Perfect Dive Computer. Easy to use. After twelve dives I can say...amazing Shearwater Dive Computer. The vibration alert is very good! Once you're connected on your mobile or laptop you can easily download updates , change the language (for me French :-) ) The menu of the Shearwater Cloud should also be in French and this would be perfect (PARFAIT)
Shearwater giving you extras is a real thing, and love them for it. Great customer support. I had a faulty screen protector (with reverse installation instructions), and immediately got a replacement and some goodies with it 🙂
Good review Mark, thank you. I am firmly in the recreational diver category and seriously considered the Peregrine for my next dive computer (I'm in need of an upgrade). However, the lack of AI stopped me cold. Do you not think that a modern, top-end (recreational) dive computer should have AI at this stage? Or at least an AI option?
The simplicity of the peregrine with air integration would be perfect. I guess I’d have to bump up to the perdix for the air integration, even though I’m just a recreation diver?
Hi Mark, In general, how important or useful is the air integration feature on dive computers compared to checking my manometer? I'm looking to buy my first dive computer and really like look of the Peregrine, but it doesn't have an A.I. feature. Should I buy the inexpensive zoop Novo and later see which dive computer that supports A.I. I want and switch to that one, or decide now that A.I. is not that important, and go for the Perigrine and be set, as I do not plan to go into technical diving. Also, how do you feel about digital compasses Vs. an analogue one additionally worn on the wrist? Thank you in advance, and keep up the awesome work with Shaun! #askmark Tom
I think so and even more so if they added a digital compass. Given that the Peregrine is using the same firmware as the Perdix and Perdix AI, i bet it is very possible bearing any hardware they would have to add/activate. Adding those two features and keeping the tech stuff out would make this a killer computer for REC if priced right, like say 600-700 range? Course you still have the cost of the transmitter :)
I hate how all the hard core AI guys automatically count it out. I always dive a spg along with my computers no mater what they are so the AI is just like a little added bonus in my opinion. And that’s it. For your average rec diver. This is all you will ever need.
Call me old school, but I’ve never used AI. I’ve always just looked at my air gauge. I have this computer and I like it. Just went to charge it for the first time though and I’m having a difficult time knowing when it’s fully charged, but I’ll figure it out.
I wish manufacturers and reviewers would stop treating AI as a technical feature. It is just as important for recreational diving. An argument could be made that it is more important.
I have already made about six dives with it and I am very happy with it.

I log my Dives on my MacBook Pro 💻 with Divelog, a free app. Would I also be a le to log them there as well?
No air integration 😢
I just got mine, it looks amazing, cant wait to go diving with it.
Just bought one as backup and love it . My main is a Perdix AI and both are great computers . Very easy to use .

Agree
I know right!
They want us to purchase the Perdix. But too much of the Perdix is overkill.

do u think there will be an update for the compass ?

when will you be having it back in stock????
Mark, great review. If they would have had a AI option and a compass, it would take over the market. Agree?

Hi, i just bought mine and used it twice but forgot to charge it afterwards. it doesn't seem to work now even after trying to charge it.. any advice?

If it would had AI and a compass... but not the tech stuff like the perdix 2
