how to seal it?
After you use so this, can you then stain on top of this to achieve a specific look or color?
We have 1950's red oak, I believe. We are thinking about the iron acetate floors but would like to distress and whitewash. Can a paint whitewash be done on top of this? And then we need to apply a poly top coat. We were thinking waterborne poly like Bona Traffic, Bona Traffic HD or Streetshoe. What do you think?
Grace Perez this does not work very well with red oak. It is best on white oak, which is shown here. Your floor would look nothing like this.....this is also called “fuming”
why not use a garden sprayer ??

No. It is basically just changing the chemistry of the wood by oxidising the tannins. I would use a finishing oil over the top of it.
This does need to be sealed right? Like if you spilled coffee on it it would stain that area if we don’t seal it with some type of sealer?
