I am a 72 year old male retired construction worker, living on Social Security. I trained much of my life but never had anyone so well informed teach me in such detail about exercise routines. I was told I need hip replacement. I am exercising my way to better health! Avoiding an operation that would be catastrophic financially. Your kindness in producing videos have been extremely helpful! I now believe that my condition was caused by improper use of gym equipment and years on construction sites. I live in a retirement community, and have given links to your account many times as I can to others and tell them to follow and like your site. This is my way of saying thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing your personal story and I am so happy you've seen such an impact from my channel. That's what I'm here for. I appreciate the comment.
Thank you for this video. I am already working on hamstrings with 2,3 & 4 exercises. But today I could know some important points about these exercises. Your videos are really valuable. Thank you once again. 🙏
Working out most of my life ( I am now 65) I always thought to stretch my tight hamstring on the left side. Now with your information and excellent presentation, I now know to strengthen the muscle not stretch it. This is life changing. I too share your videos. They make sense, are safe and actually work. The advice and knowledge of a Physical Therapist, Alyssa, is a game changer. I am all in on this. Thank you, thank-you❤
Thank you....I have been trying to stretch for months...my right hamstring is so tight that it is affecting my walking gait and adding to lower back pain....I'm 66 and sat too much in my earlier days.....I am going to start these exercises every day
I just want to say that you a really a good PT. I've just started with a PT and left because I knew more than him. Thank you for all these exercise for many parts of the body. Thank you. You have help me a lot. I think Challenge Course I will eventually apply for this once I feel I can do it. thanks again. I wish I had you in NYC for PT.
One thing I am not able to grip, pick up any items and not able to band both hands fingers fist and let me know the above mentioned post pls reply me know the excercise of this issue 🙏
Thank you Alyssa. I am unable to straighten my knees when trying to standing after being seated due to a tightening behind the knees. This happens sometimes and not all the time. Please let me know what I can do to prevent this tightness behind the knees.
I have had anterior pelvic tilt since i was young. 4 back surgeries later and still in pain. I am 72 now, and my hamstrings are extremely tight. I have a very weak core and weak paraspinal muscles. I have constant nerve pain and peripheral neuropathy in lower legs. How can I ease back pain and PN pain? Your videos are a Godsend!
My hamstrings and calves are rock hard tight and have been for a while. I have a lot of neck and back issues going on, however I fired pain managemeni. I get around with a walker. I know I am out of shape, but having said that, are these the exercises you would reccommend? Any advice would be so wonderful! Thanks for all the info!
Hi Alyssa. Thank you so much for your helpful Videos! Can you do some content what to do if you have problems with sciatica pain. My hubby has some problems and massages/cupping are not helpjng.
Dr. Kuhn, in week 10 of my 12 weeks of PT after a posterior/lateral full hip replacement on my right side, I pulled/strained my piriformis muscle. I was suddenly not able to do many of the basic exercises I had been doing all along through PT. It’s been 4 weeks, and 2 RX’s for muscle relaxers. I don’t know, outside of walking, what stretching or strengthening I could be doing to help myself. I am 53 years old and have a pretty physically active job and I worked out 3-4 days/week. Feeling a little dejected that I’m feeling stuck 4 mos after my surgery. Do you have any advice? 🙏
When I stand on 1 foot and bring my foot as close to my hamstring as possible, I get (w/in seconds) a cramp in that hamstring. Does that mean the hamstring is weak and needs help? I do sit a lot, but not for hours and hours, I get up often.
@@arthritisadventure Something you said about body awareness, I have a problem w/ that. Esp. this pelvic tilt business. I feel like I need to see a PT in person sometimes...
Don’t know how I did it but I hurt the muscle in my lower back right above my left butt check. Sometimes the pain travels down from that muscle I’m my back down my butt cheek. Doctor put me on Ibuprofen which has helped a lot No more pain in my upper thigh or butt check but still having the pain in my lower back especially when I wake up in the morning or after sitting for a while. Can you can you recommend any exercise. Some things I find hard to do as I’m severely obese

Please show how to get up out of a chair without pushing off. Very frustrating
@@EdwardKelly-yc3ju I like this request. I think other people would too.
It's crazy how exercise should be the prescription before surgery is even thought of.

Thank you Alexa. If you have end plate erosion at C8 and T 1 can we still do the bridge as shown? Thank you again.

yes, weakness is one of the things early cramping can indicate
@@arthritisadventure Thanks for your reply! I try every now and then to do that movement, but they cramp, and I stop.

I have had a bilateral knee replacement 6 weeks ago.. can i do the first exercise now? or do i wait for some more time for it.
It depends on how your recovery has gone. These movements shouldn't cause significant pain.
In the 1st exercise is the head in contact with the wall?
nice subject, keep videos small.
🎉😊❤
Thanks
You are so welcome!
❤
Glad you love it!
Always pulling a hami & it hurts for weeks
Could be related to a potential muscle weakness or imbalance there
@arthritisadventure hi Alyssa, when I ever get charlie horses in my ham strings, I rub magnesium gel and it helps so much.
You remind me of the comedian Mary Make, any relation?
Always talking/briefing during video but videos are very small please long video be prepared
