All frames, abilities, names, and game assets are the property of Digital Extremes.
Eximus specters are the WF equivalent of "the boss when you fight him vs the boss when you unlock him as a playble charcter (or summon in this case)"
So very true!
@@kes_poco As a big Nyx fan, base level enemies struggle against each other. Low levels are fine, but my immortal mind control Baruuk learned the hard way that Steel Path enemies are not Steel Path viable dps. Even eximi against the weakest foes was a slog without a damage boost.
@@kes_pocoin theory yes, but the big changes come in the context. Because the abilities are made specifically to go against you but are now directed away from you, the apparent advantages you would get for such a thing are more or less stripped. Having the specters as just specters isn't really worth it because most specters of enemy units will barely do any damage, even bombards and heavy gunners, purely because of how enemy health and armor works compared to our own. Meanwhile eximi such as the energy leech as shown in the video are borderline useless because they are specifically geared to render YOU useless, because no other entity in the game has a UI to fuck up or an energy pool to decimate.
@@kes_poco Warframes have hundreds or thousands of health and can survive being shot by enemies. At the same time, Warframes have to deal hundreds of thousands or even millions of damage to kill high level enemies. Because of this, turning an enemy which deals maybe-lethal damage to a Warframe against other enemies with vastly more hitpoints, they become comparatively weak.
Nah that’s when you fight liches versus when they’re crew mates
I once stumbled into a hydron lobby where a nekros decided to drop an ancient healer, I, of course, having every syndicate specter in my gear wheel, decided to also drop an ancient healer for the memes
long story short, by the end of the next wave we had all individually dropped every single syndicate specter + all dropped a warframe specter + all of nekro's summons and had a small army, most fun I've ever had in a lobby
Every once in a while I'll see somebody drop a specter and instantly drop all of mine in the hopes to recreate that lobby
Specters are worth it to keep in your gear wheel for those funny moments alone
I like to use Excalibur Umbra as my specter, because it's like roleplaying that it's not a specter, it's just Umbra coming along and helping you out.
Well he WOULD get bored just sitting around in my orbiter watching Frost and Lavos have all the fun
Umbra's quite a reliable specter, too. I remember using him with the Vectis to casually breeze through the Index, way back when. what a great frame.
@@_.violyse._ Unfortunately, he's caught a lot of nerfs since then. DE gave him shaky hands, so he basically can't use any snipers or any single shot weapons, plus all the nerfs to Wukong and Equinox that he ended up receiving as well.
@@TeHPHoBoS999 Yeah, it's true, and annoying af lol. He's not unsalvageable though if you're interested. Atm, when I play them, I like to give my Duality/Wucklone/Umbra 2 battery-mag based weapons in the primary and secondary. That way I can get them using both weapons. For the accuracy, beams, weapons with impact detonations, and projectile waves help a lot and cover for this problem. That gives us options like: a ton of kitgun set-ups, Tenet Cycron, Basmu, Bubonico, Shedu, and a few others I imagine. Status based set-ups, particularly heat, work pretty well like this. Hopefully that helps if you like messin' around with Wukclone/Duality/Umbra.

I'm just happy to see so many fellow Specter users in the comments.
I love those rare moments when the whole squad uses specters and everyone deploys one of everything and the game just can't handle it.
I love this!
I love specters, I grew up with a potato pc and just cannot be in squads especially open worlds with how far behind I get, specters always compensated for that and even today with a better modern pc I still use them.
I feel like it's important to note that because Specters can benefit from auras, stacking Power Donations in a coordinated squad can make the Nidus specter give significant Power Strength bonuses. This is often utilized in the meta Arbitration groups, where everyone but a Wisp takes Power Donation, the Wisp has subsumed Roar, and the Wisp pops a Nidus Specter in order to lead to extremely powerful Reservoirs and Roars so long as you cast while linked, and the link has surprisingly high uptime when you stay in place.
This video however was not a "this is how you min max sweat your way through 12 hours of arbitration survival" it was a general overview.
Vauban works amazingly as a specter as well, specially for defense-related missions. He uses most of his kit and diversifies a lot his playstyle, variations of his second skill included.
