Potatoes do not go in the fridge either! Store potatoes in a cool, dark place with good ventilation. Potatoes need airflow to stay fresh, so store them in a container like a basket, open box or breathable bag. The fridge is too cold and will trigger the potatoes' starches to convert to sugar.😊❤
Those things that look like big grapefruits... we bought 2 one time. Gave one to my parents. And we took one. And we through them away. Tasted horrible!!! And so did my parents...lol
Like other root vegetables and tubers, sweet potatos are best stored in a cool, dark place. Not the refrigerator, the refrigerator is actually too cool and can change the cell structure of the potatoes, making them hard in the center with white spots. Refrigeration can diminish the flavor of sweet potatoes as well. Ventilation is another key to properly storing sweet potatoes - another strike against the crisper drawer according to Southern Living. Keep in a paper bag or basket in a kitchen cabinet, pantry or basement. Choose a cabinet that's not near the heat of your oven. They prefer a temperature between 50 to 60 degrees. 😊❤
Haley is right there is a way to make Cheez-Its with thin sliced cheese. You fold them into fours they have that recipe for keto put them on the baking sheet and put a hole in the middle.
Heather, you remind me so much of an actress that used to be on TV. I think I first saw her on a soap opera. I am racking my brain to remember who she was. Has anyone ever told you that?? Love your videos. I'm a new watcher and don't know much about your family yet, but I will soon. Nice grocery haul. I love grocery hauls the most.
Heather, you and your videos have been a gift to so many! Holding you and your family in prayer, and especially praying that you come out from under the dark cloud you're feeling. 💓💓
Hi Heather! Just. a couple tips: potatoes and sweet potatoes don't go in the fridge, they should go in a cool dry space, like a drawer or in a bin on your pantry shelves. All citrus shouldn't go in the fridge either, a loose grouping in bowls on your counters or in your pantry. Same with apples, but those aren't as bad in the fridge. Love you guys and your hearts and content ❤
I agree Heather that the grocery store and grocery shopping is so fun. It's fun seeing everything and choosing everything, not sure exactly, lol! I look forward to going
Love your posting your lovely family!! You have a wonderful life there in Michigan!!! It's a beautiful State!!!! From Michigan, The Great Lakes State!!! 🌲🌲🌲🌲...... ❤❤❤❤....
Sumo oranges can be pricey, they are usually in season December to April… but they are seriously the best oranges you can get 😅 easy to peel and each slice is like a pocket of OJ. I’ve also noticed all the strawberries lately look fantastic but turn bad very quickly…
I'm always in awe of American supermarkets, they have so much stuff. I always get my fruit and veg from the farmers market, that way I feel like the farmers get a good deal, or at least a better deal than going to a supermarket. Hope you are all well! Have a lovely week.
I am opposite of you this month. I need everything! I have only gotten a couple of things over the last couple of months, so I did a big shop at my local grocery store for on sale items and am planning a big haul at Sam’s also. The sticker shock of prices though. 🤦🏼♀️🤪
I like pushing the cart. My son goes grocery shopping with me and I have a feeling people look at us and think the same. But it’s because I like pushing the cart. 😅
I never put these items in the fridge: tomatoes, avocado, onions, potatoes - just store away from heat sources. Also, a great way to speed up the ripening process of an avocado is to place in a bag with a banana. Tomatoes are so pretty sitting in the windowsill. Hope you get feeling better 🙏
When you pick a pineapple, pull on the highest center leaf. If it comes out easily then it's ready to eat. If the leaf doesn't come out then it's not ready to eat. Just FYI.
the sumo mandarins are so delicious!! i dont think theyre supposed to be squishy but if they are not next time, definitely try them! i would never have tried them but got given a sample once and i love them!!
For your berries, wash them in a baking soda and water and store them in Mason jars. They will last for a few weeks. I have been doing this for few years, and it has saved me a ton of money. If you store lettuce in paper towels in a zip lock bag it will last about 2 weeks. Avacafos store in the fridge in water this slows down the ripening process and thus also works for lemons and limes.
The biggest tip I learned to keep berries from going bad is to put them in mason jars!!! My berries Keep for 2+ weeks!! Don't wash them first. Bring home and put in jars and put in fridge. If you want to wash them first they have to be completely dried to store in the jars to stay fresher in the fridge. I almost never have moldy fruit anymore!!
