Hi Gayna, about yesterday's vlog and the fact that your yarn from Kelly didn't arrive when it was supposed to. Here in Canada, if we pay for a service and it doesn't get delivered when promised, we can put in a claim to get a refund. Ask Kelly if that's an option for her to do. Gayna I had a bunch of Noro and Sherrie from Ollie and Bella was making a lot cabin knit blanket I think it’s called. I started it and did the squares bigger it looks great with the Noro. I will send a pic!!
I’m so pleased it’s cold I’m such a misery in summer😂 Jumpers hot water bottle and homemade soup ! I made butternut squash soup with cheese scones , I’m in my happy place 😊 Lovely to have your vlogs thank you x
The film was You’ve Got Mail. Also .. I don’t like Noro either. I love the look of it but I don’t enjoy working with it. I feel like it’s one of those yarns that people believe they like, but they really don’t.
I’ve knit loads of shawls but I don’t have a grey one. So I collected a number of different grey yarns and picked a pattern. And because they’re one colour - but different p I need to have lots of texture. Basically it is basket weave sections divided by yarn over eyelet sections and a small lace flower section. So I’m on the same page as you!. I loved knitting my Nightshift shawl so much so I immediately cast on the Shift cowl. I wear the cowl much more than the shawl so I’ve frogged the shawl and now I have a ton of Malabrigo Rios! Win win! No point pushing yourself to knit something you aren’t enjoying. And the yarn-obviously-is a large part of the enjoyment. Love your hat -just not for wearing! 😂😂😂
I think your new hat looks very cosy and perfect for dog walking! Glad you did the polyfilla on the door frame as it will soon be done and it’s a job ticked off the list! Take care love WW xx

I have a very similar Bernina! Mine is a 1005 which my parents gave me for my 21st birthday. I love it so much. I have two Janomes but the Bernina is still better for so many reasons.

I’m really looking forward to the retreat though I haven’t knit up last years yarn yet. I have some nice photos from my recent trip to Macedonia so I think one of them will be my inspiration for this years yarn. It’s very cold here too 4c when I went for my walk this morning so my winter woollens are starting to emerge and I’m planning some new cast ons

Totally agree re Noro yarn. I have tried and tried and just do not like the yarn. To me it seems over processed and "lifeless" compared to wool that is "closer to the sheep." Giving mine away too - there are folks who really like it. But I think it's the colors that they like...

An MOT is a Ministry Of Transport test that is an annual check that ensures that your vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards. Mine failed because a part of the suspension had worn down past legal levels. It was still safe but in its way to being a problem. All sorted now ☺️
It must be a bad knitting weekend! I cast on a new sweater yesterday and today I did the set up round and 11 rows of short rows. THEN I discovered that at some point I had twisted it. 😱. I thought "bugger it" and where there were only 2 rounds in the front I untwisted it. Arne & Carlos have said that you can do that so I did! I'll remedy the weird bump when I pick up for the neckband. Would you mind saying what yarn you used for Toby’s sweater? It’s beautiful!

I've also tried Noro. While I loved the look of it in the ball, it knitted up not to my taste.

I think the Noro would look better in just plain stockinette stitch. It is too busy for texture stitches? Just my thought
You’re probably right but I don’t like the feel of the wool. It’s sort of dry. I can’t explain it, it kind of mats up and feels funny. 🤪
I made the Nightshift shawl after last Christmas finished it in March but it was too warm to use it so looking forward to wearing it this winter.
