    What a beautiful chat! As someone who was born with a disability, I have often been looked at as a fool to have belief in God. In fact, both my brother and I have the same disability. We are 2 years apart. Also, about 10 years ago my mother was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer. Again, people looked at us weird that we would continue on, as many would say, "with the God-thing." My way of looking at it is if we only stay on this path of faith when life's easy and going our way we don't really need much faith do we?! He never promised to be our ATM no matter how much this world seems to only view Him in such superficial ways.

    Thank you for this episode. Jeff, I really loved when you said that the Bible begins with light entering the world and it ends with the revelation that God is light and there is no darkness in Him at all. I think that was very beautiful! It's like a story of light. Only God could speak through His creation like that.
    Fr. Spitzer, I think that you are an amazing example and a witness of "in weakness I am strong ." I hope that if difficult moments I will have your courage and your smile. ❤
    God Bless!

    Truth is one. Counting and measuring the quantifiable aspects of reality is what we call science today, Faith is corresponding to the unquantifiable aspects of reality and, finally, to God Himself. No opposition between these two searches for truth. Wonderful to hear from Fr. Spitzer.

    On evolution, I have seen in a number of recent talks on this subject, scientists such as Stephen Meyer are showing that evolution between species just doesn't work. The understanding of DNA is showing that the likelihood of beneficial mutations isn't happening, while changes WITHIN species does happen. Darwin's Doubt, is Stephen Meyers book that speaks to this. He is writing from a Christian viewpoint of a creator as the origin of the universe and all life.

    I think that the "prove it" mentality, is problematic for atheists and a older universe is problematic for young earth creationist. The "prove it" mentality is not open to the possibility of "something out of nothing", and is quite hopeful that it remains that way. The young earth creationists are not open to the glory and awe of God and how he works, and therefor dismiss all the wonder that comes from an older earth.

    Paul’’S Testimony is great . It doesn’t work for a woman though, and catholic . Confidence is pride what’s a woman doing having a woman. Little do people know it’s God ‘S Holy Spirit speaking at the time I am confident. Today I have lost confidence . I am not allowed to have an identity . My near death experiences invalidated. Well I have been weaned off everything . Unbealavable. No ego means I can’t live on earth . I have inner peace . It’s not me the problem , my operation has made me a hard case simply because God has found the solution for me but people are too proud to be seen with me. I asked God , how to be healthy and use more than 10percent of my brain . Amen

    • @ambu6478

      That's a very good question! They definitely existed, we have the remains. I believe that God created all that has existed and that Neanderthals and dinosaurs were a part of that creation. How it all plays out, I'm not sure. Perhaps the difference between the Neanderthals and the Human species, was some part of the creation process from an ape like creature to the creation of Homosapiens? How ever it took place, I believe it was the work of an awesome intelligent Designer. All that we see today on this awesome planet was the work of an Intelligent Designer... GOD!

      Yes, I agree it is all a mystery that doesn’t seem to be solved by the history of the Bible and was left out of our history and how it all fit in or came about and how it would of fit into the history of the Bible. That there are a lot of things that are missing ( mystery) . Just like I don’t understand that ,Adam and Eve had 2 children and Cain killed his brother Abel and was sent away but who did he marry? Where did she come from? And how was the world populated? God had to have created more people than are mentioned in the Bible.And same with Noah went into the arc when God destroyed the world by the flood, and all he had with him was his wife, his three sons and their wives and threw them , the whole world is populated as we know it today so they must’ve had to have married their children off to their cousins.I’m just trying to understand and learn. You see I have been going through the Bible in the years as well as the catechism in the year with Fr. Mike with ascension . This is my second year and I have so many questions because I get asked by people and I have no answers. So thank you so much for your help. 🙏🏻

Our soul created in Heaven and our physical body created once we fall the dimensions . It’s only an hypothesis , I don’t expect to be correct , it’s just a question . I could be way off too . Love Fr. Spitzer, but he needs to drop the Documentary Hypothesis timeline in his account. That's been roundly debunked. Secondly, God being a perfect cause cannot (except by intermediation of a secondary cause, i.e. the sin of the Fall emanating from free choice) create a world in which death is a fundamental principle of advancement; yet all evolutionary theories require death as a necessary element. Hence, evolutionary theory can't become manifest until after the Fall. Unless evolution is ex ante facto in tempore as an effect of the Fall, it can't be permitted into God's plan.

    • @richiejourney1840
      @richiejourney1840 4 місяці тому

      What scripture says there was no death at all before the fall? All I can find are “death came to mankind”. This death from the fall only pertains to mankind in spirit separation and physical separation. Mankind (and all other earthly life) was created mortal in the first place. There was no guarantee we couldn’t fall from a high cliff and die. Certainly there is life in the plants yet we killed and ate them as well as the other creatures did. So to the animals and living plants were created mortal and destined to die for they were not given the tree of life…only mankind was given that. Thus, from the very beginning death was in the world even though mankind was planned to become immortal in both of our two natures-body+soul. Also, if death was such a bad thing for all living things…why would God so immediately kill some animals for Adam and Eve for clothes? Why so immediately would the killing of sheep and sacrifice such a “sweet aroma” and “acceptable” thing to God? Life begets life and life feeds on life.