I love that you are watching your sugars. My husband and I are on Keto. I have lost 70#'s and my husband has lost 55. On the yogurt GoGo yogurt, check the sugars. For milk Fairlife is better in the sugar dept. Potatoes are supper high in carbs which turns into sugar. We still eat berries and grapes along with green beans, carrots, cabbage and broccoli. Good luck ladies!!!
Yups! The order we eat food is also important, whenever possible eat carbs first or couple simple carbs or sugar with food rich in fiber so your insulin would not spike so fast and so much.
Sumo citrus is AMAZING!!!!! They aren’t in season for long, but if you go back soon for fresh fruit, try them! They’re awesome! They are sweet, juicy, easy peel and seedless!
Love Meijer! I losing weight I eat avocados, fruits, vegetables, salads, chicken breast, and milk drink unsweetened almond milk has no sugar more calcium so far I’ve lost 5 pounds. God bless you and your family from Michigan
Yes get to the bag 👏🏿. Meijer better cooperate too. I love chicken breast and turkey. You can pass the chicken to me😂My daughter loves Bluey too. Its a cute little show.
Plumello Are so delicious. They are way better than a great fruit. They usually just slightly tart. Is summer oranges can be very delicious! Candice cameron Bur actually loves them she got me hooked on Sumos.
I have seen videos on UA-cam, when you chop the top off a pineapple. You put it in dirt, and it takes 2 to 3 yrs. To produce a pineapple. I'd do it to try, but i don't have the room to do it.
I think all refrigerators have that one spot in the back where your food freezes. We just bought a new refrigerator because our old refrigerator was freezing the food in that one spot well guess what, the new refrigerator does the same exact thing freezes in that one spot. Reality check didn't need to buy the new one 😬ugh. Talk to my friends and they have the same problem. Be Blessed. 😊🇺🇲
If you don't know why Izzy loves Bluey then you need to sit down and watch some episodes. See if you can make if through some of them without tearing up, it pulls at your heart some of the lessons.
The 7 for 7 deal is mix n match aslong as u get 7 items it’ll be $1 each, for example 5 avocados 5 mangos is $10 incase u need less then 7 😊 Also I’d buy ur eggs at meijer to support if they decide to bring some to Illinois ❤
Momma Bell if you are looking to eat more salads buy the salad kits... They come with your dressing and the toppings. Many of them use more cabbage than lettuce which I actually prefer... I don't know what it is about strawberries. Ours always go bad before we eat them too...
I think it’s the temperature settings on the fridge are fridge does the same if u push anything back to far it freezes our waters and juices and milk and eggs be freezing in the fridge but yes I wounder why it does that
I had my freezer too full and it “messed” with the temp sensors. Everything in my fridge froze. We had to take stuff out so it didn’t freeze solid (milk, creamer) I couldn’t buy mayo (it separated) my eggs were freezing. I struggled for several weeks while I investigated fridge brands and prices. I bought a Frigidaire (match the stove) getting new dishwasher and microwave soon. I just got another side by side. Once I transferred and used a bunch from the old freezer, the old fridge started working correctly. Yay! 2 fridges! I can shop once a week and get all his milk in one trip! He drinks 6-7 gallons a week. He had to cut back for that time because I would not go to the store every day.
Lots of good vegetables in your shopping trip. There are different areas of refrigerators that are better for some vegetables/fruits than others. I find I can get my fruit and veggies last much longer by finding the best storage solution for each.
@@Justthebells10 how would you like me to send you the information, I typed it out for you, it is 1 1/2 pages. For some background I am 67 years old, was married for 40+ years, had 8 children and all the neighborhood kids stopping by to eat, homeschooled for 23+ years, 4-H, Scouts, youth church activities so I did a lot of cooking and baking and had learned to be frugal.
Awesome and excellent watching 🙌👌👌👌🫶🏼 Scratching my head how you ran out of butter but I’m on my own so my perspective is different,I realise. However- I do stockpile some things and butter is one so,heck I’m with you xxx Awww, hope you are ok , hopefully the struggle has lifted a little xx
Those Japanese mandarins orange’s that you picked up that were 2 for $5 are always ugly and squishy but let me tell you….they are the BEST oranges you’ll ever eat in your lifetime. They are in season (kinda at the end) but you must try them. They are definitely a little expensive but worth it. You get the best deal at Costco. We went to Japan for 2 weeks in January/February and got to try them there also and they were even sweeter in Japan. You should definitely try them!!
Take the strawberries and take vinegar, water and baking soda and clean them for 10 to 15 minutes. After cleaning, take the berries and take paper towels and dry them off. Take mason jars and store them in the fridge

