Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel - Death trip (Live in Birmingham)[2013]

Birmingham (Live with Orchestra & Choir) is a live album by Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, featuring the Orchestra of the Swan and Chamber Choir. It was recorded live at the Birmingham Symphony Hall on 24 November 2012, and was released on both CD and DVD in 2013. A DVD version of the performance was also released at the same time.
Their first single, "Sebastian", was an immediate success in Europe, although it failed to score in the UK Singles Chart. Their debut album, The Human Menagerie, was released in 1973. Although the album was not a commercial success, the band attracted a growing following in London.
For many years, Steve Harley had considered performing the first two Cockney Rebel albums - 1973's The Human Menagerie and 1974's The Psychomodo - in their entirety, with an orchestra and choir. In 2011, he began planning the one-off concert, and had originally considered the Cadogan Hall or Royal Festival Hall in London for the performance.

I followed Steve since 1973 and bought my first LP The Human Manegerie, still a much played LP, attended all his performances in the Netherlands, last time was 2022. He leaves behind many jewels of which "Death trip" is the most beautiful.. ..Steve RIP.

Now you think you're in a performance of classical music. Not true. This little man in the middle is called Steve Harley and used to be the boss of the rock group "Cockney Rebel".
Ok, he (Harley) or they (Cockney Rebel) had a penchant for the theatrical (Anyone remember "Sebastian"?) and I love that!!!!!!!!!
Oh so....Harley, that little man in the middle wrote that.

Εκτιμώ πολύ το ότι μένει πιστός στην αρχική ηχογράφηση και δεν αυτοσχεδιάζει- πειραματίζεται-ρισκάρει, ενεργώντας σαν ίσος μεταξύ ίσων, με αυστηρότητα και συνέπεια και όχι σαν μεγάλος δημιουργός που αναμφίβολα είναι και ο οποίος θα μπορούσε να [[ξεφύγει]] διαχωρίζοντας το ρόλο του από το σύνολο και υπογραμμίζοντας την ηγετική του θέση. Σπουδαία μορφή σε συνεργασία βέβαια με τους υπόλοιπους ταλαντούχους μουσικούς του group, κατέχει εξέχουσα θέση στην ΄μάλλον πιο σημαντική δεκαετία για τα μουσικά πράγματα, αυτή των ΄70s.
