    Run free forever America owes these horse their freedom. Where would it be without the horses mules and donkeys who carried the pioneers and helped build the America we have today. Beautiful icons of USA don't lose them. 2022 and we need to protect them even more.

    Absolutely beautiful, Sandy!
    Our Nation's beautiful wild horses among the mountain's wild flowers...
    Glorious loveliness and serene open space, priceless freedom and companionship, a celebration of life, of health and of nature.
    Why must our government be hellbent on taking this away?! Greed and corruption will not be allowed to destroy this without a fight!

      And now it is 12 years later, and we are fighting still. So many beautiful horses have been removed and even killed. 60,000 languishing and dying in secretive holding. Heartbreaking to look back to this today and know how utterly useless our fighting has been... so far. And on we go.

    Has it already been a year since we visited the Pryors? Gosh. Good to see Cloud and Bolder. I miss Shaman but his spirit will still be running free over the Pryor Mountains. Thanks for sharing this video.

    Amazing at 0:16 the family herd of five are the same ones I saw in August 2010. I was amazed by how close you could get to them they walked right up to about 20 - 25 feet of where i was taking pictures, and it looked like someone had walked right up to the stallion and petted him on the rear (maybe a smack on the rear as part of a dare idk) but there looked to be a dusty hand print, they stood there with us for well over a half hour while we were just admiring them

    +Sandy Palen/ WildInThePryors Dear Sandy: greetings from New York City to you from the Pryor mountains of Montana and Wyoming and beautiful film back in 2010(9 years ago). Can you please make longer and newer videos about my favorite horse breed the mustangs?!!! Thanks 😘 🇺🇸 👍 🌎 🦅 🐎 💙

  • @conrocapub
    @conrocapub 13 років тому +1

    Read about these Pryor Mountain mustangs of ours, THE LAST GOOD HORSE by David Martin Anderson (novel was just released), then you'll really understand the slaughter of these majestic creatures that took place during the 1930s and why they are so precious now.

    A pop quiz after listening to Ian Tyson:
    1. What do the conquistadors, the comanches and the cowboys have in common?
    2. Of the three groups of men, which group would sing sad songs and which group always treated the horses with kindness?

    • @just4fame
      @just4fame 7 років тому

      I bet all three of the groups did some of what you said, but probably the comanches if i had to guess.

  • @mistyraestables

    I noticed Sitka and Cloud never had a surviving foal.Dusty died, The blue roan that was never named died, She never mentioned Storm after he was born, and flint was not Cloud's foal

    • @matthewcruz7327
      @matthewcruz7327 5 років тому +2

      The only one that lived to adulthood was Damsel. She died in 2014. I have been thinking the same of why the blue roan filly was never named and Dusty was Scarlett/Velvet's son and also Cloud's. Storm died in the spring of 2004.
      I wish I had seen your comment earlier!

    So I had to check but the pale palomino foal is Echo (blm killian) and the filly he's playing with at 4:59 is kicks-a-lot... I can't find any info on this filly... I have a horrible feeling that I read a post about her death at some point. If anyone knows more about her I'd love to know, at first I thought this was image and ember because both image and ember look very similar to these two at this age- image has an entirely dark muzzle but from a distance it can appear pinkish brown in colour and ember only has a star on her forehead. Echo has socks and a blaze with a nearly entirely pink muzzle where as image has no white markings to speak of.

      Sh was adopted by someone and is still living with her. 😀

    • @sandyelmore490
      @sandyelmore490  7 місяців тому

      Also his video was made before either kicks or Echo were born. It is Killian, not Image. Image was removed in 2009.

    Was that Cloud in this video? or a relative.. I wish I could see them in person..
    Even better I wish I could raise the money to adopt a band and allow them to live and die free.
    The 2018 budget cuts for our wild horses will likely case them to become extinct.
    Those making money selling cows for steaks are now taking precedence over the public lands instead of the amazing wild horses who helped to build America. They are National Treasures and we are putting slaughter houses back as a solution in 2018. We have wild horses that have been stick in holding areas that are so crowded the horses can barely move. And many have lived like that for over 3 years. It would have been far more humane to have put a bullet in their heads and let them die free.
    If anyone has space to take some of them, adopt them, donate money to lease or buy land for them to finish their lives in Freedom. I fear this is the last chance to help them before they are gone forever. We now live in an immoral world that only values what is making you money today.
    How sad and unfair.

    Hurry to see the Pryor horses, because the BLM is plsnning to remove more than half, down to nonviable numbers. They have not yet told the public the dates. Please pray for them. Contact them with your disapproval. All support for them is important.
