This song was originally written and performed when Jinjer was a 5 piece band and there was a rhythm guitar, when he left they re-arranged their stuff a bit to compensate. All the stuff they've written since then is perfectly suited for a 4 piece.

Their 1st guy was actually the Lead Guitar player. Roman was, and really is currently, mostly a rhythm player.

I always prefer their live videos. They always put on a great show. If you have not reacted to "Who is Gonna be the One" (Live, Napalm Records) it is well worth your time. This live performance is taken from the same concert "Words of Wisdom" was recorded at. The band was amazing that day.

Interesting choice to go with Cloud Factory, it's the title track of their debut album and they had 2 guitarists back then. It's always good to see where a band has come from musically compared to where they are now so I hope your next reaction is to something more recent like Teacher Teacher, Home Back, Vortex or Mediator. Those songs are also written with only 1 guitar and bass in mind so there's a lot less unison playing and dead space.

I feel like context matters here. As others have noted, this song was written and recorded with an additional member on rhythm guitar. You should go back and listen to the studio version (OMW). That does mean, however, that your comment about missing another guitar was spot on. This song comes from their 2nd album - of the same name ( Cloud Factory, 2014). Looking for something right up your alley? Try Sit, Stay, Roll Over (OMV), Captain Clock - Live at Resurrection Fest, Ape (OMV), as well as all the other suggestions.

Jinjer - On the Top (live in Kiev)

Jinjer - Outlander (uploaded by failure .color). This is older Jinjer when they were a 5 piece along with a different drummer.even today, one of, if not their best.

This is an awkward request as a second song from Jinjer.. there are plenty of more impressive live songs from them.
    Who's gonna be the one.
Perennial live at Wacken 2019 (Best live of theirs)
    I speak Astronomy from Summerbreeze
On the Top live in Kiev
Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev.. second best live of theirs.
Great analysis of the song though.

I have to agree about right hand (pick hand) importance in playing guitar. I had been a drummer in a number of bands from the age of 15 and also dabbled in guitar. I decided to get serious about really learning guitar when I was 25 and sought help from a great player I had been in a previous band with. I was already familiar with chords, a few scales, and some very basic theory & methods (CAGED, circle of fifths, Nashville numbering, etc), but the advice my friend gave was what took my playing to a higher and more musical level. He said, “Playing guitar is teaching your right hand to dance. Your fret already knows where to go because of repetition and muscle memory. You can have all the left hand technique in the world, but if you can’t get the rhythm patterns and picking techniques down, you’ll always sound like a beginner.” Maybe that advice won’t work for everyone, but it did for me. After I dedicated more time to right hand technique, my playing became more fluid and more musical, finally getting me over that hump from just being able to recreate or mimic other players and their compositions to being able to compose my own original music. Great advice and great reaction. Also, I never stopped drumming after picking up guitar, so Vlad is one of my current favorites. Super original, musical, and just a beast of a complete musician.

  • @bernhardkulzer9125

They played that song which was made for two guitars now with only one. 😁🤘
That was an early song of theirs from the ablum before "Pisces". To see their true capability you should try out some of their later stuff. With the leaving of Dmitry, their original first guitarist and the joining of Vlad they now found their true band. Vlad is originally a classically trained pianist who was urged into drums later on. From "Micro" on you feel his influence and most of their newest album "Wallflower" he has composed.
"Teacher, teacher", "Judgement and Punishment" (vocal one-take) would be good songs to get into their more complex songs and then, of course, "Wallflower", "Vortex" or "Mediator". Actually they do not have the ability to write a bad song, as people wiser than me have already stated... 😁👍

There aren't too many Jinjer fans that will disagree with you about Vlad. His musical pedigree is impressive but his drumming is completely self taught and just on another level. Next time you come back to them we won't disagree with you if you praise Roman and his guitar work. Or if you lean in to Eugene and his bass. Truth is all these folks are jaw-droppingly incredible!

Don't know this one going in, but honestly I've never heard a bad Jinjer song. They are absolutely as good live, if not better. It's weird but Tatiana's musical role model when she was young was Gwen Stefani. Vlad is honestly one if the best drummers in the world. Lately Eugene the bassist has almost been playing lead, with Roman on guitar supporting the vocal line, harmonizing, and yeah filling that empty air. Thing about Jinjer is they are always evolving, getting better even in the space of an album. That was Pices you did. I can testify she can do it live. The most distinct thing they brought to modern metal was groove like Zeppelin and Deep Purple had groove. And yeah they're Ukrainian, and Russian speaking. And you're going to like each song better if it's newer. Nobody will disagree with you about Vlad. He started as a pianist and brought that musical sense with him to drums. As far as Tatiana goes she's always getting better Fair score, great reaction!

Perrenial (live at Wacken) or Teacher, Teacher ( official video or live Melbourne). This song is only really appreciated when you learn it was heavily modified for the lost of a rhythm guitarist.
Jinjer has been through many band-mates for many reasons. And the current setup is not made of any of the originals band members. Tati (and I think Eugene) is the oldest members, so far. And they actually want to get a fifth member, but their work schedule is completely hectic and they haven't found a suitable match for them.

I gotta say, your choice for a second listen to Jinjer, though one of my very faves of this band back in the day, Cloud Factory could've waited a little longer....For an immediate second listen, after Piscis, Who's Gonna Be The One, Teacher Teacher, or Perennial Live At Wacken would've been probably more suited, as an introduction to their live work...

Vlad didn't write any of the drum parts for this song. Eugene Mantulin was the drummer on their first album, and he was every bit a beast like Vlad. Sadly he broke his back in a tragic accident and became paralyzed from the waist down. I would be curious to hear your reaction to the official video for this song which features Mantulin on drums and Dmtriy Oksen on rhythm guitar.

I love Cloud Factory, too! As for the latest album, it's very subjective. I love every song on Wallflowers, and so do most of the Jinjer fans I've seen, but I understand not every song can be for everyone and I'd add that for me, for some Jinjer songs, I didn't follow all of the complexity on the first listen (like Mediator), but I usually end up liking those songs more than ones I liked immediately because it's somehow very satisfying once the complexity clicks for me. As for lyrics, every time I've read Tatiana's (and in a few songs Eugene's) lyrics, I've loved them immediately, no second take needed, but again not all lyrics can be for everyone. I still keep every Jinjer song on my playlist and still love each one more every time I hear it.
