Umm Zaynul the Hebrew Scriptures placed standards on what to do and what not to do. They had the Law but the Holy Spirit has not indwell in them for them to keep the law. Hence Jesus fulfilled the law and by His atonement , the Holy Spirit indwells us and we can strive towards holiness
