My hubby is INFP. He is definitely not one to show his feelings but boy oh boy is actually sensitive. My ENTJ ass accidentally stomps on his feelings probably too often. Especially when it comes to his thoughts on something. I don’t have feelings attached to opinions often. All his opinions are attached to feelings! So when I scoff or disregard a trivial (to me) opinion, he feels disregarded as a person. I’m trying to know him better, and myself, so I can be better. 🖤
Soooooo much time in our head, and yes, maddening is truly the best word for it. We cannot shut off our brains... That beginning, "poor INFP's" lol, too cute... We are, more often than not, in our own little worlds not even realizing other types are hard core judging us! Can't wait for the type development podcast! ♥
I think thats the hardest thing for non INFPs to accept is that we need our space at times we need to be alone and its NOTHING to do with them and yes it will come out of nowhere. Yes INFPs could do better to simply explain their need for space in advance
I'm an infp that's in mid 30s. I found this very knowledgeable. Every part even the ones yall worried about addressing. I truly needed this today. Thank you
By far the most encouraging INFP video on the net. I feel understood. Thank you for sticking up for us, and for presenting introverted feeling in a positive (and accurate) light.
So, so happy to hear this. You INFPs are amazing and should hear it way more often! ❤ Also, thank you 🤓 I got them from GLEAM Eyewear! She's a good friend of mine 🥰 (www.gleameyewear.com) -- Amanda 🌻
Your description of the Fi/Si loop is so true. My recent ex-girlfriend is 61 years old and she does that so much and it's been a struggle for us because she can be so closed off to anything I say and she misunderstands me a LOT. And she thinks I'm trying to control her just when I'm enjoying and sharing my Te. Her parents were very controlling and she does not go into her Ne very much so she tends to project her past experiences on to me. Or she did. I actually backed a way from our relationship due to her being callous and passive aggressive. I developed my Fe 2 decades ago and I swear I have way better Fe and communication skills than she does. It was sad because I liked her but I felt emotionally abused by her sometimes. She would get so defensive and lash out at me out of the blue. My PREVIOUS relationship before her was when I was married to another INFP (she's younger, 55) and she was totally different. She was just as reserved and go-with-the-flow but could be just as stubborn at times as my recent ex, but she was a very mature and kind woman and she was not defensive about her Te at all. If she was insecure about it, she never showed that. She just always admired my Te and complimented me on it and I always complimented her on how much of a genius she was (she really is - we used to always argue that the other one was smarter than ourself) and I never saw some of the negative traits you hear about with other INFPs. She and I are still good friends today and we actually work together (in our own businesses).
Wow. I was married to my ex for 16 years. She is without a doubt a social 4. She tested as an INFP and it did make sense. But I am now certain that is her type. I find myself trying to understand our interactions in the past and I feel like I have huge insights now. I wish I could share, but we are not friends unfortunately. I am not allowed to talk about her mental health which is understandable. But wow, she has a very strong internal core value system that cannot be challenged. She does take on the moral weight of the world on her shoulders and is a huge advocate of the underdog. The Fi Si loop is totally her. I see her as the tortured soul. She is so full of shame and regret. I truely feel sorry for her. And the inferior Te sensitivity...well it just explains alot in our interactions. Wow, just huge insights. Thanks guys for the information. I'm hooked on the MBTI and your channel. I love your hearts! So Jessie not sure if you are still doing the consultation. But I am fairly certain that I'm an INFJ. But I would really like your oppinion and confirmation of this.
Me too. I think this phenomenon explains where most of my stress is focused. My Ne Parent wants to consider every possible perspective (or rather feels compelled to), but that puts too much of a workload on my Si Child, so I just end up burning myself out. It's like hitting the gas and the break at the same time. Also, while listening to this, it occurred to me that The Hobbit movie explains this phenomenon pretty well (when Gandalf (Ne) is trying to convince Bilbo (Si) to come along).
Wow, I really appreciated the explanation of the conflicts and loops. I’ve struggled with those so much throughout my life. Sometimes I would worry I was losing my sanity! Thank you for being respectful of our weirdness. ;-)
Infps are actually pretty good at Ti though so I don't quite understand why you think they are illogical. Are they not well educated or they don't read a lot? The last shadow function works in conjunction with the first function. It's called mirror function. So Ti works in conjunction with Fi. Hence Infps should be good at using Ti, maybe they are not good at expressing themselves verbally or they simply won't share the reason. What they struggle with is Se and Te. Due to this reason interestingly enough Enfjs are actually better at Te than Infps while Infps are better at Ti than Enfjs.
Thank you for making this video. It felt like..a hug 😂 I haven't read about INFP things in a while because I definitely understand myself a lot more now as I'm older but this was very helpful. I think I'm coming out of loop now. It's been very hard with the rumination. Being surrounded by the stress of my in law family hasn't helped. It definitely explains why I had so much trouble writing my book whilst living there. Really insightful video. Also, I had no idea INFP's are the butt of the jokes HAHA that's so funny. 😂
And that’s why the general description of enfj & infp being a good match is flawed, i think all feelers need a thinker to help rationalize their feelings.
Great video. Love how y’all avoid the stereotypes and speak together so seamlessly. Keep up the excellent work! Let me know if you need another INFP for your project.

