The kohlrabi: in Germany we cook it as a side dish with potatoes and meat. You take 2 or 3 kohlrabi, cut it into slices, boil them in salted water, then you take a pan, put some oil in it, then stir a spoonful of flour over it and when it is brown you gradually add the water from boiling the kohlrabi until you have a nice smooth sauce, season with salt and pepper and pour that over the kohlrabi, decorate with parsley and you're done. That was a very popular, cheap food after the war. I love this vegetable, I even like to eat it raw.
I can eat it raw as well. It's great finely shredded in salads.
I have volcano from my Farm share I'm going to try this!
Arrgghhh kolrabi
Josie, its the best not walking on your foot for 2 till 4 weeks on a broken Metatarsal.
And its normal to still have mild swelling and discomfort. ice and rest is the best medicine.
Normally it takes 6weeks or more to completely is healed.
Take care dear, good luck😍💖
Josie I have an ice cube tray in the freezer and each individual cube holds excess tomato puree, chopped chillies, coconut milk and any other small quantities of things you don't really want to waste. Just a thought!
This is so genious I just forget to do it. I froze coffee in an ice cube tray a while ago but forgot to use it.
I can’t believe how lush and full the border garden has gotten in just few months. So pretty ❤❤
Hi Josie, sorry to hear about your foot. I would see a podiatrist and get an X-ray and MRI. I dropped a bar of soap on the top of my foot a few years ago. Luckily nothing was broken but it did take months to heal. Lots of ice, rest, and supportive shoes. Hope it gets better soon! ❤️🩹
Definitely go to a doctor - I fractured the 3rd metatarsal and had a boot to help manage recovery but didn't wear it all the time and it healed wonky
I agree. Why haven't you seen a doctor? Who strapped your foot up? Sometimes we can do more damage with the wrong bandage
If it is a metatarsal fracture, I'd definitely advise medical evaluation. As these bones aren't teeny weeny, it may be a phalanx fracture, these are generally treated very conservatively (no strapping, just sensible footwear). An MRI is probably overkill, most fractures will show up on x-ray.
Autumn?!?! We have three more months of summer!!!
We’ve only had 3 days of it so far 😢😢 I’m in no mood for autumn until October 😅
Yes indeed.. No need to rush the time... Let's enjoy SUMMER
Our summer started about 3 days ago. Bloody hell.
@@loafollower9590 - You must be from Vancouver, like me?
That’s what I thought! Hello!
Wow that went so quickly, I was really enjoying this vlog.
We haven’t seen or heard anything about La La for a while, I do hope she’s okay.
Thank you as always Josie for sharing with us xx
Def go get your foot checked. You won’t want to hear this but you really shouldn’t be doing Pilates or any workouts etc w an injury like that. I was told by my physio I could only go for short walks in v supportive trainers when I broke my toe. You could be causing more damage that you’ll regret down the road. The metatarsal bones take ages to heal and may require surgery. It’s so impt you get your foot xrayed.
I've never been disappointed with a H Q D U P S handbag. The leather is buttery soft, the hardware is durable, and the design is timeless.♥
Oh no Autumn 🍂 too soon. It's 96 degrees in NYC
It’s like Autumn in Oxfordshire
It's autamn weather in Cardiff
I LOVE the closing music and drone work! Well done!
Me too the music at the end is divine... Does anyone know what this piece of music is called please
I broke my 5th metatarsal so the outside bone of my foot. I had to have surgery to put in a plate and screws. The Dr told me that the metatarsals take the longest to heal. Be really careful with it and allow it to heal.
Yeah, metatarsals aren't teeny weeny, but are the longest bones in the foot (they connect to the toes and make up most of the flatter part of the foot) - I suspect it's a phalanx that's broken, as these don't need treatment (unless we're talking about dislocations). Metatarsal fractures sometimes require a cast of dome sort, and fractures of the 5th metatarsal can be problematic as the blood supply is less than the other metatarsals.
The beetroot risotto looks absolutely divine!💜 🥣Perfect summer lunch with all the yummy toppings! And as always a treat - your lovely garden! 🌸💕 Thank you!💐
Josie A Lovely Sunday Vlog, Thank you So Much Fun, The Pressed Flowers Have Turned Out a Treat, Love The HM Dresses, Have a Lovely Week. Xx 😊😘
Hello Josie you should try to cook your beet in the oven with olive oil over them , wrap in foil for 60 minutes at 400 F . And after when cold you peel them...... much much more flavour
Autumn? It certainly feels like it here atm Josie 🤦♀️😆
Thank you Josie for yet another magical vlog. Hoping your foot heals quickly.