I was about to mention Vauban Specter, I'm a huge fan of him, he puts in work with the random loadout I haven't even changed since probably MR4 or something, I'm currently MR25. With a good vantage point, his tesla nervos are fantastic.
@@BoogyMushrooms Same here lol
@@nearthe2nd Very true. He was my first choice of specter (after figuring out how it work by accident with Volt the first time) and haven't looked back since.
He's already super nice to play as, in any case, and although Wisp can be quite useful and effective as support as well (I have a separate loadout with her "for rainy days"), he remains my main choice whenever I need an extra hand in missions here and there. 👌🏻
Addding that same, Vauban's CC is fun. I used to main him so it feels good to see the old man back.
Don’t forget about throwing proboscis cernos on your specters, especially if you want them to swap back and forth between primary and secondary often with something like a nukor
Great tip! I shall give my specters the proboscis cernos now
If you want them to insta-swap off their primary, Basmu (unfortunately) fills that role far too well. Takes about a half second for them to give up waiting for it to recharge and just use their secondary.
@@TeHPHoBoS999 yeah Basmu works great for that as well. I was suggesting the Proboscis Cernos for the occasional grouping coupled with random switching between primary/secondary. Basmu or some other small ammo supply beam weapon is superior if you want to force them to go with secondary as much as possible
Note that the ancient healer specter does also provide knockdown resistance which is actually useful in lower mr‘s that dont have the unairu focus tree or primed sure footed
Not only that, but immunity to any status, including radiation, useful on rad hazard defenses.
The Trumna is absolutely ridiculous on specters or on-call crew. No recoil, no reloading, decent range, love it.
There is also the Desert Skate spectre from doing baro's weekly mission that you can buy from him if you are equipped with Inaros Prime
yep but its even worse then his other specters soo
@@simonsoupshark8009 but it's a sand stingray therefore it's the best specter
"I wouldn't use this one" Corrupt lancer heat inherit builds flowing to my brain still tho
Isn't heat inherit only so powerful because you multiply the bane mod twice?
@@HoepRemains right I forgot he dont get mods
I mean, you could only single dip the bane mod, and he probably wouldn't be able to provide enough heat to sustain heat inherit dps, so...
personally i use frost specter, if you tell him to stand still he will reliably cast snow globe to defend some objectives. niche but easy to use and reliable
Baruuk can also be a good option since he can give damage reduction/disarm to objectives
Octavia is a classic specter as well, and Mag can be fun. Octavia saved me quite some times when I forgot to equip the right stuff etc., great panic button. Her energy passive is nice as well, and she keeps herself alive a lot of the time.
Great call on Covenant btw., never stopped to think that ability doesn't need stats whatsoever.
In my experience Vauban is a decent specter, especially in interception and defense. Surprised you didn't mention him.
YES
As a Nekros Main, I love specters because they just add more to my ever growing army. Its so much fun in public and LFG lobbies because my teammates never know what the enemies are!!
Does a Nekros specter soul punch or use it's 4? That would be nuts. lol.
With the new enemy highlight people can know
You are EVIL
My latest specter build is Citrine with Arca Plasmor. She's great, and my theory with the weapon is that a few radiation procs are more valuable to me than any damage specters can do, and something that mediates their horrible weapon accuracy is a good thing. Plasmor is pure rad, has body PT and a wide projectile...and will kill a few things too.
I was a little surprised Oberon didn't make your list. Particularly great for point defense like solo Interception.
Probably worth mentioning under "Restrictions" : Specter behavior in Nightmare missions, lol.
+1 for Oberon specter.
Shield osprey underrated imo. He is really good for defence missions. He keeps the objective shielded when nobody has a defence frame, you just have to keep it put at the objective, otherways it floats away lol
I literally looked if you had posted a video on soecters like 2 days ago. Thanks a ton man!
Your videos are to the point and absolutely full of useful information. Without your content i would never understand MOST of the systems in warframe, let alone be able to feel like im makong proper use of them.
I dont reccomend youtubers, but your channel is one i reccomend at every relevant oppurtunity.
