Removal and Installation of 2008 Audi A6 MMI Control Module for repair. - Авто та транспорт
I spilled an ice tea on my console and it started malfunctioning turning on and off. The keys were sticking and seemed to be causing the problem. This video helped me take it apart and remove the MMI module. Afterwards I opened the MMI case and removed the circuit board. I then remove the rubber casing and sprayed a traffic lane cleaning agent for carpet on the keys both front and back: Note- I did not spray the circuit board itself.
I soaked it in hot water after spraying it for 15 minute, took it out and blow dried it. To test it I simply put the module back together and plugged it in and it worked. Just make sure it's dried well before plugging it in. Thanks
this was great, mmi had water damage and menu/radio was shut down permanently gonna swap it out with a fresh motherboard, thank you
I've only just picked up on this subject after a small coffee spill in my A6 & your video popped straight up. It's straight to the point & already dismantled, so cuts out the boring bits & best of all.... no BS waffle being drolled out by a Jabber Jaw!! Good stuff you guys 10/10!!
Thank you for this video, I just bought a 2011 A6 Allroad and after a few weeks the MMI control buttons were sticking down and only working occasionally. Watching this video showed me how to strip it down and clean the MMI unit. Looked like a coffee spillage passed on from the previous owner.

How do i remove the buttons from the wooden part that you removed? The chrome trim around the shifter as well, i have a 2009 Audi S6 and my 'map' button is showing wear. thanks!

Hi just to let you all know to remove the control panel remove the chrome trim then push the the control panel from underneath and it will pop out
Nice video. A couple comments... you do not need the audi tools. Just wrap some floss or some wire through and back out and you can pull it out. Also the removal is easy but some may find disconnecting the wiring the more difficult part of the job.
Did you have problems with the unit? I had water go in from a worn out sunroof seal. Still checking options, from what I hear if it's only water just cleaning the boards should do it.
Is this the same procedure for the 2007 audi Q7 as well?
Would it be possible to clean the mmi board to see if it will function normally after the clean? if so what cleaner would you use? thanks
If it has corrosion and caused by coffee, soda or water, you can use water first to remove the corrosion then spray WD40 all over the board and switches.

I have a 2010 Audi A6 s-line which the cd changer works perfectly and play cds, the display also turns on with no issues however whenever I can for stations it picks up nothing on any frequency, am, fm etc
Most likely the tuner module in the trunk is bad or it could be the antenna also but very unlikely.

I changed mmi and parking brake but when I put on and off both times makes some noise ? And when I start to drive parking brake doesn't go off automatically as before , could you help me please why is it like that ??

A Nazir what's the make and model of your car bro. I have the same problem with my Audi A6 2006 in fact I've stopped using the automatic handbrake all together just put it in park mode.