Such a great store 😊
You need to do couponing online you would save so much money in every store you shop in.❤❤❤
That would a great idea to have Meijer sell your family eggs !!!! U go girl!!!!!
Haley is right there is a way to make Cheez-Its with thin sliced cheese. You fold them into fours they have that recipe for keto put them on the baking sheet and put a hole in the middle.
I found the cheez it receipe on pintrest Thank you going to try and making them.

They havent 😊
Mama Bell "treat yourself" is probably my two favorite words. I have come to love doing that ❤

Bolthouse will send you coupons too! Remember they sell, carrots, dressings, juices, smoothies in the produce dept.😊❤
That is my favorite tea. The zero sugar sweet tea is better than sweet tea.
My strawberries do the same thing.
I love that tea. We buy the Barely Sweet version. So yummy!!
Miss Heather I am so sorry y'all have had such an emotional week. 😢 God is healing.
I agree Heather that the grocery store and grocery shopping is so fun. It's fun seeing everything and choosing everything, not sure exactly, lol! I look forward to going
With the strawberries 🍓
Wash them and cut them up than store them
In fridge. Eat them within 3 days

Avocado ice cream is so good too. ❤
I love watching your grocery haul videos! All of our boys are grown and married, so it's just the two of us at home. I miss my grocery store trips!😄
I'm always in awe of American supermarkets, they have so much stuff. I always get my fruit and veg from the farmers market, that way I feel like the farmers get a good deal, or at least a better deal than going to a supermarket.
Hope you are all well! Have a lovely week.
We always love hearing the differences
I remember as a kids my parents always went to the farmers market in the summer I loved going there but now you can hardly find them
You have the most beautiful Meijer store. Mine literally has flys swarming around the produce section. Thank you for taking us along 💗
I really like mixing salmon or tuna with avocados.
Just a tip for you..when you see the 7 for $7 signs, it’s mix and match anything with that sign! And any items after that 7th item, will all be $1.
Oh really. I didnt know that
I am opposite of you this month. I need everything! I have only gotten a couple of things over the last couple of months, so I did a big shop at my local grocery store for on sale items and am planning a big haul at Sam’s also. The sticker shock of prices though. 🤦🏼♀️🤪
Love grocery hauls! That store looks like a super Walmart it has more than just grocery’s. 😱😱😱
Those kids need to be pushing the cart!
I like pushing the cart. My son goes grocery shopping with me and I have a feeling people look at us and think the same. But it’s because I like pushing the cart. 😅
I love that you shop at Meijer. It's my favorite place to shop for groceries.
My dog loves frosty paws

I also don’t put apples or oranges or cantaloupe in the refrigerator. In addition to the things you were speaking of.
A general refergeration guide is, store your food like it was at the store. If it is refrigerated at the store, refrigerate it.
I keep potatoes and tomatoes in the fridge, I buy vine tomatoes and find keeping them on the vine helps them stay fresh/good 😊
When you pick a pineapple, pull on the highest center leaf. If it comes out easily then it's ready to eat. If the leaf doesn't come out then it's not ready to eat. Just FYI.
Potatoes and tomatoes are best kept at room temperature.
the sumo mandarins are so delicious!! i dont think theyre supposed to be squishy but if they are not next time, definitely try them! i would never have tried them but got given a sample once and i love them!!
I used to work at Meijer in 99.
Awesome as ever and you be full of joy full of happy tears when she is married you have an awesome family you have a blessed day
Omg , Hailey is a blast . I hope my future Daugther in Law is just like her
My favorite is Cara Cara oranges!
The gold tea diet is the bomb 😅
Never heard of putting potatoes and onions in the fridge. My Mum always told us store it same as you bought it in the fridge or off the shelf.
So nice Mama, also Mochi is said with a soft C sound, like when you say (chick) love your videos so much.
Always womanspalining toward the kids!

Yes they last so long in mason jars
Ok gotcha
Show more videos of you canning and making your own things like cheese its. Show your smoothies too. And your salads would be fun to see too.❤

Hang in there sweetheart ❤ I'm praying for you and your family. Thankyou for your wonderful videos.
The ratio yogurt is expensive but it is soooo good! Great for low carb lifestyle!
I like to have those when I’m low on calories or fat for the day. Otherwise I like the two good brand for when I’ve had enough fat and calories.
I don’t put tomatoes in the fridge they get mushy
Awesome haul I’ll be filming a grocery haul today
I absolutely love yalls family ❤🎉 as a child I was in foster care and my experience was so different!
Ok the shopping was great, but i REALLY need to know what make your upstairs fridge is....please😊
I have seen videos on UA-cam, when you chop the top off a pineapple. You put it in dirt, and it takes 2 to 3 yrs. To produce a pineapple. I'd do it to try, but i don't have the room to do it.

Those look like champagne mangos! If so they're sooo sweet and delicious 🤤😍
Also it's moe-chee you were saying it correctly!
They are soooo good
