I'm a former nurse & a few yrs ago, I came up on a head-on collision. The police/ Fire & EMS hadn't arrived on scene yet. So at that time I started rendering aid to the victims which was 6 of them in total in the two vehicles. When fire arrived on scene, I told the Lt the conditions of the victims & the injuries of them so that the info can be relayed to EMS. I also advised that Medivac needs to be sent to the scene also for the one critical patient I was rendering aid to. This patient had multiple broken ribs, broken femor, head trauma with possible spinal injuries. NONE of the occupant's in the two vehicles were wearing seatbelts at that time. After EMS arrived & they came to where I was at with the patient, I relayed this patients injuries & then I backed off & let EMS take over. But stood by Incase the Paramedic needed additional help till Medivac arrived on scene. So working a scene of a head-on collision is very hectic especially if you have multiple victim's. At the same time I also advised the State Trooper how many victim's & they're injuries so he could add the info into his accident report. I ended up spending over two hours on-scene by the time it was all cleared up at that time After that,
I am a state licensed EMT and been first on scene at quite a few car accidents, when my local fire appear on scene I have said to them I am an EMT and try to give them a report they are not interested and I have even been told get lost

A lot of them was actually family since they lived in the area. The others were property owners at the scene. I am not crowd control, I have more to worry about and that is the Police Departments job. I don't have time to move people at every scene.
Well, fat boy ems in blue just slowly walks like it not an emergency, #1 he needs better training and lose some weight, if it was his family member bet he move faster, common sense man, look at video he just slowly walks for neck brace and very slowly walks back, a typical paycheck guy letting his female partner do all the work , he lazy as hell
I'm amazed at how slow those medics were. I would have had an IV going, oxygen on, and a set of vitals on that guy before he was ever out of the car. When I was a medic we would have been raked over the coals for being on scene that long with a trauma patient.
@1:26 I literally did a double take, and turned off the video to check if my radio was going off. That is a dispatch from Monroe County Central Dispatch (Bloomington, IN) for IU Health Medic 206 and Ellettsville Fire Squad 8. I've been watching your videos for years and wouldn't expect traffic from Indiana, particularly from my dispatch channel, to be picked up so clear in Kentucky.
I live in a very small town,,maybe 300 people..But our fire dept.,1st responders..EMT/paramedics and sheriff dept.have their shit together..When they get a call they have everything they need when they show up on site..Why doesn`t this town?
What camera are you using here? Really not bad, sound quality is excellent. I like it if it says in the description what cameras are used. Thanks & keep it up.
what an unfortunate thing to happen and I hope everyone involved was ok but dude you need headphone warning that radio and whatever that other noise was nearly blew my eardrum apart. Again hope everyone was ok and had a speedy recovery at that time Cheers
I don't like these extraction videos where you don't see the end result. It's either closure, knowing the victim got out... or a pacifying way to feel better about actually watching these types of things. This is coming from a guy who absolutely does not subscribe to Russian car accident compilations. I am forever amazed at these heroes!
What the hell is the use of sending out one bloody fireman - is it to check that there has actually been an accident before they dispatch a fire and rescue unit.
I hope that all of those people just standing around ore witnesses…..not just nosey looky loos! Let’s all just stand around and watch. 🙄🙄 The law enforcement, fire and rescue have a job to do and I so appreciate everything that they do. My oldest has been a volunteer firefighter since the age of 17, he’s almost 41. Almost 24 years of his life dedicated to something he loves, with little appreciation and no pay. I pray everyone involved in this accident came out ok.
I no the feeling about being under appreciated!! I’ve got 22 yrs in the fire/medical service saved nervous lives, I volunteer my time, use my own fuel, don’t get me wrong I love this job but just one day I’d like to be recognized for my doings…
Oh good grief. You know what, it ISN'T ILLEGAL to stand around and watch, and they can't MAKE you leave, you have to back up, maybe so long as you are not in the crime scene area. THE SUPREME COURT HAS BEEN VERY CLEAR ON THIS......... PUBLIC IS PUBLIC, AND NO ONE IN PUBLIC CAN TAKE AWAY YOUR CONSITIONAL RIGHT TO BE IN PUBLIC
I have noticed emergency vehicles stop not regarding other’s needs. This training is required. EMS stoped and blocked the road! Let traffic move slowly with some consideration . I do understand official requirements. Hope some training is added
tdluvs It usually means the person on the other side is deceased out of respect and privacy and especially if a family member would happen to get there. They dont want anyone to see that. And unfortunately so no whackos come on scene and try to take videos or pictures.
Some of those people need to grab a drink and pull up a chair. If they are not a witness or genuinely helping; then they are nothing more than human maggots. Disgusting.
Well where I live it takes a while since I live in a rural area (Out in the country) As you can tell its probly the same reason here. Hope I helped! :D
You can instantly tell this is a volunteer community. First its obviously in the rural countryside, secondly the battalion chief / fire chief arrives before anyone else and starts dispatching apparatuses. This means he's telling dispatch to page the volunteers to the station. Those volunteers have to leave work/home and drive to the station, change and then drive to the scene. Living in the country is cheaper for a reason and emergency service response times are somethings you give up. They'll get there, but its gonna take a little while longer.

One of the things that always get's me in these videos is 90% of the comments come from arm chair generals, who like too critique one thing or another, response time, gear used, someones actions taken by people during the response, actions taken on arrival to the scene etc are based on " I think I know things, durr " perspectives. 2 things, One; Before you comment ask yourself this, why am I about to post a comment on a video telling someone they're doing a shit job, because I'll tell you now, they're most likely not gonna listen and Two; What do I know about the situation?
It’s who like ‘to’ critique, not ‘too’ critique! My critique is, why does the video stop before it was over, what happened to the victims? What’s the point of the video if there is no conclusion?
This is the internet and everyone critiques everything. “Stick and Stones”. I’m even sure someone out there will try and tie Trump into this somehow. Lighten up.
How do you figure? It gives the responders more detailed information then just MVA. What if there were three vehicles involved? Or one car and a bicycle? You obviously don't do a job where dispatch information is important
They need to get in there immediately and start extracting the people out,not stand there and view the damage. The person could be bleeding to death. When I was a volunteer that's what they taught us. Don't cause anymore injuries but get them out Fast.
This is driving me crazy! Why are all the people who aren’t with rescue, police, etc just all up there in it? I just want to jump in this video and tell them to get the heck out of there! Go home! Gosh, it’s just nuts! Or am I missing something? If I am, in all sincerity, someone please tell me.