Loved the homeware segment ❤❤
Lovely garden. Do take care of your foot. It takes longer to heal if you wear heels. Please consult a specialist to check how it's healing. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Pleas do not listen to any negative comments. Just keep making the videos just as you want them made💕
Wicker homeware pieces 😍 so so nice!
I agree!!😊😍
Josie, everytime you send the drone up, I am so moved by the beauty of the nature around you 😍🌳🌳 It is wonderful ! And I agree that the grasses pressed look exceptionally beautiful. My compliment for you, you're getting better and better in flower pressing! I love your results! 🍀☘🌿
I'm in the Mediterranean and the usual summer heat isn't here yet. How come are you already talking about autumn? 😅
Josie is referring to seed growing for autumn vegetables which has to be done now.
Happy sunday josie love your vlogs ❤🎉😊😊 xx
Autumn lol been watching Christmas ones, love it ❤
Take care with your foot xxx
Don’t hassle Josie about her phone. This is her job.
Good morning Josie! Love your jasmine … jasmine does have a heavenly scent!
Oh, your gardens are looking gorgeous and rambling, such a variety! I loved the Cotswolds when we were in England. We appreciate the sunny days when we have the clouds ⛅️!
It’s been high 90’s here in SW Missouri USA so I cannot think about Autumn just yet! So lovely your vlogs and your personality with narration. I discovered your channel over a year ago and enjoy it all . Very uplifting. I want to find a Pilates class after watching your classes. I am always tickled when you talk about “wild swimming” whereas we call it swimming in the creek, lake, pond or rivers…
😀 Any time you can go to an Andre Boccelli concert is a wonderful event !
I have really enjoyed all your Summer dress choices and style this year with purses and jewelry…very crisp & stylish without being too much or out of place.❤I really love your current hair color - the highlights are beautiful yet look natural so don’t change it yet!!💕 Little Dex surely has the life!! Looking cute on “his”outdoor patio sofa!💟
Love & Blessings from America! 🇺🇸 Pamela
Gosh you are so lucky for 3 more holidays after Ibiza last month. Here is Australia it takes ages to go anywhere. I'm lucky if I can go aboard every couple of years. The influencer life is so different to the average person
Hugs to you dear Josie. The skies looked torquoise
Happy Sunday my dear Josie...you've done it once again;very relaxing vlog!! I'm seriously trying to replicate your awesome healthy breakfast sandwich;but I'm nowhere close....I mean, look at the one you made,in this vlog;it's not only healthy:it's a beautiful work of art...you're truly something, all my love Josie!!🏡🌴🎄👗🌦💕💕
Beautiful content yes terrible weather love your vlogs they keep me upbeat xxxx
Those rattan cans stands are beautiful hun - but bugs, ants, flies etc are going to get into them easily as the homes are huge - they do look pretty though
One needs to use those fine mesh covers to prevent insects from going into the food.
You look so, so beautiful with this pink pleated dress! Makes you so luminous! The fabric, the colour, the design its so ❤"Josie style"!❤
the yellow H &M dress looked lovely with your tan. The gardens are wonderful. I fractured across the top of my foot, three bones when i fell down some badly made stairs, trying to save my new born in my arms. X ray showed the break. It took nearly a year to heal. I re injured it twice. Once digging in hard clay soil and at work. The last time took three years to heal as the tendons in my foot became very sore after walking. Massage and stretching exercises and shoes with a comfort foot bed helped. And magnesium spray on the sole of my foot. MSM is also good for rebuilding tissue.
Awww!!! I LOOOOOOVE 💞💞💞 YOUR GARDEN SESSIONS 🌷🌷🌷
Wonderful healthy breakfast.
Your flower pressing is really doing well.
Pasta looks delicious.
The white H&M dress is lovely on you.
Thank you for sharing ❤
LOVE YOUR CONTENT AS ALWAYS LOVED THE YELLOW DRESS IT LOOK BEAUTIFUL ON YOU BUT THEY ALL WERE GREAT HOPE CHARLIE IS WELL HAVENT SEEN HIM IN A WHILE GARDEN LOOKING AMAZING TOO
We're having a rainy day over here in the mountains of NC. It feels rather autumnal actually. We had a month of no rain and now it's raining every day.
Interesting breakfast you always have, a traditional breakfast is the best and very good for you, really.
Josie, your yard in summer is magical!! Sending love from SC, USA.