Tenno Specters Recommendations 11:20
Caliban
Citrine
Harrow
Hydroid
Nidus
Nyx
Protea
Styanax
Wisp
Special Mention: Grendel
(Where's Octavia and Oberon specters?!)
i’ve used oberon for the longest time and still every now and then
Ive enjoyed a Wisp specter with Basmu, kronen prime, and a custom kitgun i made. It was based off of a post i read that recommended it.
However, glad to see a real pro knowing what they're talking about making an up to date look at specters. Really help me on defense missions or times when my allies arent...the most skilled
Caliban Specter sounds very interesting! Especially the fact that he himself can defense strip thanks to his Fusion Strike.
You should mention Octavia Specter as she also passively give Energy Regeneration as well... not to mention her to compete against Styanax. But if Styanax just straight up does better than Octavia in terms of Energy Economy, then I might try him as well.
Every single video of yours is perfection. Just want to say thanks
Here is my caliban's army build:
Caliban with nyx's 1st ability from helminth + nyx's specter(she converts enemies) + kalh's ship + crew summon + syndicate summon + a hound(with the mod to divide in 3 mini hounds) or a companion with the mod to multiply itself from son.
Enjoy the battle
I've found Wisp's specter to be the most useful for general play. Her buffs are just all around helpful for every frame and mission. Gave her the Nataruk, Tenet Cycron, and Stropha.
Wukong spectre is a good "look at me" spectre, you can get a 1+1 deal with him not to mention he's hard to kill. Other than that Trinity is also good for the heal, and energy
Does he use his 1 ability now or did you mean something else
I'm surprised you didn't include Trinity in the useful Specter Frame list. Give you energy from time to time, reliable source of healing, a solid support if you ask me.
Surprised you didn't mention Octavia. She uses her full kit and while her unmodded 3 doens't give great bonuses, it still gives an armor boost and can be used to go invisible. her passive is up nearly all the time, meaning pretty consistent energy trickle, and her 1 and 2 still do decent enemy distraction and scaling damage. She's eben my go-to for a while, but i'm stoked to try out a few of the ones you've suggested to see how I like them.
I do also hope you do a video on Wukong's celestial twin sometime. I feel a lot of people completely misuse him as an excuse to go afk, or avoid stagger. Even when people try to use him, they use weapons and mods that don't work as well since the clone can't trigger buffs like the galvanized mods or get combo. Honestly a lot of modding philosophy with Wukong's cone that also applies to robotic weapons, though DE did us a favor by limiting the mod selection so people stop doing bad modding practices.
Thanks again, for another great, well researched and tested video!
Sorry to double comment, but I also thought another good thing to know about specters is what buffs apply to them. Nourish? Motes? Vex Armor? Probably make for a good video on it's own.
Somewhat related to that, I noticed a couple times on my Nekros where shots my shadows were making were showing corrosive damage/procs after getting the Wymling's Aid decree in duviri circuit. I haven't been able to confirm it, but I'm stoked for the eventual release of a break down of decrees, though i know that's going to be a pain to test and confirm and record footage for.
Galvanized mods don't work on wukong clone?
@@jaykejohnston6608 nah. clone doesn't activate any self-buffs, and doesn't benefit from any buffs on you. so galvanized mods, berzerker's fury, most arcanes, set mods (vigilantes) etc don't work on it. also, incarnon's don't apply, so if you activate an incarnon weapon, then try to get your clone to use it, it'll be the normal form of the weaponin your clone's hands. to build good wukong clone weapons, focus on stuff that applies to immediate damage instances, so most straight bonuses are best (eg + multishot, + status, +60/60, etc), though a few conditionals work, such as condition overload and secondary encumber. I think most group buffs work, such as nourish, motes, etc, but not all.
Personally, I like use kuva nukor with secondary encumber, and very direct non-scaling mods in order to use the twin as a status spreader, so i can run around with any melee with condition overload and get wild bonuses without having to go back and forth constantly. though with new pet mods, this strat might be changing a lot.
Even vigilantes no increased fire rate?time for rework
@@jaykejohnston6608 nah, the fire rate shoudl be fine, but the set bonus of the primary weapon critical bonus thingy won't apply to the clone using hte weapon
I like using Volt for hallway survivals. He maintains almost 100% uptime on his shield and uses his ult when enemies get too close.
