No joke. She's the Casting Director of almost every big movie I've seen. She seems to have a real talent for.. Seeing talent and matching it to the material.
She doesnt get nearly as much credit as she ought to. a HUGE part of why Marvel works as good as it does, is the Cast. I often think about it. I actually thought that she may even really stalk them to know their personalities and to see if they can have chemistry with the rest of the cast. For me, She and Kevin is why MCU works so well.
Hearing how Pratt didn't want to audition because he had gained weight and didn't see himself as a leading man is a little heartbreaking and a good reminder that what's inside is so much more important. Good thing Sarah saw right through that or we wouldn't have such a perfect Peter Quill :)

Maybe she will get the Thor treatment but one movie earlier i hope lol. It seemed they had a more oppressive storyline with danvers growing up and with pretty boy star lord, but somehow they only used that bit in the last bit when she is standing up not to the SI, which is so dumb. She was weirdly written in Endgame as well. Shes a good actress but needs to be used effectively. Directors are there to make sure evrything is done correctly, if they tell her good job and never direct or help add, its their fault. Good cast, bad writing and redirecting, marvel tried their best with reshoots but didnt work.

Doing a Casting Director's job well, is an extremely difficult endeavor. The MCU has been blessed to have Sarah Finn's eye for talent in their arsenal. With few exceptions, she has obliterated expectation and created a generation of household, a-list, superstars.

Wouldn't be surprised if Reed Richards was way younger or an elderly man or maybe even a different race. Look at Hank Pym for example. They went for older Hank and younger Scott. Everyone thought it would be Hank Pym as the main Ant-Man in the MCU. Also look at Wasp, it's Hope instead of Janet. Also look how they did Cap's ''hail hydra'' in the MCU. Also look how they did the Infinity War saga in the movies, totally different from the comics. Ultron was also different. Vision was different. A lot of MCU things are different but they still honor the source material.
It's good to know there are professionals out there like Sarah Finn actively watching and looking for acting talent. I'm not an actor nor do I want to be, but it seems to me that acting in as many roles as possible so that casting directors have a better chance of seeing your work is key. It's really weird to think there is this mysterious cabal silently working in the shadows, watching and tracking actors.
Gotta admit, Chris Pratt was perfect for the part. Everybody was perfect, actually. Dave Bautista as Drax, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Michael Rooker, Vin Diesel saying the same line, over and over in different ways.
We say it's the perfect role and we can't imagine anybody else playing them, but in an alternate universe, we'd say the same thing for other actors being Star Lord. It's because we get used to it.

I would never be able to stand anybody else as Starlord, I have admired all MCU superheroes, loved a lot of them as well but boy never in my life had i fallen IN love with a character as much as I have fallen for Chris Pratt's Starlord. From his very first scene as Starlord, even through the time he f*cked up pretty bad in infinity wars and everyone hated him to the time i cried out loud in the movie theater as I saw his silhouette come out of the portal in Endgame, I have never admired anyone this much. Idk maybe it's the goofball that he is or maybe because he does these crazy shenanigans while saving the Galaxy multiple times and yet is so flawed and so human. I connect to the honesty of his character at an insane level. Felt like I was holding my breath while I penned down a crazy ass love letter to starlord at a random comments section at midnight.

I heard that one of the reasons they said no at first, was his previous role as the human torch. They thought the same actor playing 2 major character roles wouldn't work, but obviously they were wrong.
Imagine how many actors would’ve been perfect for a role, but got blocked from making it in because of stubborn people on the team and crew. Luckily this didn’t pan out like that, but I’m sure there are movies that could’ve been brought to whole new levels just by switching out an actor.

Even if he was never rehired he would still be in the credits of both movies because it's very unlikely you would be removed from a movie that is already finished. Especially an executive producer. He wasn't fired until July 2018, so there's no reason he wouldn't be credited for a job that is already finished. Even if he did something illegal it would be incredibly difficult to have an EP credit removed, especially if you already EP'd a movie that's already been released by the time they fire you.
