    I'm currently researching new parts of Japan to visit in-- hopefully-- 2022 and just found this video. Thank you so much for making it. There are so many different kinds of ramen and I love that you explain the flavour and components of each. The worst ramen I've ever had was in Fuunji in Shinjuku. As for Aomori, I bought an apple in Gifu prefecture which had just come down from a farm in Aomori and it was by FAR the sweetest, crunchiest, juiciest apple I've ever eaten in my entire life. It was so sweet that I had to share half with my husband. I am now most eager to visit Aomori prefecture after watching your ramen tour. Thanks Frank! :)

    • @5AMRamen
      @5AMRamen  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks so much for watching! The world of ramen is a deep one, with a crazy amount of styles, as you said. Aomori apples are indeed like candy, haha. Besides ramen or apples, what makes Aomori great (and the greater Tohoku region) is that they don't get as many tourists as Hokkaido or other areas of Japan. This said, you'll sometimes feel like you'll have the place to yourself (especially vs Kyoto or comparable areas during peak season). Definitely worth considering Aomori for a trip. In the coming months, I'm going to be adding more Tohoku ramen videos too 😃

    Ahhh, I went to that curry milk place. The first time, I wasn't paying attention and got shio. Then I realized my mistake when I unpacked at the hotel then came back later for the no 1. Definitely a unique ramen. I also walked way outta town for some thick niboshi ramen, at Nagao.

    • @MMMmyshawarma
      @MMMmyshawarma 3 роки тому

      @@5AMRamen Nagao sells out of their ultra thick fishy bitter niboshi stuff pretty early, at least before 1pm. Apologies and all, they didn't have to, they gave me the standard. TONS of niboshi, on top of tonkotsu stock. Like, even in this normal one flecks of scale were still iridescent off the broth, good fish, decent bitterness as you'd expect.

      The ramen world is insanely diverse and it only gets more and more diverse every year! There used to be a place in Tokyo that had this style...but they're gone. There are some places that do curry ramen and even curry miso ramen...but for all three I think you have to go up to Aomori!