I love the grendel specter , it's just amazing lol
Great video, i'll try to Kahl's next
Nidus is awesome for any mission that needs defending. He doesn’t cast tentacle but he does cast his 4 a lot! It’s surprisingly reliable and effective
Just want to note that I've dropped a vapor wisp at the start of most arbitrations , cedo, kuva nukor, hate. and its still been standing at the 2 hour mark without being renewed or noticibly dropping off damagewise, I think if the loadout it geared towards status effects completely the scaling is solid. Imho, can't wait to see your breakdown on the new shield gating, and the mod that makes the whole thing a waste of time. XD
8:00 tenno spectre blueprints are level/planet based. The wikis is king here. Comics are stupidly east to get because of this as most people tend to clear the missions via stealth killing wardens. The Vapor come from actively “failing” some of the side objectives but each can create 10 spectres (10,5,3,1) and are the technically hardest bps to get as you have to fail a bonus or2 in a mission difficulty where companion weapons can clean house.
Octavia uses mallet.
Mallet absorbs enemy damage, allowing the specter to effectively create a zone if instant death regardless of enemy level.
Octavia also gives buffs and turns off enemy AI with resonator.
Solid option.
My favorite specter to use is Trinity. I'm 100% convinced that dang thing is literally IMMORTAL.
Back when Kuva Survivals were still rather new, I went in there with a full squad; and spawned a 2 star Trinity specter almost immediately after loading in for the additional firepower, her kit, and to get some additional Corrosive procs from the Scourge I had equipped on her.
And she NEVER died. Even when the Grineer got to a point that all 4 of us were getting one-tapped, Trinity was standing tall and at full health. And she was SERIOUSLY trolling us too.
There were multiple times where no one in the squad caught sight of her in a while, leading us to be convinced she finally got killed; only for her to come running around the corner STILL alive and STILL at full health.
Qorvex specters can provide status immunity and sometimes do decent damage with his 4th ability. doesn't use pillars at all.
I have also found Vauban is a solid control specter, stun-locking with rollers, puncture nading, nuking and pulling in foes with bastille. If I need a point held while I go do something else, pretty good option.
From reading the comments here, I feel like this could have been a multi-video series. Feels like a lot was not talked about. Could probably do like 3-5 minute videos on many different frames when used as specters.
This Mechanic In The Gae Made It Easier For Me To Do Defense Missions And Even Bounties In The Early Game When I Was Struggling To Do Missions On My Own. I was missing on a greel one XD imma try it on my vauban to have a six roler squad lmao
thanks finally a proper specter guide, all the other guide where people showing of, not explaining what they do
I'd love the "best frames & weapons" section in text format.
I’ve only messed around with specters once, because I think it was a requirement for one of the junctions.
Well over 5 years and 3,000 Steam hours later, my specter loadout is still Excalibur w/ Boltor, Aklato, and Skana 😅
@@stoffelthedestroyer3741They seem to be pretty nice for Defense Arbitrations. Just have a person play as Nezha with Safeguard (augment for his 3) and babysit the operative, as well as an Ancient Healer for its DR aura (you could also throw in a Shield Osprey and an Arctic MOA if you want).
Then, the rest of the squad can focus on killing all the enemies, not having to worry about the safety of the operative. It’s pretty boring, but it’s a great way to get Vitus Essence.
Mine is still from my fresh loadout from awakening. Excalibur with Mk1-Paris, Mk1-Kunai, and Skana. I think I need to dump it on the cosmic specter if I can, because I'm way too sentimental about my OG specters to change it.
@@SmoothTurtle840Its even easier to just use a baruuk specter since he can give disarm and damage reduction to your entire team
Ancient healer specters also prevent knockdowns for those without primed sure footed
Crewmate only has to reload once for shotguns where you have to reaload single rounds individually (unlikely intended). Coupled with his infinite ammo pool and god like flickshot aim the felarx makes a great choice.
