Geek Gaming Workshop created these base-ready ranges and I found their Mars base is PERFECT to create a simple and quick Mars -style base for all your Iron-Blooded Orphans Fans. Awesome video, this actually helps a lot. I've been wanting to make a Diorama for quite a while now, however every other video I've seen makes it look very complicated or I just over think it. Would love to see a urban city diorama (like from Gundam Unicorn Ep.3) or a space station (like the tunnels you have to travel through to get vehicles and weapons from hanger to hanger).

Nice, love the basing, and Geek Gaming's stuff looks so good doesn't it, if you prime the whole lot black then mask out the sides you can get it even faster and get a super crisp line round the base.

Soooo cool! I love the reference to unoxidized bottom surface, so geologic (😉😉😉). Good tip to use fingers for giving the surface an uneven look. Also a ball made of aluminum foil can give a nice rough texture too to the ground. Your Mars surface looks very realistic.
As far as future diorama are concerned, I’m thinking a Moon or asteroid based theme would be nice. The black and light grey contrast of the barren surface with craters should look great in contrast with a bright colored Mobile Suit.

@@PlamoTherapist, you recreated the Martian surface very realistically! Yeay for the asteriod diorama! I did a very small asteroid base for my 1/500 scale Big Zam and I like it very much! A short video is on UA-cam.

I'd love to see a city diorama. More so for potential reviews of any pre-built building 😅 but also that's my favorite type of diorama

@@PlamoTherapist 😁 scale doesn't matter too much. My poor hands are hurting from working with HGs so I have a little MG that I'm currently working on and will probably only be customizing in the future lol!

@@PlamoTherapist poor choice of adjective! 😅😅 it's a ground type GM. Wanted to start with something less expensive, but with my first LED work, it's starting to add up lol!

I think an asteroid based diorama would suit your skill set very well! Plus if you wanted to experiment you could even have the asteroid contain other environments (such as crystals, diffrent types of rocks, resources, ect.)
Oh snap! I have plans for a simple astroid diorama, but that sounds like a cave diorama and that sounds AWESOME!!!! 🤯 I'll have to figure out what kits to use for that and what other tidbits I can add. Thank you for the amazing idea. 😁

@@PlamoTherapist I'm actually re-teaching myself 3d modeling to make 3d print-able mecha dioramas (mostly focused on neon genesis evangelion, but definitely want to make something with a few zakus)

I am so sorry this response took so long. I was trying to find the exact brand that I am using and I finally found it! It's called Celluclay by Activa and it's basically a paper and plaster mixture. You can buy the exact thing I have online, but I hear Sculpt-a-mold is better and can be bought in much larger quantities.