    There are two different languages. There is the language of the atheist and there is the language of Yahweh. There is no communication between the two because the atheist does not want to communicate in the same way that Yahweh wants to communicate. For example, Yahweh says, “Let us reason together, though your sins be as scarlet...” (Isaiah 1:18). The first thing on Yahweh's lists for discussion is your sin. However, for the atheist that topic is the last thing on the list. Also, it's not what you believe in, it's about what you love (Mark 12:33).
    The atheist's remedy to explain all his theories and to discredit the Genesis story is to add the construct of billions of years. But on the other hand, everything in Genesis is created in its adult form from the beginning. The trees, the animals, mankind are all created in their adult form. That also includes the universe. And an adult universe would and should appear to be billions of years old.
    Atheist do not understand that consciousness is not a chemical formula which could ever be created in a lab. When we talk about the elements we are talking about our experience of the elements through the miracle of consciousness.
    I would agree that the churches today are defective. In fact, the Apostle Paul pronounced a curse on most churches today because the main Christian denominations of today preach a different gospel than what Paul preached. To quote exactly what Paul said, “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8). Both apostle Paul and Peter preached the same gospel and quote from the prophet Joel (2:32) saying, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of Yahweh shall be saved." (Romans 10:13 and Acts 2:21). The English translations say “Lord” instead of “Yahweh.” But “Lord” does not translate “Yahweh” it is a substitution of a totally different word altogether. This substitution activates two additional curses because if you substitute a word you are both adding and subtracting at the same time. “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” (Revelation 22:18, 19)
    We are commanded by Messiah that, “...repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” (Luke 24:47). In other words, we are supposed to preach the gospel that came out of Jerusalem and not preach the gospel that came out of Antioch, or Rome, or England, or New York, or Chicago, etc. By the time the gospel got to Antioch it had already been perverted as we read, “...And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” (Acts 11:26). The problem with this is that Yahweh spoke of a people called by His name (Deuteronomy 28:10; 2 Chronicles 7:14; Isaiah 43:6, 7; Daniel 9:19; Amos 9:12; Acts 15:17). Yahweh did not choose the name “Christian” for Himself. The people of Antioch chose that name and all the so called main denominations of today embrace that name “Christian” for themselves. When Peter and Paul preached the gospel they quote the prophet Joel, “Whosoever shall call on the name of Yahweh shall be saved.” (Joel 2:32; Acts 2:21; Rom. 10:13). I ask you, how many of the church fathers and so called main denominations of today preach that gospel? None of them. Absolutely none!
    Paul makes it very clear that the end result of him preaching the gospel was that the people would call on the name Yahweh. He says in (Rom. 10:14,15), The preachers are sent. They preach. The people hear. The people believe. The people call on the name Yahweh (Rom. 10:13). I ask you, how many of the church fathers and so called main denominations of today preach that gospel? None of them. Absolutely none!
    It took only one generation after the death of Joshua for the children of Israel to forget the mighty works of Yahweh which He had worked through Moses and Joshua and to began to serve the idols of the people around them (Judges 2:7-13). It took only one generation.

    • @richiejourney1840

      Was not the NAME of YHWH put into Christ? Acts 4:7-12. Is 42:8. Is 62:2. Phil. 2:9. Gods NAME is whatever He wants to use-Ex 6:3-before Moses no one knew the name YHWH…they knew God by other names-El Shadai (God Almighty, God Most High) and The Elohim. We can go on and on. He put His NAME into the Angel of the YHWH (pre-incarnate Christ)-can’t remember the verse at the moment, but they were to completely obey Him because He IS God. Theos is also used by the apostles as His name. THUS, it is an HONOR to be called a CHRISTIAN (simply a follower of YHWH by His newly CHOSEN NAME-JESUS THE CHRIST.

    • @richiejourney1840
      @richiejourney1840 4 місяці тому

      If God made the universe and all things with the “appearance” of age then that is what we go by for that is what we have. He Himself gave the command of the sun, moon, and stars to be used for signs, seasons, days and years. Blame Him for the problem if you must. I don’t think we are to know time exactly anyway for we would and the fallen angels would use it to determine things we are not to know. That’s why God keeps it vague I think. So how old exactly was Adam when he started his “birth date”? How old was everything to begin with before him? We don’t know and neither do you. Don’t try and go with the Literal 7 Days theory either (well you can if you want) because there is at least 8 legitimate ways to interpret Gen 1-3. Who cares if everything is relative to time? It all means the same thing-it’s RELATIVE. God has made sure that not even the atheists can use time against Him. Young earth, old earth…it’s all the same-a RELATIVE MEASUREMENT GAGE-a useful TIMELINE-a meaningful pattern to follow in relation to OUR concept and usage.

    • @richiejourney1840
      @richiejourney1840 4 місяці тому

      I totally agree with you that it only takes mankind a short time to mess things up, but it’s not limited to just a generation of separation. Adam and Eve did it in their own generation. In the Exodus it only took a few days with Moses talking to God before they built an idle for themselves.

    • @richiejourney1840

      I disagree that MOST of todays churches preach a different gospel. In your dogmatic opinion just what is the gospel? They may teach opposing doctrines and dogma’s over certain things, but certainly not a different gospel. There are SOME so called churches that don’t preach it-like health and money or the true cults like LDS and JW’s. Then there are the Catholics with a whole history of wrongs…but I digress because none of us are perfect and is why the Holy Spirit led the Protests of the Protestants.
