This looks so fun! I found it interesting how you had a difficult time understanding the Aomori dialect at first. It remind me of when I traveled to northern England and Scotland. Despite being raised around British accents, I could not understand anything for the first few days. 😆

tell me about it, i am not a native speaker but i have still interacted with english speakers, then i went to visit my sister who moved to scotland and her husband and i really wondered if what the person was speaking was some new form of english i didnt know about

@@nopenope6151 It's so true! I spent my first week in Scotland just nodding and smiling and hoping the very kind people didn't realize I couldn't understand them. Fortunately, everyone I met was very patient with me and so welcoming.

Two things: 1 I'm very happy you didn't give up when you left behind your camera. 2 That is amazing price for salmon! I pay $6/lb here in Georgia, USA.
Also, I have seen many videos of Aormori over the past several years and I adore the place, but I may never be able to visit. So, thank you for the effort of filming. It is a satisfying thrill to merely watch.

I think you would love some of the food from my part of Louisiana, U.S. We have cajun food. Also my area is a HUGE rice producer. We have so many dishes with rice that would be so foreign to you. Boudin (like a stuffed sausage), "dirty rice" which is like fried rice, jambalaya, gumbo, shrimp creole, and many more. It would give you lots of new ideas when making rice dishes. Also our seafood is AMAZING.

I was watching The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House on Netflix and loved it... Two of the characters in the series are from Aomori where they move to Kyoto to become Maiko san.... I have travelled extensively in Japan but not to Aomori.. I was curious what Aomori is like after watching the series and I'm happy you uploaded this video! Now I have a fairly good idea of Aomori! Thank you Aki san...🥰

You mentioned visiting your village, but when I looked at transportation options, I noticed there are no trains or buses that go there. How would someone visit your village? I love the inaka in Japan, but it is challenging to travel there since I'm unable to rent a car in Japan. :-)

I'm interested in knowing more about conveyer belt sushi; how do you pay? Do you take your plates to the cashier so they can tell what color they are and figure out the price that way? I've seen conveyer belt sushi in New York City but was too intimidated by the conveyer belt to try it , lol. What is the etiquette?

There's so many people breathing freely that I feel comfortable breathing freely too. I cherish my health a lot but masks don't stop miniscule germs. Www....Hope to visit Japan maybe next year when things are more normal? シンガポで 青森りんごjuiceあります。最高です。~~ Have fun

Japan imports so much fish, more than any other country, even when surrounded by sea and ocean. Isn’t that unsustainable?
