Yep, Chadwick was dealt a tough hand in life and he took it on the chin like a real man, he didn't go crying "Oh poor me" like most of these fake men in Hollywood will over the stupidest little things just to get attention, or worse yet like that Jessie Smollett fabricate something to play the "Oh poor me angle", he took his bad news like a real man and he went out like one and I have the highest respect for that, and I hope that some of that rub's off on little boys that grow up watching his movies.

Chadwick Aaron Boseman was born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina, the son of Carolyn and Leroy Boseman, both African-American. His mother was a nurse and his father worked at a textile factory, managing an upholstery business as well.

You can tell acting was more to him than a paycheck and fame. It was art and he wanted to tell people something when he created it.
Viola and Chadwick will be receiving acting Oscar nominations.
She won and Denzel nominated for “Fences” and another August Wilson play.
Viola is the only Black actor (male or female) to win the Triple Crown of Acting -- an Oscar, Emmy *and* Tony each in acting categories. (Whoopi Goldberg has an EGOT, but only her Oscar was for acting; her Daytime Emmys were for hosting and her Tony was as a producer.) And Viola's current *and* potentially future Oscars, *plus* both her Tonys, are for August Wilson-penned roles; only her Emmy for How To Get Away With Murder came from another source. If Viola does her own singing here, she could go for the EGOT with a Grammy as well as win a second Oscar.

My dear Lord, Viola Davis is beyond amazing. Every single performance is a master class. She is scary in this one and it isn’t even a mystery movie. Her energy, anger and passion is like nothing I’ve seen. Her teeth, sweaty face, runny makeup and voice put the fear in me. Another Oscar for Ms. Davis!
Chadwick had a memorable final performance but I thought Viola was particularly great here. She just exudes acting experience.

Denzel owns the rights to the whole of Wilson's Pittsburgh Cycle. Which if you haven't read you should, they're great plays. Ma Rainey is the best one though.

Yep, the pandemic is going to put Netflix in a good position for the Oscar's because of so many movies that the studio's figure will be big hits having their releases postponed till next year because of their concern for box office sales.

And Netflix keeps delivering, announcing a film with Leonardo Dicaprio, and having a film with Bradley Cooper and Jeremy Strong also in development.

This was a really interesting movie that flowed a lot more like a theater production, with long, dramatic dialogues, and emphasized themes and metaphors. Almost the entire movie takes place in one setting over a number of hours. Apparently, the story was told by Broadway at one point, which possibly explains the way the movie was made. Viola's character was mesmerizing.
Boseman was also really phenomenal. I am so sorry such a bright talent was taken from the world at such a young age

Can't wait for this. It's going to be sad seeing Chadwick in this, not simply because he's gone, but because you can see he gives a heck of a performance. Someone that talented deserved a career long into their life. I guess we can just be thankful he gave us what he gave us, which was a whole lot of good.

He should but I change my mind when I saw the other nominees' performance especially Sir Anthony Hopkins in The Father and Riz Ahmed in Sound of Metal. Chadwick was great but I found other performances that were much superior than Chadwick

Just watched the film. Feels enough like a play to capture the magic of theater but it’s also cinematic enough to keep you entertained. Lovely story and lots of heartfelt and simple moments. I recommend it!

This is August Wilson's greatest play, the cast is perfection, and now to actually get to see what they've done with it, it's more beautiful than I ever hoped it would be when Denzel announced it last year. Netflix you sure as hell better get this into at least one cinema. This needs to be Academy Award eligible. You owe it to this cast and crew.
Watching this trailer makes me so emotional. Chadwick gave it his all within his last years and he didn’t let the pain stop him from doing what he loves. Hopefully he gets an Oscar nod for this

To see Chadwick one more time is a blessing...he gave every single atom..and to think about Denzel....he payed for Chadwick's education in the beginning and he produced his final movie. Way too heavy...I'll be seeing this as soon as it comes out, and Oscars are no doubt with this movie cast.

It’s extremely tragic. What’s worse is the trolls who went after his weight. When women talk about my body bc I’m thin, they don’t understand that I’m a 9/11 survivor that broke multiple bones, head trauma and missing organs. His death felt so personal

This is going to be a tough one for me to watch. I'm guessing he probably gave an Oscar-worthy performance in this one, and that makes it even more heartbreaking. I had the opportunity to visit the Ma Rainey Museum when I was researching my book on Thomas Dorsey. It was a fitting tribute to her contribution to the blues.
Seeing Chadwick and knowing this is his performance really brought me to tears. RIP. You will be greatly missed.

Only problem with this movie is that it’s too short! They could have cut way less off the August Wilson script and gotten away with it. I’m sure everyone easily could have spent more time in this gorgeous setting with such amazing characters!

These guys ACTED. THEY ACTEDDDDDDDDDDDD MY GAWD. Capturing the REAL RAW ESSENCE. I forgot they were who they were and with some actors - it can be hard to forget oh it’s so and so playing this and that. My heart sunk deeper and deeper into WOW as I watched on. Phenomenal performances from the cast. Chadwick and Viola (and the band players?) - BLASTED THIS INTO THE ETHER OF ABSOLUTE PURE UNADULTERATED GREATNESS. Give them ALL the AWARDS - NOW. I stand in awe. As an actor - one can pray and work work work and strip tremendously just to be the incredible actors Viola and Chadwick are. Their depth is TRULY PROFOUND. So happy to see them acting together. They are unmatched. They literally give LIFE. My Gawd