Something not mentioned here I think is worth noting is that warframe specters while active contribute to the time played on said warframe on your profile, currently one of my most played warframes is nidus due to how much ive used his specter despite almost never actually playing him. So if you want to for some reason heavily boost the time played on a warframe, activate a specter of said frame and also play as them.
Does that also mean the weapons the specter holds also get usage up?
@@abyssalpetrichor1996 Im not too sure on that, i gave it 2 weapons that i tend to use pretty often since theyre battery weapons so not sure if my playtime with those weapons is form my general use or the specter or both. That is something worth trying out though
Wow I never gave these things any thought. Might have to try them out 👍
Dante spectre uses his combos to great effect. Even more reliable than the average Dante player.
You can increase your army with new duplex mod on sentinels/companions with good weapons sentinels will mow through steelpath. Feels really good, I don't think contagious bond works sadly.
yea energy generator dethcube + helstrum + duplex bond means (mostly) infinite energy, given you are killing the enemies
Honorable mention to oberon. He constantly casts his 2 which is CC and proc immunity.
Trinity casts ev a lot.
You also didn't mention what happens if you summon a spectre in nightmare
To be fair, it's a mistake you only make once 😂
@@chanceglacieus6368 Mine had an opticor...lol!
Octavia is a good one too, mostly because the specter uses metronome to provide buffs
As a solo SP Player, I use spectres alot, mostly Trinity, Wisp and Rhino.
It's fantastic how regularly they use their powers.
On call crew do count as specters for the Nightwave mission. So even if they aren't specters lore-wise, I would have counted them too just because the game treats them as such
I'm curious what you know about Incarnon perks on specters? I tested Phenmor pretty extensively a long time ago and found Specters were killing far faster with Devouring Attrition activated than not, but it was harder to tell with other perks. And I've not tested any of the newer Incarnon options at all.
Question on Caliban: did you notice if the the specter's passive work on the squad?
Quorvex Spectre is pretty much immortal in low/mid SP and puts down a lot of radiation procs along with giving you permanent status immunity.
Any other weapons people found good experience with? Leave them here in the comment I'd wanna try them out.
Honestly the syndicate specters aren't bad the Lancer blast can proc cascadia flare (and all specters/companions benefit from flares damage boost) and will usually peel off to distract enemies in survival. Shield ospreys are perfect for keeping defense objectives constantly shielded and Rollers draw far more attention than you might think with thier jump attack hitting/aggroing multiple targets (plus any specter that gives energy is a win in my book). Though my favorite is clearly khal my a mile, his constant uptime paired with the possibility of a osprey deploying corpus spawning in with him makes him extremely versatile. Oh and since the Lancer is grineer and has no shields the osprey will tend to stick with him and randomly fire bursts of inaccurate lasers to attract more enemies, turning the Lancer into a mobile support platform. Given how often non-sentinel pets tend to wander off and die in the back end of the map, I've found most times my pet will run into the tag team fighting a small army in another room and have a much better chance at survival with continuous shield support
Pets no longer die in abyss of dagath
A specter army is like what the meme of the CIA buying titanium from the soviets "good luck, im behind 7 proxies." I personally had a vauban specter that was an awesome support specter that did also get a few kills. I think is had either a kuva khom (the kuva machine-gun shotgun) or a more crowd controling primary, a simi-balanced but crit weighted tombfinger secondary, and the Scindo Prime melee.
What about rhino I find him to be like perfect for being a Spector he uses all four abilities, great crowd control for rhino stomp and Ig rhino charge, becomes almost unkillable with iron skin that scales forever and gives u free 50% universal faction dmg buff to u.
I do also enjoy using a Mag specter because she is constantly casting Magnetize and it’s definitely quite helpful
In full honesty, I only use Specters as meatshields. I find they're far more useful distracting enemies away from defense targets or away from me during survival missions.
I was literally just thinking about what the best spectre load-out would be so I can finally use the blueprints I’ve been saving
I do like using a Valkyr specter. Will occasionally use warcry for the atk speed buff which is nice if I'm not running it and want to melee. Will also occasionally pull enemies to her to kill.