I remember that my mother used to powder the support with some baby powder or arrowroot or corn flour, it dries more quickly and do not stick at all
I loved your dresses particularly the two white dresses and lemon dress and that hat. A lovely vlog once again thank you x
Love that Angel's fishing rod blowing in the wind, very pretty. ❤
Been following you for many years but had a little break from watching last year/months, had to be on a non spending spree for a while, being back here is like meeting an old friend again. Your videos are so nice and positive Josie❤ glad to be back. Although I can never buy or own all the stuff you do with the opportunities that comes with, theres always inspiration for little things anyone can do. Also H&M is easier to afford 😉 so thanks. Will be looking back for some neutrition videos inspo, as I remember you talked about it a while ago.
I do find it sad with people in general these days, who cannot be parted from their phones for even a small window of time....like when gardening. I see people and it seems as though the phone has become a third hand or something. Try it Josie, leave the phone in the house, be "present" with your garden. If a plant needs photographing you can always go back in for it:).
I totally agree. When we do Forest bathing or going barefoot in the grass the whole point of it is to detach ourselves from the electronic devices and Wi-Fi energy.🏡🇨🇦
I completely agree. Whenever we go swimming in our pool or out in the yard we keep our phones in the house. A little detachment is better for our wellbeing’s. Plus it makes for being far more present in general. No phones are allowed at meal times either.
@jennifer6833 Love this ! Nothing worse than someone who won't put their phone away during dinner...especially when you're eating out and everyone seems fixated on taking photos of their food for Instagram
Point is solid but to a vlogger? 😂
This is literally her job lol.
Beetroot risotto is one of my favourite recipes to cook and in mine I add goats cheese for tang, so there is no need for lemon. The chicken bone broth pasta looked delicious!
Josie! I wanna try that breakfast you were holding! It looks so tasty!!!
Pea micro greens have become my absolute favorite! I have a Tory Burch and Quince phone carrying crossbody. Love them both.
I love the ending of the vlog❤
Cross body peg bags are great to 😮😊 I just purchased one from B& M .. £3.50 !!!!! Such a great invention xxxx 😊❤ lovely video as always , thank you for sharing.. Godbless & best wishes.. And happy Sunday xxx❤
Can sympathise I broke my right arm falling backwards in my poly tunnel 🌻 bone broth the best thing for a break to heal 🐝 great Vlog take care or take more water with it 😹
Ah yikes!!! But good shout RE bone broth!
Beautiful Drone Footage the views are Incredible 🫶 wicker homeware pieces are so pretty 😍.
Have a Good week 🥰
Che spettacolo la tua casa dall’alto ❤❤❤
Beautiful garden happy for you
Love the vlog the garden is looking wonderful 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Ice and put the foot up and you must rest it .,if you go to A& E they will give you and moon boot to wear when and if you have to walk. I broke 4 metatarsal and took 10weeks to mend ,and that was it being up and physiotherapist for two weeks good look .x
i love watching your mornings. what does charlie do in the mornings??
He also does a workout every morning and then starts work!!
@@JosieIrons, it’d be a fun vlog to see a day in the life of you and Charlie as you actually are living it with the day to day routines during a weekday.
I hope you frame some of those beautifully pressed flowers for Christmas presents.
@@letitiahansford307 between two pieces of glass so you can see both sides. Beautiful art!
You must put zero weight on a fracture to allow it to heal. You’ll need a boot cast. 6 weeks-very not fun!
And a doctors appointment to get an X-ray.
The garden still looks beautiful--especially the lavenders. Dead heading roses is relaxing for me :). Wish I could grow veggies! Love the wicker serve wares & yellow dress on you!!! Hope your foot will be better soon!
I did the same exact thing with my foot. I didn’t realize it was broken for a few weeks and just dealt with the pain. It definitely felt worse after 2 or 3 weeks. Then I started to keep it up more and it started getting better. It took a full 6 weeks to get mostly better.
Ah wow that’s really interesting, I wonder why the 2/3 week pause before the pain 😢
I was thinking it was because I didn’t rest it at all. I still walked in sandals with block heels. Once I had an x ray and knew it was broken I rested it more. Good luck!
Love your honesty. Xx You are in my book.
Josie, keep the green dress, it looks so lovely on you!!!❤️🌺🌼
Lovely vlog 💘
Oh forgot to recommend Higgedly seeds, from a very small producer there in England. Lovely chap, has a cute blog.
Yay! The drone!
Josie you should take a look at the next pretty blouses this year and in sale flowers 🌺 you will love them xx love this vlog so relaxing 😎, that’s my favourite one the last green one 👌
Josie you are fantastic...❤❤❤❤
Josie, I wonder if your Barefoot shoes are the cause of your fractured foot bone? I can't wear shoes that don't offer enough support. I've also fractured that foot bone with impact in sports and I have to ensure I wear sports shoes with stability to prevent that from happening again.
