@@lifewasgiventous1614 headshot doesn't exist. Only thing that can oneshot you (in terms of guns, not other things like cannonballs), is the blunderbuss, or if two players pistol/snipe you at the same time.
@@lifewasgiventous1614 cannonballs can one-shot you (though it was changed to 70% health for sloop crews since this video). Better crews can coordinate their shots to kill one person with eyes of reach, and then there's the point-blank blunder. Since it was Arcade, there is a good chance that the crew was sweaty enough to coordinate a snipe, or more likely you simply hadn't noticed you were below 70%
@@joneill5298 those two were limited in dukes shop quite some time ago, you needed to finish some special voyages but I don't know what you needed to exactly do there.
When I'm sailing between two destinations, I always stand on the deck and aim for the bell on top of the mast with the pistol. That little "ding" is so satisfying.
After using the Hunter Flintlock for so long i kinda like the "aim slightly lower" due to it not obstructing my target whilst tracking it. Practice Practice Practice.
Thank you for those tips, very useful, even though i havent gotten any of those guns yet because of how plain they are, maybe thats why we keep losing attacks. My husband and i have been playing for a little over a month and we both love it, but we have some terrible luck on the sea with encounters! Seems like everyone attacks us no matter what and weve run into 2 people so far that were actually friendly.
Hey thank you for sharing your story 😊 early weeks you always get attacked , just make sure to keep a distance from anyone. I assume you're always on a sloop, so sail exactly against the wind with sails straight against it, this will get you out of trouble most of the time, as it is the fastest against the wind, if you need any more help, you're most welcome to my discord , 2,000 friendly pirates 😊
Phuzzy, this is my first comment on one of your videos. I have watched several of your sea of thieves videos and guides, and I found them all very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to put them together. My favorite pistol has always been the mercenary due to it actually having a site. Thank you for validating my choice.
Interesting to note here that you seem most interested in pistols whose point of impact seems to line closely with the point of aim. In real life we are taught 'line of white' where essentially you aim at the belt to hit center mass instead of aim at center mass to hit center mass. I've been using the Mercenary pistol but may swap to the Hunter as in your demonstration it seems to line up most with what you would expect with real iron sights

This video honestly did help me a boatload. With a model I was comfortable with (the beautiful Wild Rose Flintlock from Duke) and a bit of practice, I’m making some incredible shots. I can even make an oncoming gunpowder barrel skeleton drop his cargo with relative ease, and have had a few compliments from crew mates. Some even asked if I was using an Eye of Reach!

When I got the game I really wanted the black dog pistol that was the pre order, as soon as the mercenary pistol came out I immediately got it. I agree that those two guns are the best, a flintlock and sword combo is nice. Keep up the good videos 👍🏻

That’s just like the cannons, which he talks about in what is pretty much the cannon version of this video, haha. I use the Forsaken Ashes Cannons, and it took watching that video to realise that they have a higher sight than straight-stopped cannons. I prefer it, though, because it means I’m able to aim a little closer to what I want to shoot. I was already a decent shot up to mid range, but I’ve improved and am hitting long distance shots with decent accuracy thanks to Phuzzy.
Heathen I just figured out how to customize the ship and I turned in 5 of the reaper chest only one 2 manned sloop went after me, it was funny because I was very stocked up, and fire bombed their ship with 30+ firebombs I think it was over kill and I accidentally set myself a flame but that trip I got the 2nd set of reaper cannons it looks shiny c: I got the shark hull livery and black sails and pirate flag to make the Black Pearl c: and I also learned to never touch Kegs because I just explode 🤣 also not to sail over kegs I was at a gold reaper bounty at the end of the day and ran over a stronghold keg and F for my sloop ;-; I sailed with my dingy to a seapost to sell all my fish I have the Hunter of Pondies on my Title now c:
It looks like the Aristocrat Pistol, available in the black market archive from Larinna (currently) is similar in design to the Merc and Onyx Pistols, with a front sight, albeit with a shorter barrel. Could be a good runner's up in the present days of the seas.
i was using seadogs pistol before seeing this and i agree. My 1st gun was the parrot flintlock because I had the whole boat and attire theme thing going on but super hard to aim so i switched. On the no headshots note, they definitely apply to golden skele's after being wet by bucket or ocean.
I only started using the pistol once I got my hand on the mercinary version. Not only does it look cool but it is such a unbelivable advantage to have a sight which does not block your view while aiming at an enemy.
I always felt I was nailing more shots with the sea dog pistol than any other one I own, but to know it's legitimately more accurate when ADS, that seals the deal for me to sword/sea dog pistol for my weapon combo.
You could just put a tiny dot on your monitor where the aiming point is, like tear off a tiny bit of the sticky part of a post-it note, and you’d never have to ADS with the flintlock (at least for close/mid range fighting).