I have always used specters and weirdly enough i use gauss. He may not bring the goods like citrine or styanax(2 of my other specter loadoats) but what he lacks in support he makes up for in fun. He shreds enemies and runs them over till they die 😂
Thanks for a great video another practical problem solved 🎉
I like citrine the best for that health regeneration over time along with all the status effects. Some people like to subsume octavias resonator for crowd control. Me I just throw out a charger specter nearly the same thing and frees up a useless ability for nourish... I mean another helminth ability 😂
My go to is styanax with a probosis cernos for the random grouping and viral. Also, of i rock a frame with nourish, his rally point gets buffed and provides a significant energy regen.
I will definitely be making a hydroid spector now though, and will be using the envoy.
I love to use Nekros with a bunch of spectres for a massive army. I also replace Soul Punch with Nourish, because it buffs your death squad to have the damage output you're looking for (or, at least it did; haven't played in a month or two, so I'm not sure if DE patched it out)
Nourish still OP
As a fellow Nekros with Nourish player, I salute you and want to say that you have great tastes!
I also suggest a whisp specter since she will buff your zombies and if you have an actual wisp with high strength then your shadows will get a high amount of movement speed and it's amazing to look at my zombies having the zoomies, or to think that they are on coke XD
Octavia is a strong specter too. Her roller is good cc and her 3 can give you stealth on any frame. Also her passive gives energy regen I think.
Cosmically are generally not worth the effort but the other warframe spectres are easily replaced so eventually ended up with a protea (unlimited resources), wisp (any boost is a nice boost),vauban in those slots. A few frames refuse to case a load of their abilities but these always being something to the table. Core issue it that with the ammo changes finding a good weapon can be a PITA, battery weapons they bug out and s lot if kitguns have abominably low ammo reserves once an NPC starts firing at max rate continuously.
While the specters do use primary ammo, they seemingly have infinite secondary ammo, i've been using a nidus bramma/akarius specter for the last couple of years and i've never seen him run out of ammo for both (albeit i only use him in long defence/interception so he's constantly having enemies die and potentially drop ammo around him)
On an additional note, the maggots from nidus' specter provide great distractions/cc at any level
The Shield Osprey can save your ass if you, for some reason, left the defense objective alone and it's low on hp
the ancient healer specter should also prevent all status effects in range. I would also highly recommend trinity as a specter since she gives good healing and energy regen
Trinity is nice but she dies way too often to be useful before even going into steel path unless your a support frame and shield her
@@Hyperiumonneeding to run a support frame to keep your support frame spectre alive seems kinda redundant
@@MagikarpMan not always redundant but my point was you gotta invest way more than beeded to have maximum spector uptime, I can have a Gara spector last at least a 1hr no matter what so.....
@@Hyperiumon I never use spectres so idk but I believe u
@@MagikarpMan you don't really need to use spectors and I myself almost never see other people use it in public groups but believe me on god does it help make missions flow so much better with spectors when your team mates don't know what their doing and especially on solo where it makes it so you'd don't necessarily have to be stuck using a specific frame during missions
Awesome vid. Just question which option allows u to highlight the enemies?
It's an accessibility setting in the main settings. Use the search bar for "Highlight" to both turn it on and set the colour
@@TheKengineer Oh thanks found it, and honestly I though its somethin different but now it s so much awesome that I always know where the enemies are. Thanks a lot dude.
Never been quite clear on how specters work. Used them a lot, but was never quite sure how to streamline it and get the most out of them
An important point to note is that Tenno Specters actually share Ammo pickups with you since DE changed them instead of having unlimited ammo (Rip rapidfiring Exergis Specters).
If you are using Ammo-heavy weapons, consider equipping them with Battery weapons such as the Shedu and Tenet Cycron so they dont pickup your Ammo loots.
Also Protea and Wisp Specters are goated for doing solo endurance runs
That is a horrible idea to make them use battery weapons because of a bug that has been a thing since DE made specters use ammo (yes, that long). They will use up the magazine, switch to their secondary, and the game will make you pick up ammo for them even if they don't need it as the game thinks they need ammo. It will then cluster around you constantly clicking every half second and prevent you from using the interact button (x on pc).
