At around 2:48 you question if the level was meant to load like that. Yes. There's day night cycles and weather in the levels. Why there's day night cycles in the levels is another question, the only thing I've seen that's effected by it is fishing.
CruS modder here-apparently there was a dynamic day night cycle at some point in the development process and was cut out-beyond a couple hardcoded exceptions for the swamp and suburbs levels most of the fog/time config is all in level scenes. The day/night cycle is however fully functional and configurable (as well as fog params) for custom maps :). The rain cycle is directly related to fishing and fishing implants

I found out that b hopping and straying makes you go Mach 3 on the first level and whenever I watch gameplay from other people they play it way more tactical

Mixed with a little more modern stuff with the grapples and whatnot. The movement felt immediately familiar to me. Additionally, I suspect that their flesh is being used to construct many of the biological abominations in this game. Sure, they could be vat grown, but if the value of human life is negative then the cheapest way to obtain flesh is probably murder. From a gameplay perspective, note that while the targets all stay the same the vast majority of NPCs swap textures and dialogue within a certain set of options each time you load the levels, implying that they might be new people.

So good it's Godot! ;) The game engine that developed this game, if you wanna pick up game development now is the time, Unity requires C# (which I LOVE) but it's not a nice introduction, while gamemaker is just 2d... Godot has a much easier language than gamemaker while having a lot of Unity drag and drop features.. It's in between Gamemaker and Unity, Unity is far more developed but so fucking bloated it's unreal..(er pardon the pun) while Gamemaker is so barebones you have to write basic expected things like tweens.. oh wait they finally added them, still painful to use but hey! Godot is for people who wanna learn games EASY, but also don't wanna be treated like a little child. I do tutorials for it, however I'd recommend much better channels to learn Godot but hey! :)

Hence why I feel like this game at least tells me that I shouldn't end up becoming like how YIIK A PostModern RPG since that game was so bad, watching TehSnakerer's review of that made me appreciate how that I, even with my imperfections, can make better stories than how that game tells you that nothing matters and that in the end, everything is gonna be dead and that we can't do anyhting about it, which that lesson in YIIK was poorly done there). Oh HELL yeah, it's LSD inspired. I do not mean Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, I mean the PS1 game. Hell, a lot of the animations appear to be rendering vertex locations to a low resolution viewport much like the PS1 does itself (PGXP emulation aside), leading to those really jerky movements all over. No way in hell did the developers not play LSD. That was just an exploration game. They turned it into so much more. I'm genuinely impressed.

Some of them aren't subliminal messages they're just weird single frames that showed up in the recording. The text on screen during those just says like "I don't know where this frame came from I swear". I tried to not make this video too seizure-inducing, but I mean it was kinda inevitable with this game.

Keep that in mind at least your review didn't have you spout out that random nonsensical thing about your flesh is an automaton like how Civvie11 did his review about how in the True Ending is about all hope being broken and life is eradicated (even though in the ending of that True one, it actually states the main character (aka you as "the player") reboots it to a much better one, since without death, life is boring and unappealing, without light, there would be darkness and the game to me is about how that we shouldn't give up hope and that we need to learn to do better and become better since the world is a cruel place, but that doesn't mean we should end up becoming so f'd up we can't find the light and give said light towards others. Hence why I feel like this game at least tells me that I shouldn't end up becoming like how YIIK A PostModern RPG since that game was so bad, watching TehSnakerer's review of that made me appreciate how that I, even with my imperfections, can make better stories than how that game tells you that nothing matters and that in the end, everything is gonna be dead and that we can't do anyhting about it, which that lesson in YIIK was poorly done there).

Oh HELL yeah, it's LSD inspired. I do not mean Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, I mean the PS1 game. Hell, a lot of the animations appear to be rendering vertex locations to a low resolution viewport much like the PS1 does itself (PGXP emulation aside), leading to those really jerky movements all over. No way in hell did the developers not play LSD. That was just an exploration game. They turned it into so much more. I'm genuinely impressed.

Thanks for the feedback. I personally enjoyed those first two breaks you listed, but I'll keep in mind that it can be annoying. In retrospect that break to explain why I stopped using the game's soundtrack was unnecessary.

Some of them aren't subliminal messages they're just weird single frames that showed up in the recording. The text on screen during those just says like "I don't know where this frame came from I swear". I tried to not make this video too seizure-inducing, but I mean it was kinda inevitable with this game.