not bad video, for me the best & most easy to use pistol is the mercenary pistol, i use the ice pistol from the winter event, becouse its a nice combo between look nice and fire very good

Great video as usual Phuzzy! In my opinion, the Ferryman Pistol is the absolute best pistol in the game. The sights down the middle line up every shot perfectly. Unfortunately, to get it you have to buy the controller (which is awesome), but it’s sooo expensive now. I bought mine for retail when the game first launched

I'm going to throw in the wild rose flintlock as having one of the most accurate sights in the game. Also if for whatever reason you can't get the merc flintlock, you can just go buy the aristocrat flintlock, it's the exact same thing just a different colour.
You are crazy good with the flint lock pistol! I don't play enuf to be this good Plus I try to avoid fights, But I will take your advice and get some practice.
I use the Parrot Pistol; it took some getting used to but I can nail nearly all of my shots. Normally I aim the tip at wherever I want to shoot, and then I flick it up as I shoot to account for the bullet firing below the tip.
Try a piece of sticky tape on the screen and simply draw a tiny dot with sharpie in the center. Old-school trick that people used to use years ago but still holds up today
I know I'm two years late. But one thing of note with the glorious sea dog pistol: You don't use the barrel to aim. It has a side sight, meaning you use that to aim whilst having full visibility ;)
I watched this video over a year ago and picked up the mercenary pistol. Had to come back to figure out how I’m supposed to shoot the glorious sea dog blunder I mean pistol
I love this video my personal opinion overall is the Sea Dog pistol is the best regardless of price, the Mercenary pistol is great but for aiming the Sea Dog in my opinion is the best maybe that's because I am a little more used to it. I also love taking target practice I have gotten to the point I can hit the bell in the crow's nest about 1 out of 5 times at a distance where I can barley even see the bell thanks Phuzzy for the video. Also cosmetically I like the Brown Sea Dog pistol better than the black.
I switch between mercenary, aristocrat, and sea dog (ruffian). I’ve been mainly using the sea dog pistol. But sometimes I use the bilge rat and admiral.
Kraken is perfect for me personally, just aim center mass and you either get a body shot or a headshot, and comes in my favorite purple color, works for me.

I typically run in the 60 to 70 range. Logged in the other day and it was 1100. I couldn't even loot barrels.

Honestly any of the front sight flintlocks are great to use. Pick your favourite!

i shot a nerf gun tack at my tv on accident but now i have a small white dot that i use as a reticle.

you can use the aristrocrats flintlock as an alternative for the mercs pistol.

For most of the time I have played I have used the sea dog pistol with some blunderbuss mixed in there
I put a dot on my tv in sharpie to help me aim when hip firing 😂
I’ve used the seadog pistol in 1 year. Not because it is good, but because I like the basic design. Gosh I feel lucky
i use the ferryman pistol, because the pointy thing is accurate as hell

Kraken is perfect for me personally, just aim center mass and you either get a body shot or a headshot, and comes in my favorite purple color, works for me.
yea same i just got the game and that was the first thing i bought. works amazingly
