I’m a truck driver from Weirton West Virginia. I make deliveries to the Tesla gigafactory right outside sparks Nevada. I seen the wild horses near there. What majestic and beautiful creatures. I love it
@@mixup98 Wells! But yes I pass right through Wendover. another thing is that view at sunrise right as soon as you top the peak of that mountain heading east right before Wendover. It’s breathtaking… You have a very beautiful state!
When I lived in Nevada a few years ago, my, then, roommate and myself visited the national park, 'Red Rock'. It was here that I witnessed my first herd of wild mustangs. In a word: breath-taking... ABSOLUTELY one of the most hair-raising experience of my life. Take it from me ---as I'm sure many here will attest -- it's a stunning sight. The experience was made more memorable simply, at the moment, we weren't even thinking about horses... and that's when the herd spontaneously appeared as if from nowhere. Love the video, and what individuals like this gentleman do to bring much needed attention to, surely, an American treasure. Thanks... :)
I had a similar experience while traveling on white horse pass in Nevada. Herd of wild horses came roaring by and ran up a game trail. I pulled over the car and whistled at them while they were on the ridge with the salt flats in the back drop vista. They stopped and stared at me for a little...then the lead horse made a call and just like that they were gone. It was one of thee most incredible things I’ve ever witnessed. Something about that made my spirit want to run free and graceful like those horses. Simply Majestic!
I can't adequately describe how wonderful it is to know there are parts in our country that still have magnificent, wild, and free animals. Thank you for sharing your video.
Very Cool...I Discovered 2 Herds Just East Of Carson City In Dayton Last Summer...They Eventually Came Right Up To Me...They Were More Curious Than I Was...Haha..! Beautiful Animals Indeed.!
Good condition on them, may as well run free as the Antelope and Elk do. So long as the free range can support all they will survive. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah Ive been wanting to get out more to see some wildlife around here a few people have told me there's a few places around Vegas where you wouldn't even think your near vegas with tons of wildlife a lot of people don't realize how much beautiful landscape and wildlife Nevada has great video!!
Greatly enjoyed this audio-video. It's one of the nicest I've seen. The wild horses are returned natives to North America and as post-gastric digesters they actually complement all the preponderance of ruminant grazers such as pronghorn, elk, deer, bison, etc. They more greatly build soils and seed plants than ruminants and so help the latter. See my book The Wild Horse Conspiracy, available on amazon and now in updated version and with a lot of pictures.
Thanks for this. As an old (and I mean old) Nevada boy myself, I love to see that country side! I have been living in the east for many years, but never stop thinking of my home in Nevada.
Pam S ...I hoping to do another wild horse video sometime in the near future, weather permitting. Thanks for the comment and I really appreciate you watching my video.
I've never seen a wild horse in southern Nevada but we sure have plenty here in the north. We only have about five or six weeks of summer left up here and then it's going to slowly cool down. Come on up while the weather is nice :)
Cody...I lived in southern Nevada for many decades before moving up north. I do miss the desert tortoise, sidewinders and diamondback rattlesnakes though.
First, I have to admit that I am very jealous that you were able to experience the beauty and freedom of our mustangs - beautiful footage! Nice big Elk in there, too. Thanks for the shout-out by the way :)
Augie....I've been busy lately and all is well. Between my full time job and deer hunting I've been a little behind on my videos. I'm hoping to make a few more videos before winter gets here. Living at an altitude of 6400 feet means winter will be here in another three or four weeks. Thanks for checkin' up on me :)
Excellent video. Those are some very beautiful horses. I have lived in NV for over 25 years and have not seen one wild horse yet. I think I'm in the wrong part. Even while traveling through the state I've only seen mule deer, burros, rabbits, coyotes and a golden eagle. We were planning on heading up to Cave Lake next week but it appears to be hot up that way. I want to get away from Vegas for a few days!
Didn't see any elk, but did see a few deer by the lake just as the sun was setting. My son caught a bunch of rainbow trout. I watched your other video on the Belmont mill and it looked awesome so we decided to take a day trip yesterday. Well I made a huge mistake and we ended up in the town of Belmont but the mill wasn't there. I found out that there is Belmont and also the Belmont mill which is not the same. It was a fun trip anyways and saw lots of wild burros. Another day...
Great videio. my girlfriend has two appaloosas it cost a small fortune to take care of them, hay, grain, shoes. teeth etc.not to mention saddles/ tack You wonder how well these guys are doing.
Wow an old one who knows how many are still out there after the round up the judge could not stop,And I got one and broke her. They are not like domestic horses. And I would not trade her in for anything. That's why I will leave before I sell her.And I have a quarter horse Cooper Poco Tivios is her blood line and she's grate Love her demeanor and gentleness.Never owned horses before but they have brought life back into me.
Just got back from your area. We went to Wheeler Peak at Great Basin National Park, Lehman Caves and our favorite spot, Cave Lake. We hit one heck of a thunder storm while driving home yesterday, even saw as the lightning struck a small brush fire which quickly smoldered out in the heavy rain. You are lucky to live where you do. As soon as I saw Vegas it made me sad to be home. We saw quite a few horses but don't know if they were wild or not? We caught a bunch of Rainbows at Cave Lake.
I should've been a cowboy I should've learned to rope and ride Wearing my six-shooter riding my pony on a cattle drive Stealing the young girl's hearts Just like Gene and Roy Singing those campfire songs Oh I should've been a cowboy!
Wow. I had no idea that many wild horses were still around. When you say they are protected by government, what do you mean? As in someone getting one taming him and riding, killing or both? Awesome video bro, and thanks for sharing!!
Sounds like you guys had a great trip. Cave Lake is absolutely beautiful and maybe I'll do a scenic video on it this summer. I get to Vegas usually once every couple of months and it always feels good to get back home and out of the rat race. See any elk up around the lake?
How did I miss this Vid, Got to see some Free Roaming horses near Montello Nv. It was an Awesome Sight to See. But you say that you miss the "desert tortoise, sidewinders and diamondback rattlesnakes" The Desert tortoise would be ok to see but not those Dang Snakes. So far, I haven't seen a snake on my 10 acre parcel but I know an encounter is coming sometime soon. Luv the Vid..
Sorry for the late reply....been out of town. To harm or kill one of these protected horses is a felony. The feds will occassionally round up some of these horses and sell them to the public. You can actually buy one of these beautiful animals after a background check is conducted and a fee paid.

