They need to stop the double gunning crap. If you are going to place a delay on a missed sword lunge, then there needs to be a delay on switching guns. PERIOD
@@Korpus_Draige The first time they nerfed it was because you could kill by changing between the pistol and the sniper (don't remember the names) and it was an insta-kill over medium distances and you could only counter it if the enemy missed.

The PC / Console balance has gotten so bad that virtually everyone I used to play with on console has just stopped playing with PC players. I get that PC players want to be as good as possible, so take advantage of the various exploits available to them. Bu they shouldn't get bent out of shape when console players ultimately get sick of it and stop playing on mixed servers. I've heard a few PC players complaining about the filters now available to Xbox players, but I totally get why they don't want to play with PC players anymore.

I love this game to bits, but can they stop changing the cutlass physics. I dont care how many people complain. You cant please everyone, just pick a version that works well and then leave it at that, then people can either practice or get better at the cutlass, or they can complain on the forums.

True but there was a deadly makro user that could spam the sword, that's why we have that shit now. I loved the sword and many others to. But I really don't care, I'm good with sword or not. But double were never intended to be that strong in the game. Just get rid of this run and aim instant thing or something
volauron this is not a competitive game. It’s a casual game to ha e fun with friends and it’s over all pretty chill, of course it caters to newer or casual players.
The top tip for me is to keep your wits about ye this has saved my tail so many times knowing when to act is key in this game as It could mean the difference between a sunken ship (you)and a sunken enemy ship
Blunderbuss will never be used by anybody with integrity as a pro gamer, winning because ypure weapon is overpowered and ypu got lucky isnt the respectable way to win

A single sword slash knocks people off of ladders if I'm not mistaken! I can't remember if it was always like that or not, and maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I recall being surprised by it working, and playing "Ladder Whack-A-Mole" on 2 people trying to board me from both ladders at nearly the same time while I was solo slooping. If so, it can be a huge help when it comes to multiple boarders, or even a single enemy who quickly grabs the ladder again before you're able to reload a firearm!
I'm so glad I found this video. I've had SOT for a while now but I haven't played much until recently so I'm still a little new and suck at PVP lol. These are definitely good advice
To give the castaway and seafarer chests another purpose. Put a bunch on your capstan until you have to *search* for the lower anchor option. This makes it slightly trickier for boarders to drop it.

I usually use sword purely for its movement capabilities. Hold block and then hold sword lunge and you will be able to move freely and also be able to jump while lunging. Also if you do this lunge and strike the ground right before jumping you propel yourself forward. Cuts a bunch traveling to and from the boat.
Fire bombs are 90% psychological, 10% damage, and 20% fun. Nothing strikes fear into the hearts of sailors like the sound of their ship burning down (albeit very slowly).
A nice sword lunge trick I found... hold block, and do a dodge jump just after you hold attack to start the lunge. The lunge wind up continues thru the jump dodge and gives them a lil less time to react
I literally always do a regular jump when charging the lunge, +i always do a jump lunge, even when it's not necessary. Idk, it just feels right to me (and it's also a good practice). I also like to use the jump to get into the best position for the jump, while charging.

I have a tip for everyone, if your moving a thing that you can’t run with use this tip, so you need to drop the thing and hold pickup whilst running and do that again and again and again, it’ll take a while to master but it’s really usefull
Not really a helpful tip because of how situational it has to be but if you drink too much grog and start throwing up, pull out your bucket and throw up in it. then you could use that to blind enemy pirates by throwing it on them. This could help by disorienting an attacker and could land you a easy kill or they might fall off the boat since they have no idea where to go exactly. And if theres multiple enemies welll...you might start a chain reaction of pure puking chaos if your lucky enough. Works well against boarding crews but watch where you throw your barf, crewmates could be blinded too if your not careful.
Im not a double gunner cause holding a sword looks more comfortable, and ultimate stragedy leave something cooking on their ship theyl never know and it will contantly catch on fire

Is there a tip for finding ships that don’t always run away? My wife and I are in a Sloop and have been itching for a fight for days. Ironically the only thing that has actually came at us head on was another sloop. We had a galleon attack us at a skull fort (finally, we’ve done 3 skull forts completely uncontested) and we sunk it with relative ease, with a powder keg and a sneaky boarding with her distracting on the sloop. We’ve had several galleons and brigs run away, and when the new update came out we tried the new reapers chest thing and NOBODY tried anything. We just want to practice PvP, and have had very few opportunities to actually do it
PenolAkushari I wonder if it comes to a time of day thing? We usually play later on weekdays, after the kids are asleep, so maybe most people on around that time just want to grind PvE? Or we are really unlucky and everyone has a ton of loot and is too paranoid to even attempt fighting, Ive done that before lol Idk, it’s strange