Thank you for this. Yes, we are the butt of everyone's jokes on the net it seems as INFPs. I have definitely been targeted. I would be interested in doing one of these interviews. I don't know much about it though as I literally just found your channel today. I'll go watch the other video explaining things more.
I just stumbled across your videos, when I was looking for info regarding the ISFP type for my daughter. I'm an INFP, so just started this video, and then we will be watching the INFJ video (my husband). Are you still looking for people to interview? We'd be willing to help, if needed! 😊
I agree, at a personal level, just leave the infps Fi alone. However, it's when the subjective values/beliefs are imposed on the world that a problems in society can occur. Fi Hero's can do as much damage to society as they are good for society. So, it just depends on the particular value imposed as to whether or not they should be thought through (for society) or not :)
Curious what examples you can present for these problems? Inferior Te presents a formidable barrier to realizing Fi passion. I can't really think of any megalomaniac INFPs who've foisted their values upon the greater world to any dire detriment (although I'd bet you could think of a few who've offered their visions to others by way of inspiration through e.g., the arts or philosophy or through manifest insights like MBTI itself). That said, I'll agree that *all* values should be thought through.
I have a question. Can an infp stop using their Ne after a traumatic phase in life? If this is possible, can you explain why this happens? I am an infp and i think I am stuck in this loop for long time now.
Any trauma can throw us off course. I'm sorry you experienced that, friend 🖤 If you'd like to message us, we'd be happy to dive in further with you! You can contact us on FB/IG or email at typecastheroes@gmail.com. --A🖤
What if their Fi is rooted in fascism or ISIS, should they follow it? You guys are forgetting that INXPs have Si child which seeks comfort. Their Si storage unit will dictate how their Fi shows up, unless their Ne can roam the Earth to explore all kinds of philosophies, lifestyle, or you name it to truly figure out their value system.
On 16 personalities i came out as intp but human metrics link you provided i came out as infp. How do you differentiate? It said "You have marginal or no preference of Feeling over Thinking (3%)" Can you be both at same time because i identified lot with your video on intp but what i think is my "logic" can be my "values" right? Could you help me figure this out

We actually developed the system you’re talking about now...so don’t go about saying we’re not logical...it’s conceptual logic rather than sensory logic....and we’re rare and special and that’s why we’re picked on because of jerky projected mass produced garden variety SJ/SP jealousy...there’s some inferior Te for ya!
I love how you stuck up for INFPs.

as an iNFP, reading this made my heart smile. You're so kind!
I love INFP’s they are the sweetest personality big hearts love there brains
Wow that feel nice to here sometime ... thanks
For some reason I cried when you talked about not needing to justify my feelings.

I'm an INTP who lost his INFP friend in a car accident.... I miss him sooooooooooooo much.....
I am sorry for your loss.
Geez this video describes me too much! 😅
Thank you for admitting that we are always made fun of. Some don't acknowledge that.
-INFP.
I am so happy it resonated with you!

The NE/SI PUSH PULL is so real for me. I can't believe it that they are describing what is going on in my head so well.
Me too. I think this phenomenon explains where most of my stress is focused. An enigma even to me. The INFP must be billions of years old
It clicked for me what was going on as soon as she explained it. So grateful to finally understand.

Hi! I'm an INFP and am willing to be interviewed! :) And THANK YOU for this video! It made me feel understood for once. :)
Right it's sometimes shocking to feel understood
We are the butt of the jokes but infp be like still look at me, im (proudly) infp. Lol.
36 INFP here ... awesome job
24:20 YES. Similar experience for me as an ISFP. My ENFP pretty much makes me do it (take some time off) haha 😆
That internal fight (loop between 1st and 3rd function) is definitely stressful.. it's why I haven't been back to school
As an ENFJ, I have a hard time being around the chaotic, often melancholy disposition that many INFPs seem to favor.
And that’s why the general description of enfj & infp being a good match is flawed, i think all feelers need a thinker to help rationalize their feelings.

Let them experiment and change, they are using Ne to build on their Si

From my experience, INFP men are not very capable of commanding respect.
INFP girls are lovely though.
No one likes it when you be yourself.
