Sadly since losing a lot of hair my most uncomfortable experience was at an Alopecia Support Group meeting! There were a group of women who seemed to suggest that owning it was by going bald headed. I never went back there! I'm loving wearing wigs and am 'owning it' my way! Thank you Tax.

It doesnt have to be all one way or the other. Some days, dont wear a wig n let the lovely baldness shine thru. Other days, if u feel like it- throw a gorgeous wig on. Mix it up. Options are good. The more options, the better. The only rules are the ones we make up n put on ourselves. 😊❤

I agree with you totally. Like the girls say at work it's no different than getting fake nails. And you are right that one girl I work with spends more each year on her hair than I di on my wigs. And I don't have to get up as early ti do my hair

I have almost 20 wigs that I purchased for convenience…but it took me over a year to wear one. Even in my home, (because I don’t have a hair problem and I love my hair style). But one day my hair needed washing and I didn’t have the energy to wash/blow dry/style…so I popped on my ‘Flirty Fringe Bob’ wig (Hairdo). Hub was talking to me, paused mid-sentence and said ‘did you do something different with your hair’? That cracked the door open for me. He loves anything that makes my life easier, and he loves ALL my wigs, lol. He supported me and helped build my courage. If I suffered hair loss or another hair issue, I know it wouldn’t have been so hard for me to bravely and proudly take that first step. I wouldn’t have had a choice. But when you have a healthy thick head of hair, (and you’re in contact with many people), your courage takes a back seat. Wearing wigs has encouraged two of my sisters and a few friends to become wig wearers. Wigs make life easier. It all started with you, Taz. From the bottoms of my heart, thank you. 🥰

@@TAZSWIGCLOSET you’re welcome. I also must say that first time wig wearers shouldn’t jump to conclusions…don’t be quick to judge yourself when you first try on a wig. I’m 72…when I first would try on a wig, it took me FOR-EV-ER to stop tearing myself down because, ya know..’it didn’t look like this on Taz’!! It looked perky and cuuuute. On me, well, I’m 72! Come on! I had to get it outta my head that I’m not gonna look all adorable like Taz. So I stopped jumping to conclusions, opened my mind to possibilities and stopped being defeated before I even started. Instead I began working and playing with a new wig. I stopped comparing myself to those beautiful young models on WS1. Once I did that, I bloomed.
Taz I could listen to you all day I could not agree more with you about changing people's views and opinions about wigs we should all do this and we'll change the world for generations to come. I'm with you! 💞

As to waking up the fibers, if I like the color/style and I wish to keep it, I wash my new wig(s) to "wake up the fibers." I hang the wig upside down to dry. When the wig thoroughly dries, then I will do my customization of the wig. Then, it seems the wig molds to my head and I have made it my own. : )

Hi Taz! Whenever someone compliments my hair I tell them it's a wig and I love seeing their response. Even some friends I've told will say when I see them again, oh, you got a hair cut OR you changed your color! I just say, it's a new wig. They totally forget that I'm wearing wigs. It's so important that we change the stigma! I love being able to just put on a wig and go! When I first lost my hair and decided to start wearing a wig I found your videos and you helped me so much to feel at ease and comfortable about it! You're the best, thanks for all you do for us!

Dear Taz, I have been watching your videos and other wig wearers' videos for about 3 years or so. My major worries have been about permatease not looking natural (I have only bought good brands, Noriko, Jon Renau, and more) but have not been comfortable with the look. Your tips on how to make the permatease work for me is SO appreciated!!! Thank you SO much for those ways to make it look more natural and I will use them!
My other worry is that, on a really windy day, the wefting will show when the wind blows my hair.. I know you have shown us that we can use head bands, etc., but I'm not comfortable doing that (I'm only 4'9" and a young looking 74 year old). So, I'm trying some wigs that have linings sewn into the wefted area or those that have the wefting more at the nape.

I’ve had encounters of that sort at the eye doctor’s office. And yes, that jaw drop is so fun!
I also saw a tiny elderly lady who had almost no hair on the top of her head. I wished I carried a few of my seldom, or never used styles in my voluminous purse so I could offer her an alternative. How I would approach her without alarming or embarrassing her, I have no idea.

Hi Taz, love the video, as usual. Part of your caption reads: "Wigs Are Better Than Real Hair," and I could not agree with you more. I'm a long time helper hair/wig wearer, and naturally I observe women's bio hair. The majority of people, unless they are young women, do not have great hair, for instance, the style, color, texture, etc. Especially women over 50. When I wear my wigs, I have salon-ready hair, the hairstyle(s) that dreams are made of, in addition to outta sight hair colors, that would cost a fortune at a salon. Yes, overall, wigs are better than the vast majority of "real hair" out there.
