There’s actually mounting points for a fan housing BMW makes (or made). Police models came with that original fan installed.
Even if you can’t (or won’t) buy the original part, you could make a support bracket for a generic fan, using those original mounting points because I believe those cable ties will not last long with the radiator heat (and they could eventually caught fire).

Nice work. Previos owner also instal the fan. Where must air blow? Into the cooler or out from the cooler (suck hot air from the oil cooler).

Should be puller fan as the air flows from front.

I have some doubt about this solution:
First of all the target is to move heat from a side to another in a few time
    Is the fan water resistant?
Could the fan and cable tie bear continously the temperature of the radiator?
How much is the airflow of this fan? The airflow of automotive fan is hundred of mc/h, this (I suppose is of a PC chassis) is about 10/20 mc, imho it isn't enough when you have over heating issue
When the air is heated (about 100°C or more), the density will decrease, so the potential airflow became important.
I have some time overheating issue and the amount of heat is very high
So I know that is important to cool down the engine

This is great, definitely not as good as RTP fan and bracket. Also the bike had no overheating issue. But I think it would be better than nothing, I wish BMW could make the RTP fan standard on all RTs and GSs...

The radiator can accept original BMW fan. Is it a much safer option. Only 2 screws necessary. No cable ties trough the fins.

What temperature did you finally set the thermostatic switch at. I just copied your installation and am trying to settle on a good temperature to kick on the fan.

The only thing concerning me is how this fan will react to moisture, or even splash of water from the oncoming traffic in the rain. I don't think that it is waterproof. Otherwise, excellent idea.

Yes, RT-P fan is probably a better idea.

This device can only last 40 seconds
Or do you stop the fan until the temperature drops?

    • @MaxReviewss
      @MaxReviewss  11 місяців тому

It is based on temperature, so until it drops

How can a 24 Volt fan run on 12 Volts? Where you found the fan?

    • @MaxReviewss

Easily my friend, many electronic devices can perform on broad range of power. This is from an EV charger heat exchanger, you can buy similar ones from Ebay.