You should do a harpoon tips video 1 thing to add is how long a harpoon takes to reach its max length (1.3 seconds) and how long it takes to get a chest,etc with the harpoon (0.3 seconds)
I run sword and blunderbuss or sword and flintlock because the sword is good for a lot of things in general and the blunder I keep because close range is all I try to fight or if someone I know is playing away from me I take a flintlock instead of a blunder so I can hit them better.
Hey just want hitboc to see this so please draw attention to it; I have recently came up with a new idea for the game that would easily fit the current state. A wandering trader, this npc would appear at random outposts and islands offering you slightly discounted prices for clothes, weapons and equipment and you could tell he is there by his small ship. A new set of cosmetics will be unlock able by completing voyages for him. And in the end you can unlock his jacket and his ship hull
we always try and find a rowboat, and put all of out loot on that , yes others can see it better but in a fight we drop the rowboat and row to an out post, while th erest of the crew battle the other ship, yes you cant use cannonballs form a row boat bu t we stock up on food and fireboms,

I've had mixed feelings with the blunderbuss, point blank sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.. I've one shot people up close and other times there's not even the push back nor them dying...
since day 1, i have always gotten extremely excited in pvp if i ever came across anyone ever attempting to use a sword. It is to this day like a free kill in all situations, even on something as limited of an area as a sloop lol. regardless of their skill, and regardless of the point in time where swords were at their best, it has always felt this way for me. but that is just how I feel.
This video is said to have been posted 8 hours from the time i make this comment, which means the Legends of the Sea update has recently just came out, and with that update and at this current state, the sword is at its best spot possible thus far, I agree there are still changes that COULD be made about it, but as of the game right now the cutlass is in a very good state right now. Also, the sword lunge has ALWAYS left you vulnerable after missing it, ever since the alphas even.
I wish the double gun meta was the current meta dude. All it is now is people spamming the LMB or RT and winning the fight because block reg is horrible and you get stunned and can’t getaway. Until the block actually works, they should make the sword not stun you on a hit, so you can get away, and actually skill your opponent and shoot them

I havent played since launch but there was always a delay if you missed a charged shot with the sword unless they got rid of it for awhile

I am 5 days in and it is the best game I have ever played in my life as far as fun goes, and I am old AF now 34. Ruthless game.

When you sword pvp jump up the enemy and attack it will still hit and they cant block it

we always try and find a rowboat, and put all of out loot on that , yes others can see it better but in a fight we drop the rowboat and row to an out post, while th erest of the crew battle the other ship, yes you cant use cannonballs form a row boat bu t we stock up on food and fireboms,

When it comes to pvp I us the cutless and the flintlock and I'm pretty deadly with it

he never mentioned that fact that if you hit the harpoon with a sword lunge, you still have the movement you used to get when you hit the ground before they removed that

@@thegollyer903 Kinda you still have limited turning radius but you can do a sword swing, block, bhop, etc, but you cannot do a complete 360 with your camera
The blunderbuss is fine, it's usless if you take a few steps away. You should only be allowed to use 1 gun.
Aye ... I do miss the cutlass from time to time but then I am just reminded about how bad it is.
Having two guns is completely fine. The blunder is also still useful from several steps away.

I've had mixed feelings with the blunderbuss, point blank sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.. I've one shot people up close and other times there's not even the push back nor them dying...

since day 1, i have always gotten extremely excited in pvp if i ever came across anyone ever attempting to use a sword. It is to this day like a free kill in all situations, even on something as limited of an area as a sloop lol. regardless of their skill, and regardless of the point in time where swords were at their best, it has always felt this way for me. but that is just how I feel.

This video is said to have been posted 8 hours from the time i make this comment, which means the Legends of the Sea update has recently just came out, and with that update and at this current state, the sword is at its best spot possible thus far, I agree there are still changes that COULD be made about it, but as of the game right now the cutlass is in a very good state right now. Also, the sword lunge has ALWAYS left you vulnerable after missing it, ever since the alphas even.
Actually prior to a patch if you missed your sword lunge you could still bring up your sword and quick dash around so you were not so vulnerable.
I wish the double gun meta was the current meta dude. All it is now is people spamming the LMB or RT and winning the fight because block reg is horrible and you get stunned and can’t getaway. Until the block actually works, they should make the sword not stun you on a hit, so you can get away, and actually skill your opponent and shoot them
I prefer to use a cutlass. More...personal.