@@Darthmufin As I said, only if you run Ammo-heavy weapons with Mutation Mods because your Ammo is so limited anyways and the pickups will be converted as your Ammo which reduce the cluttering effects. I never had this issue since my Kuva Zarr is always empty from shooting
specters don't use mutation mods@@AKmasta3
@@Darthmufin I mean YOU use Mutation Mods and YOU pick up the cluttering Ammo with your Ammo-heavy weapons
The bug can still happen regardless @@AKmasta3
Imagine a squad of 4 Hydroids/other great defense frames all summoning one of each spectre in a defense mission. Sheer chaos and death to the enemy npcs.
test and see :D
Chaos guarantee>>>
Use volt specters for camping setups since he casts shields often, also random speed buffs are nice
Wisp is also a very good option in my option, with as use with being used as a specter. I was able to completely solo 2 hours on a Railjack Fissure Survival with Mesa with Protea's subsume on Mesa's one ability.
I farmed with specters on void armagedon missions for some weapon part, they were nice distraction from defend targets and nice cc. Thanks to them that missions became bearable.
Sevagoth casts gloom which provides a small amount of healing and slight slowing of the enemies
i generally use a Vaubaan spectre a lot of the time because something that has a lot of immobilising crowd control helps with builds needing accurate shots (Like headshot madness with harrow and knell :3)
Do any of the incarnon evolutions or progenitor bonuses carry over to the crafted warframe spectres? Examples: fire rate, punchthrough, range, attack speed, etc.
Im really surprised i didnt hear anything on Inaros' sand shadows. Particularly with Desiccation's augment allowing for litteral indefinite enemy specters.
To be clear i feel like this is a bug but god i hope its a feature.
For clarification ever since they changed Dessication's curse to scale with duration from my own testing it seems that it adds more and more duration the more enemies you finish.
As an example: you have 200% duration. The first shadow will last 30 seconds. The next 60 seconds and the next 90 (iirc) but seemingly after 300 seconds *they just dont die.*
My clan calls the "summon an army" strat the "Pokedex Defence". Cuz when you throw the little balls, it looks like a pokeball. One day, one of us said "Rhino Prime, I choose you!" and threw a spector, and a meme was born inside the clan. But we have been using this strat since Vaubaun (NOT PRIME) was new.
On god gara specter is literally the best, aoe blinds, cast wall and does spectro to distract and also is beefy and is perfect for any defend style mission
I really enjoy Varuna as a specter. Also can work as an ok primer for condition overload. Although now Varuna is now my melee main, so I think I should try citrine as a specter
You forgot the most powerful spectre of all, the DESERT SKATE SPECTRE, obtainable from Baro Ki'teer's Fornightly void beacons! 😂
Iiiiiits about as powerful as youd expect a Desert Skate to be. But hey, its funny to have a friendly sand stingray every now and then, just to confuse the hell out of public squads.
I like nekros specter for it's free extra loot :D
Coming back to this because my connection is trash and Solo Elite Deep Archimedia got hands
You missed one specter: Excaliber Umbra.
(which, if you ever wanted to do a vid about him, I've done some exhaustive testing)
Always worthwhile for missions where you intend to use your necramech (or operator). He uses the same rules as Tenno specters, specifically including subsumed abilities. The most unfortunate thing about him is that his weapon accuracy is straight garbage.
tl:dr use the Vermisplicer primary on Umbra and ALWAYS subsume his 1 for something else.
I don't know if any of the other specter-likes share this trait, but his aim veers off-target by like 30 degrees every half second. It ruins his ability to use single shot and burst type weapons. The timing on his inaccuracy can line up with the fire rate of a weapon and completely remove his ability to hit certain things. As an example, I gave him the Opticor Vandal and took him out on some Fortuna missions. When he locked onto the dropships, 9/10 shots would miss and go harmlessly into the sky. The easiest way to see this is to give him the Tenet Envoy, because he will actually guide the missiles 100% of the time. It's a ton of fun, but also not as useful as you'd hope.
The Vermisplicer primary is the single best gun you can give him (for any enemies within 40m). The Vermi primary's special effect as a beam weapon is that it locks onto enemies (it IS a tentacle), so it completely negates the negatives of Umbra's shaky hands. For longer ranges, it used to be the Basmu, but the recent patch broke it. New best may be the Baza.
