Agreed, great to get him out there, it's been a while since just the two of us went out camping or fishing. He enjoyed it and will definitely bring him out more next year. Hoping he'll still be able to!!
Nice video, Derek Your dad; he is keeping the motto alive "Age is just a number."😍😜 Your tent always gets some interest 😊. Thanks for taking us along.✌️
Haha yeah, dad watched the video this afternoon and he's raring to go again, maybe even try winter camping for the first time 😂 Wish they still made that tent,, it's so modular that you can just take what you need for a trip.
Yup, good to bring him out camping while he's still under 80 years young and able to enjoy the experience 👍👍👍 His favorite thing to do is just go out there and have a camp fire and use his camp tools like saw and axe 😂
Hey dude. First watching any of your videos...I was pretty impressed ...great little get away...bet your dad really enjoyed it...I know I did...I think you got a new subscriber 👍take care
Thanks for watching. My dad really enjoyed the trip, he's excited to go again when the weather warms up, or even try winter camping when it gets milder 😁
Yeah it was a nice trip. We stayed at site 204 on Rathbun. It was a good site with an easy landing with a mix of beach and a big rock to sit on. decent sized tent pad and lots of room around the campfire and picnic table.
Thanks for watching! The white one that I use is a discontinued Hyperlite Mountain Gear Echo 2, my dad was using his Eureka Taron 3, also discontinued. If you're looking for a tent similar to mine that is still in production, you can try the Yama Mountain Gear Cirriform.
Amazing experience shared with your dad and an unforgettable memory created

Such a nice quick relaxing trip. So nice to get out with the “old man”. :)
Yeah it was a nice trip. The wind made it interesting though!
Great video Derek what a great thing to be able to get out with your dad at that age
Thanks Evan, was inspired to bring him out there from some of your videos where you hang out with your dad!!! 🙂
Good one Derek, your dad is doing some of those portages better than people half his age.
Yup, he has always been quite active, maybe that where I get my portaging blood from 😂
