I think Customizable Player Models is a solid mod, but you should try out the newer figura mod. It has waaaay more customisation and you can use blockbench moldes + code in lua
This. The primary misconception that people usually have with Figura is that you're required to do advanced Lua scripting, which is not at all the case since there's an option in the mod itself to generate a base model with everything required to get it initially functioning. The only real requirement is basic Blockbench knowledge, which is relatively easy to pick up.
A friend of mine introduced me to figura and I am yet to figure it out. I used blockbench to make my cpm stuff, and I've heard figura is supposed to work with blockbench too, but I still don't really understand figura at all lol
@SnowFleiqs you can use both at the same time thanks to them functioning primarily on client side. Rn I'm using both, CPM for myself and Figura for my friend.
Really good tutorial, straight to the point and not longer of a video than it needs to. In just 7 minutes I've gone from not knowing how to use it at all to knowing every feature i need to know of to get started!
Hi little tip for the tail: If you really want it to play in **every** animation you can make it a "Pose: Global" those moves then apply to all others. (there might be conflicts sometime but I recomend trying it)
Choose your flavour! (More custom playermodel mods) - Customizable Player Models (CurseForge and Modrinth) - Figura (CurseForge and Modrinth) - Yes Steve Model (Modrinth)
i used to use yes steve model, but then i found out the vaule slider from CPM but i cant make animations on blockbench! i hope figura can achive something similar, im going to look into it.
This was really helpful, I always edit my models with the blockbench cpm plugin, I might give the actual cpm model editor a try now, specially for animating models ^w^
I absolutely love the mod! been useing it for a good while now. except I never really figured out animations in it, I have come to prefer blockbench a lot more to make the models, like the tail of my model has a lot of parts and to animate it and not have parts shifting weird is really hard.
if that is you teaching bad.. i think you will become the best teacher at the entire universe if you will teach better becouse that was just so good and you let us learn all that stuff in 7 minutes, someone else would teach all the same stuff in 1 hour becouse it is a bit familiar to blender. thank you a lot :)

A pesar de que tuve que verme todo el video con subtítulos ¡es un gran tutorial! Entendi a la perfección y aunque no sepa nada de modelado y esas herramientas, me interesa mucho y con este mod quisas pueda practicar ¡gracias por el tuto!
Here’s some other things you can do with this mod You can create custom armor models to suit your model (changing texture will change it for all armor pieces so won’t show diamond/iron/gold armor and I don’t think it works with trims) You can set some different scale settings (Requires Pehkui mod) to make your model bigger/smaller and also change hitbox size to fit the model
The camera movement looks sick! What's the mod name? Also, great tutorial, I've never seen someone explaining that well (at least related to the mod) :33
Watching this, all I could think was - could you maybe do something a lot more drastic like, say, entirely redux your model? I'm talking delete/make invisible the original parts and create new ones from scratch. Very interesting. I might need to try this.
This seems perfect as my character canonically has eyes that don't darken in shadow which causes the appearance of glowing... But I have a feeling this isn't for Bedrock...

Hello Bro? it's very good video and I was passively looking for such ways for myself, so thank you. I have read your work and I am delighted, and also respect for good speech and English I have one question, do you really live in Finland?
this might just be me being utterly blind and/or tech incompetent, but is there a way to delete models i've exported from the selection menu? i cant figure it out and there's basically no other recent tutorials around
Doesn't work for me, as soon as I import the skin, the body is already set to 128 Width and 128 Height, and I'm unable to change it even with Custom Grid Size.
Just asking Is it possible to create flat parts? Like for example i wanna make a magic circle that moves arround the player Will the circle have to be 1 pixel in size or i can change the Y size of it to 0
Tried over and over again for 2 hours. Every time I export, set vanilla skin, export as, export and upload or just export, set the mcproject file name, copy the code, shove it into a gist, create the gist, copy the link, put the link into the box, and hit “ok” and change my skin to the new one. It never EVER worked not a single time for like 2 hours of trying to figure out why. no clue what I’m doing wrong but it’s so unbelievably infuriating
