I just wanted to add to this! About 9 years ago I sent a message to Simon on messenger asking him to help with my form. He took screenshots of my video and sent multiple paragraphs of ways I could improve. On top of that, he noticed I lived in KY and mentioned he would be at the BG AM championships and I should come out and say hi to him. I did, and he was just the best! He recognized me, called me out by name, took pictures, signed discs, had a long conversation, and even aced like 15 minutes later! He won a basket from the ace and gave it to a little kid. Without a doubt I became a Simon fan for life after that. He’s unlike any other disc golfer out there. I respect and appreciate him!
Wow, that just adds up to my already high fan status about mr Lizotte. I’m 45 y/o and completely blow away by this mans presence in disc golf. If i would meet one famous person by request. Simon would be the guy. He seems so genuine, down to earth and just likeable. I wish for him and his family all the best in the future. Wish i could have an ounce of his talent. Thanks for sharing this.
Same! I had some friends take me a few months ago to Maple Hill and I enjoyed myself despite being terrible and clueless. I got home and started going down a youtube rabbit hole and was hooked after a single video of simon playing a round at Maple. I have been playing non-stop since and hope I run into Simon one day at one of the local courses so that I can thank him!
This will be your most viewed video because it is Simon. One of the people that took disc golf to the next level as far as popularity and level of play.
I agree - the one thing that Simon is over everyone else is an ambassador for Disc golf - not necessarily as a pro sport, but as sport and a game. He is just an unmatchable avatar of "why should I spend my freetime on this? Is it fun?" I played disc golf back at summer camp, and loved it. Then there were no courses in my area, and I aged out of summercamp, so I basically stopped playing for 20 years until a little AFTER the covid boom. I saw a basket in a park, and it lead me to thinking about the game, so I searched on youtube... and I immediately got dragged into Simon's whirlpool. Days later, I ordered like 200 bucks worth of plastic and bags, and 3 years later I'm playing 3+ rounds a week, including in the snow. I think it is almost impossible to watch Simon play discgolf and not see what makes this sport fun.
Simon is the reason I started this sport - I saw so much of myself in him (sadly not the throws lol) and his whole attitude and vibe is what I strive to recreate!!! Not only because I want to inspire people to play like I was inspired but also because I really feel it helps me with my life, the struggles and obstacles I face. Great piece on Simon thank you for sharing!!
This is all true. Simon has always been so kind to my son and family whenever we've spent any amount of time with him. Same with Casey White, Barsby and Matt Bell. All genuinely good people who go the extra mile for the kids.
So many people think you need to be strong to throw farther/better, when all it comes down to is being more flexible/mobile. Too many people don’t spend any time stretching and they wonder why they’re always sorr
I just love seeing Simon take the game more seriously and hope it pays him back with one of the majors. While he has certainly captured the hearts of people who have been following him in the 2010s, I'm not sure how many players from Covid boom or later really know what Simon lines and all the goofy tour clips were. This kinda brings it back to his constant media availability. I understood he wants to remain a fixture in the disc golf world even after his playing days and building up his brand and vlog following is highly depenpent on him being visible. I almost feel like both Simon and Eagle have to prove themselves again after the MVP switch and while Simon has done pretty well he's still better known for his time with Discmania.
Hey,Matt Wilderson I recently came across your UA-cam channel and was impressed by the quality of your content. However, after conducting a comprehensive analysis, I noticed there is room for improvement for your UA-cam channel to get more visitors and subscribers. • Your Video Title and description needs to be improved • You need to use more relevant tags and keywords • Organic promotion of Top social media • High-ranking tag setup (keyword, hashtag) If you want I can do a free UA-cam channel audit for you for your better understanding

I was there for that in 2015

Simon is the reason why I became obsessed with this sport. Stumbled upon one of his videos 4 years ago and never looked back.

Just like McBeth, you cannot tell the story of DiscGolf without saying Simon Lizotte. Legend status achieved.
Just like who?

Simon has the smoothest throw out there. It's so fun to watch.
Favorite player by far, his UA-cam channel is what originally got me into disc golf in the first place

Simon is a true legend.
Great video, such a good narration and the flow of editing. Thanks!
Yo spin doc! I'm always seeing you in the comments lol. Love your videos
@@njott1021 Yo, I want to give credit when people do great stuff for everybody to enjoy!
"not the best with distance" really hurts to hear after holding the world record 😆
I played 1 vs. 1 with Simon, on Disc Golf Valley the phone game :)
First of all, Simon is the best! Secondly, fresh never frozen.

I think your problem is trying to record to SIM cards lol, those things are not great at storing data 😀
Quality content
Thanks!
Why Simon is not on protour?? His last competition was music city open i think 🤔🤔🤔
His daughter was just born so he's on daddy duty until preserve
4:37 - 4:41 best part of the video. i think simon would agree . . .

Simon is the best. Not even close. World class act.
Remember...he is half Canadian...so you have to expect the chilled, nice guy part.
You should see the way British Columbians drive. Nothing chill about it. 😂
