Excellent video! Thank you. Regarding the blinking 4WD light, I had the exact same problem on my 2003 Tacoma v6. It ended up being the actuator rod was stuck and it needed to be lubed by pulling off the plastic actuator and adding grease. Also check a vacuum hose that connects to the actuator for being off the actuator or the hose being cracked. Once I did that 6 years ago, I have never had a problem with the 4WD system. The owner needs to put the truck into 4WD once in a while to avoid these problems from happening.
That bearing was toast. I felt one that had just begun to dry out inside when I changed my serpentine belt, since, although it wasn't very worn, it drives everything. So I wanted a new OEM belt on the vehicle. I took the pulley off, set it flat, and put some motor oil on it. After turning it as it sat flat, I could feel the oil working its way inside the bearing. After a few minutes, I dried off the excess oil & put it back on the old 2000 Expedition. That was about 5,000 miles ago. I bought a new one which I will install someday. That motor oil won't stay in there forever.
In my dads garage when i was very young we had a long screwdriver, i have a stethoscope like yours, someone told me once to try removing the belt and momentarily run without it to check the engine. Good video, thanks for sharing.

I have read that they do have a tendency to stop working... my rig has the green clock and 27 years it still works BUT i have noticed on occasion that the right-hand digit appears to be fading on the edges?
Wow, What a Coincidence Peter, I just had to get a Tensioner Pulley Replaced on my 2001 Tundra 4.7 earlier today for the Same Noise (but not as loud as the one in your video) I also had my idler pulley and Surpentine Belt Replaced to, for Preventative Maintenance, , , ,
if it were this "Fan Bracket Bearing" that was on the edge of failing, how exactly would that sound? i have seen some nasty pictures of it after failure and the potential $1000s of damages done inside the engine compartment... when does it fail what obscure noises will it make to alert you?
I could use any help here I have a 2001 Toyota tundra 3.4 rear wheel drive and my clutch squeaks and creaks where should I start vehicle has 85000 miles on it

Once you lifted the truck I immediately thought idler pulley or belt tensioner. Good for another 230k miles. I love Toyota.