Yes indeed, they are beautiful creatures. I assume you take 80 through Utah and Nevada, and you probably gas up in Wendover, NV. 👍😎

Probably the most beautiful wildlife i’ve ever seen, wild horses and antelope running free in the hills
And Elk!!!!
What beauties they are. Wild and free, as it should remain. Thank you.
I feel like a need to see these horses in person the are GOREOUS
I can't adequately describe how wonderful it is to know there are parts in our country that still have magnificent, wild, and free animals. Thank you for sharing your video.

I wish that people could just observe horses from a distance. they are so much more beautiful when they get to do what they want to do
Beautiful.
I was the proud owner of a b.l.m. burro at one time they make great work animals for packing and for wagons and sleds
mustangs represent everything that freedom means to me. keep running!
I wanna go back in time.
Such a well done video of our great wild West! Thank you!
You're welcome Sharon and thank you for the great comment.
That's amazing that they are protected by the government and can live free and wild like they were meant too.they are beautiful.
Good condition on them, may as well run free as the Antelope and Elk do. So long as the free range can support all they will survive. Thanks for sharing.
one of my favorite songs by Toby Keith. I told my wife to play it at my funeral (many decades from now I hope).

You're welcome Sylvia and thank you for watching my video.

marina bryssinck ....thanks Marina :)
All the horses that I have seen lately all appear to be in excellent condition. We had a mild winter and that always helps the horse population here.
Wow! Amazingly tasteful video! Thank you!
You're welcome Terry and thank you for watching my video.
Love all your videos but this is by far one of your best. Never been to Nevada but this makes me want to plan a trip. :)

Very awesome, the way they need to stay....forever.
Hey, neat video! I now have family living south of Reno and when I visit we like to look out for these animals.

Thanks Johnny. I'm hoping to shoot an elk video this fall and I'm hoping to get some close-up video of some huge elk in this area.

God's beautiful creation
This is such a beautiful video. I wonder if we can use a few seconds within a documentary about someone familiar with this landscape and loves horses?
Hello hazelwood. Thank you for the nice compliment regarding my video. And yes, you have my permission to use a few seconds (or longer) of my video.
Nice video
