and sounds great :)
Parallelogram on fretboard.
I usually don’t watch your videos about acoustics, but Tim gotta watch
I saw a picture of one of the studios Clapton was recording in and I think I saw three epiphone Texans in the picture. Love you Tim love all you guys at norms. God bless.
This is the first time for me to hear Tim play an acoustic.
Tim Pierce is the MAN
Does anyone besides me miss Mark Agnesi??? I loved his guitar off the day videos. Gave great information about the guitar and played great. I like some of the others as well but I guess he will always be my favorite
Tim Pierce - LEGEND!
Tim is such a great guy and, one hell of a musician.!!!
Norm and all you guys are such good old boys! I love you all from Wellington New Zealand 👍🤠🤘🎸🎵🎶😊♥️🍻🌳🏞️🌄🌌
Tim one of my many UA-cam teachers!!!! He is amazing!!!
Wonderful show guys!! And with a guitar that is a legend in itself!! Not enough time with Tim , lol , but as proprietors all know too well.......its all about the business!!lo!! Thanks , ron
It sure would've been nice to hear him play the Texan a little more.
Yeah once you get Norm going …..
Peter Frampton wrote his two biggest hits on a Texan, IIRC.
And Paul McCartney wrote the most covered song ever on his Texan. Yesterday
Cool I love to change the world ten years after
MR. HARRIS, LOOKING GOOD SIR! God bless you and your family
Ten years after!!
Nice to see a gentleman who doesn't play over Norm when he's talking, if you get me 😉
It's always a treat seeing and hearing Tim and having him sit in with Norman is all the more special. 'Great Flat Top Friday and what a great Guitar, it has the sound, look and the veracity (please let it be called "Verity"). 😎❤
just WOW. Tim, Norman, and that amazing guitar! Love the hippy cat paint. I think I'll practice now.
I enjoyed following along always so much to learn many Thanks Norm Tim and yes the Epiphone Texan would be a good acoustic with its big tone
Norm does such great interviews.
The late, great Bill Morrissey played a Texan. It’s a shame that only a small number of people know who he is. One of our great songwriters. Please check out “Birches,” “inside,” “These Cold Fingers,” “Barstow,” the list goes on… RIP Bill.
Another wonderful player! Really good string of talent turning up at Norms.
I seem to remember an advertisement in which Peter Frampton praised the Texan he had owned for some time. He said he had written many of his best known songs on it.
Hi Norman you look great happy 4u god bless you
Love Neil Giraldo! 🎶🎸👍
😅 I was learning guitar from Tim on the stream vlog UA-cam,then I had my finger accident, with my left finger getting permanently almost straightened, can’t bend it at all on, ,I never knew cords or notes by name , just ear, and now can’t play at all, no one wants to help me now , oh well, 7 years now since I played, thanks Tim and Jen and Norman. Thanks BigAl California.
So sorry I hope it will get better one day. As for me getting old means arthritis on both thumbs. I hope it gets better 🙏❤️🎸☮️
Great 60’s tones!🎶🎸👍
More Tim!
Met tim at angel city guitars in woodland hills what a nice guy he is….🤙🏼
One of the best guitarist to come out of Albuquerque.
Name me another one!
Hard working dude
Total video time, 14:50. Total playing time, 00:35. Alrighty then.
I wonder why Cousin Joe wasn't there this day .... Tim and Joe could have jammed together .
OMG that guitar n Tim what a combo sounds so go😅
Almost as cute as #AngelaPetrilli. She would kill for that hand painted case.
That's a nice fiddle
That’s the Peter Frampton guitar
How did you get Tim ? He must need a new guitar 😂. He’s the greatest
It’s a parallelogram Norm
AWESOME guitar
If I buy that guitar will I sound as good as Tim Pierce?
Parallelograms?
👌😎
👍✌❤😎
This one has the 2/16th nut width. Ok, maybe not that skinny, it’s unnaturally skinny in my opinion.
Is the saddle ridiculously thick or is that more than just the saddle?
How much for a Tim Pierce played guitar???
paralelogram inlays...?
Runnaway sounds like a Pat Benatar song🤯
Is This about the epiphone texan or Bob Dylan ??
A whole lot of talking and not enough playing. I love talking about guitars but it would have been nice to hear him play a complete song
Yeah, the least playing in any GOTD I’ve ever seen. But then again, Tim Pierce……so…..🤷♂️👍
Wahhhhhh!
Agreed
Anyone know the song he plays at 12:33?
"I'd Love to Change the World" is a song by the British blues rock band Ten Years After. Written by Alvin Lee
@@leafamania1 Thanks. Great song!
Norm.
You have to write these stories down. Or dictate them so someone else can write them down. It's important that these little bits of history get recorgan so they don't get forgotten. I actually think it's your responsibility to do that. I believe it's important.
#Norm has a song called #Temptation? Ironic, since the whole vintage guitar shop is the embodiment of #Temptation. HaHa
KQEO by day, KOMA at night…
The sound on this video has an awful lot of static. 🙁
Is NRG going out of business? It seems as if he is touting the sell-off of the warehouse. When the guitars are gone-so is the business?
One of the best, if not the best session players around these days, but Norm just allows him to noodle a little bit. This was disappointing for me.
Barely a note.
Oh well.
"Trapezoid"
Pararallogram?
I'm afraid I didn't think it sounded good at all. I had to wait a long time before he played a note.
Those adjustable bridges are tone killers.
I’m sorry but this lady is lying through her teeth
Tim puts off a super satanic vibe to me...He really creeps me out...
I've got a 69 Olympic. Outstanding simple guitar. Neck is amazing
