You forgot to mention that GBP has also weakened as a currency - so purchasing power has gone down and making remittances back to India even more unattractive. It seems a family of four needs a family income of GBP 85000 (in London) and GBP 65000 (in other cities) just to get by. Factoring in high taxes in UK, that means not much savings (the very reason for going to UK).

You can rent a room for a low price like 350 euro and if you manage to grab a reasonable wage, working in igaming seems to be a big thing, then you will do well here. You may want to shop around! Im the recruitment manager for a private medical company and we pay our GPs £100k a year and thats considered low! You can live reasonably comfortably on £76k a year, i earn a similar amount but it wont take you nearly as far as it did a couple of years ago.

I have lived in Newcastle for more than a year and am planning to move to Maidenhead/ Reading in the coming months. To answer your question and after doing analysis, Newcastle is way cheaper and a good place to live with family. Good schools, warm welcoming people and less cost of living as compared to other cities in the UK.

Isn't it obvious? People don't go to UK for the "good" British weather. They go there to make money - economic migrants. If that is not fulfilled, then why would you go to UK? Do the math, and make your decision.
The figs have been taken from the govt website. How much you require to a large extent depends on where you live and how much you pay for accommodation. You live in London in an expensive part, its not just the accommodation costs, but heating, property tax etc that add up.

No recession in India is what is better. I'm not harping on about India here tbh as I too am moving to the UK next month. Quality of life definitely seems to be better in the UK. Especially after living for 3 years in the Netherlands.