They're definitely the wrong shoes for a foot that has a fracture. ❤
Dehydrate herbs in air fryer . It works x
Radishes taste like potatoes in a stew and can make thin flavoured chips in air fryer . So yum xxx
I was also thinking about autumn 😝
Dear Josie tank you for sharing so wonderful moments❤ p.s. brows look very natural, beautiful
I think the pink dress looks really good on you. The neckline is flattering and you can add a belt to cinch it in. I also like the green/white dress on you more than the 2 white ones.
Love the green wrap dress
Excellent content thanks. Xxx
Lovely video too watch thanks for sharing 🥰👍
Charlee which is your best pan ???❤
Hi Josie, I hope this is helpful as you've helped me over the years and I've never commented. I had a metatarsal injury on one foot and planter fasciitis on the other (spelling may be way off). The podiatrist recommended rest so cycling etc for exercise, limited walking, not walking on sand and two shoe brands. I already had the Hoka Bondi's but never thought I would wear Birkenstocks. The Birkenstock Arizona are brilliant. I will never be without them again. I did take some time to heal because I wouldn't stay off my feet so more rest would have been better. Also be very careful around small pathway stones. I found stepping on one a few months back re-injured my metatarsal. Hope you are healed soon
Oh wow that’s so interesting thank you!
M'am, the issue with your try on hauls is that I'll gush and gasp over the fits on you yet if I was to get them, I'd look dreadful. Lol. Goodness :D
Yellow or lemon is amazing on you ❤
maybe your foot needs a little break from doing workouts to heal properly❤ Your garden looks dreamy!🌻🌸
Autumn?????
u plant seeds in summer to have fruit and vegetables available for autumn
See the doctor about your foot! There are so many things other than a break that could be a miss! I have had bursitis in my foot since January……lots of discomfort.
Beautiful drone shots
Hi josie, I was watching your trip to thyme the other day and I’m sure you were talking to my nephew who is a gardener there about the sheep wool, it’s a small world isn’t it ? Love your vlogs by the way, they are always full of interesting content x
When did I miss your change off hair colour looks lovely ashy gray x
The last part of d video was so so refreshing.you hv to pluck flowers before 10 am.fr pressing thm.your Missing the roots of the small plants.these hv to b pressed to and thy look very perfect,wn dried.l hv done lupins ,lets see hw thy dry.
Excellent H & M haul! Shame about those 2 dresses but if it doesn’t suit you then send it back. Josie have you got advice about what to do about your foot? Xxx
I believe the “radishes” are actually chiogga beets shaved on a mandolin.
Kohlrabi used to be my favorite vegetable (grandma's recipe).
I'm actually looking forward to fall - these hot +30 degrees summer days don't feel the same they used to... 🥵🙈
Comfrey (bone knitter) ointment for your foot 👌
I love it when you send the drone up & the accompanying music🩷 what colour is your nailvarnish please ?🩷
It’s usually Bubble Bath by OPI or similar!
Bone broth pasta sounds yum n good for my knee injury 😅
Maybe don't self-diagnose and treat a foot injury, you may end up with long-term damage and longer lasting pain than you need to.
Hope your foot is better maybe try Martin and Pleasance arnica cream. The pasta dishes sound good. Maybe a cookbook is on order of all these great recipes you have tweaked by you and Charlie ;) great flower press look forward to seeing the enormous print you do with that. The hat looks great :) I agree with you on the dress styles and change of design. The shirt dress was the favourite as I like the style of the yellow but I don't look good as you do in that colour. I actually like also the green one too for the fact it is a wrap dress. Have you ever done pickling of beets and daikon worth a try :)
Why do I always get the feeling that there's a whole lot more house than we've been shown whenever Josie shows the drone shots?
Hi .any tips for the angels fishing rod .i bought a small plant about 4 years ago .its in mostly gravel bed ..thickerning up .but no flowers .i was told it has to be 4 years and over to flower .mine should be pink ..thank u for shareing ❤
I use leggings pocket for the phone, I won’t buy a legging without one. Otherwise, I have a bag of some sort. We’re 3 weeks into our 90-100 temps, can’t wait for fall! When you advertize things eg wicker thingies, would be better if we see you using them regularly instead pf a sudden show of wicker 😯 also would love info on how you attach jasmine to your house 🙌🏻
Happy day. 100 here today!
West Coast 🇺🇸...100's here too! 😳
90’s here in New Hampshire! 🇺🇸