If you want to know how a subsumed ability works on him, use the Tenno Specter page on the wiki: warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Specter_(Tenno)
Always subsume his 1, Slash Dash, off of him, no matter what. He is very suicidal, and will routinely slash dash off ledges the moment you pop into operator. He'll also get too far away from you by using it.
Best overall ability: Molt. He uses it often and it keeps him healthier than any other ability (esp because he can't use survivability arcanes or adaptation). Xata's Whisper and Eclipse can both be modded for permanent uptime via duration, and Xata's Whisper helps with his inaccuracy tremendously. (Note: Xata's whisper can prevent him from using some guns. It's inconsistent from patch to patch.) Tesla Nervos with Tesla Bank is surprisingly good. Haven't subsumed any frames past Caliban, so newer abilities may be decent.
umbra also resets ur buffs when transfuring
As of the dante update, dante is by far the best spectre due to his crazy overgaurd abilities
Trinity makes you invincible and perminate energy gain
remember the rail gate wars
My on call crew has an Acceltra. It absolutely rips through anything. I swear he does more damage than I do with the same weapon.
Of course you don't mention that tenno specters now cause the pickup bug to happen because you and the specter both collect ammo for the specter. If for any reason the game thinks they need ammo, it will stick to you and constantly click as it tries to give it to you, preventing you from using actions in the game until they go away.
What's with the snide comment? "Of course"? Grow up, dude.
Maybe because its important information moron before players start using specters then bitching about the ammo bug@@TormentedThree
So its my fault that a 80k sub channel doesn't know about the very common and very obvious bug with specters that causes ammo pickups to stick to the player.
Riiiiiight. @@TormentedThree
@Darthmufin If they don't know then they don't know, what does their sub count have to do with it? They provided a ton of useful information and you pick out one thing they've overlooked, as if you haven't overlooked things yourself (everyone does). And you've done this on several of their videos, how sad is that?
This just comes off as you being bitter that their channel is more successful than yours. Being unnecessarily rude to other content creators in the community isn't going to do any favors for growing your channel, that much is clear.
Because it's important information that someone of his status should know about. You would think he would mention this info so players are not tricked into using specters thinking they won't cause a horrible bug. @@TormentedThree
I like volt for the speed boost I'm surprised he didn't mention it.
My 3 favorite frames to make specters of are: nidus, Dante, and Khora. Nidus is great because of his ult and his tether. I use him and Khora for defense missions. Place em on the objective, make them stay, and it really frees you and your squad up to roam and kill instead of just defending. Plus Khora also has her kavat summon, so it's a 2 for 1 summon. I like Dante purely for his over health and bleed procs. But his roaming owls are also nice. The rest of the specters are just a nice addition to any "at heart conjurers" army.
It says much about a Power fantasy where its less efficient to summon an entire army rather than doing it yourself!
I use them when solo farming. They keep me company.
i think the fire eximus lancer could be mildly useful for the proc. i mainly focus on the shield osprey and ancient healer because they to me have the most utility. good to know about the roller specter energy leeching but i suspect it doesn't work while i'm channeling which i do a lot.
i didn't know how to do the kahl summon, but i'd seen people do it, good to know.
I've known you can't mod the tenno spectres so i just use nidus since he links me sometimes, i play oberon and like to have renewal with 100% uptime and make it as strong as i can, so sometimes when i need a little extra bump in an endless mission he comes in handy. I'll keep the other stuff in mind though
Personally considering you can't mod the weapons for tenno spectres, i'd also consider cc focused things, like the sonicor for example, if you are looking for that.
I use the corrupted lancer on solo relic survivals where I plan to camp in one spot as khora of if I'm running gloom cause the fire wave knockback of course is affected by gloom so it's really good CC. But i agree it's not a great general use specter. It rocks on defense missions tho.
You missed out a decent Warframe for a spectre. Trinity. She gives burst healing and damage reduction because I think she only uses 2 of her abilities, link and blessing.
Surprised you didn't mention wisp specters?
