Pressing a button to start up the engine and a complete removal of the last analog dial on. 2 has greatly reduced 911 sport car spirit despite the car has gone through a facelift upgrade! Keeping my 992.1 C2S

I feel like a jerk to admit it: but as a '24 (.1) T owner…I'm actually really happy the .2 (and later) are without the awesome analog tachometer and turn-key start. In love with my 7 speed manual in these California canyons.
Same. SO glad I ordered a '24 T 7M over a year ago and picked up in April. I really dislike the digital tach. On the flip side, I do like the cleaner front end of the .2
I have a 991.1 Carrera 4S that I will never sell ever I love when I fire it up I love the sound of the engine the induction the rev climbs. There’s just nothing like it actually putting the key into the hole and turning it on the left side. This is what Porsche is all about completely taking that away, I have a BMW5 series G3 when I’m gonna get into that kind of car I drive that, they’re taking what makes Porsche unique and blending it in with the rest of the herd
Nice video. Simple and informative. I’m surprised I prefer the front of the .1 cos I liked the final reveal of the .2. I prefer the .1 lights and grill.
Concerning the body the the 2024 looks more " 911 " than the 2025 ..... Nice video . Selling Porsche seems to be your passion not just a job. Well done !!!
The first thing I noticed was the smooth refinement of the engine in .2 which also seems to rev quicker. Its also nice to see gear and speed indicators stacked again!
Placebo effect as they share the same engine with the only differences being the .1 GTS turbos (2) and .1 Turbo intercooler on the .2 base engine for a 9 hp gain (388 vs 379 on the.1) and the torque remains unchanged at 331.
I just took delivery of my 992.1 Carrera S about 3 weeks ago. My dealer calls it the Unicorn as it is probably the last manual transmission delivered here in the US. I probably added more options than most people want or need. But I am absolutely in love with the car. The sound is amazing as is the analog tach. All due respect to those of you who like the PDK, but I would not drive a sports car with an automatic transmission. It’s like dating your cousin. It’s just wrong.

I prefer the analog dash on my 991.2. And my sports exhaust has more crackle... The alcantara steering wheel on my 2018, is not too hard to keep clean with a brush and some detailing products - looks new every time I clean it. Otherwise, the 992 is a very nice car, but not worth it for me to upgrade.
Nice video, thanks. Unfortunately, 992.1 prices are still unnecessarily high. I suppose the supply/demand curve hasn't worked itself out yet. Probably a better value buying a new base 992.2.
I’m buying this car but sadly have to go thru a broker as the 3 Porsche dealers closest to me in the S.F. Bay Area wouldn’t cut me any sort of deal even if I ordered it. Base with only 3 options. Bose, insulated glass, gentian blue.
Congrats on securing a discount. Can I ask what % discount you were able to obtain from the broker and how much you think they obtained themselves from the dealer? I’ve read Porsche sales down 7% YoY last quarter and dealers more motivated to push product (esp EVs)
Great comparison video. Thank you. At the moment, did you notice any difference in accelecation or turbo lag? 992.2 has bigger turbos those were in the 992.1 GTS. It might make more turbo lag, theoretically. Oh and did you feel any difference in braking? 992.2 has bigger brake pads and 6-piston caliper than 992.1.
It seems that people don't like full digital instruments, but the one in 992.1 was just non-sense compromise leaving only the rev meter analog. Because of that you could barerly see any data on the edges where the navi map was shown and some other information such as time and temperature. The one in 992.2 solves this problem. It's natural evolution and improvement. I did not read anywhere about the quiter sound in 992.2, but in this video it obviously seems it's indeed quiter. Thanks for video. You need to do quick one for exterior differences :)) Light signature and such.
I have the 992.1 turbo s cab. The .1 sounds much better than .2 without the extra catalytic (or other detune). My cabin noise is great for a daily driver but you do hear the engine. She wont drive it (everyone wins). Thanks for the review here on the .2.
Thank you Mike for this great comparison. When I test drove the new 992.2 I felt maybe a little stronger push from the turbos but also a little more lag. Btw I don‘t hear a pop off valve in my 992.1 T. Performancewise there was no noticeable difference. (edited; forgot the "no", sry)
Thanks. It is interesting that the pop off valve chirping is more pronounced in some 911‘s but I usually hear it letting off the accelerator with lower RPM.

.1 Definitely
Not a lot of love for the 992 - 991 was peak Porsche. 992, german taxi cab look and feel.
@@VK6AB- While many feel that the 997.2 is peak water cooled 911 over the 991. A 991 is quite large too.
Yeah thats why it sold record numbers
@@dragoshsd Uncertain as to which generation you are speaking of, but 997.2 production was low due to the world economy being in the toilet therefore literally making every variant of the 997.2 rather limited, especially when equipped with a manual transmission as PDK was launched in the fall of 2008 for model year 2009 and PCNA and their dealer network were pushing PDK heavily.
I have a 992.1 Carrera GTS with a manual gearbox. I have also HAD a 991.1 4S. My 992 is a far superior car than my 991 was.
@@bentleygucci Sorry, I disagree. The 3L turbo engines are awful and the interior is awful. The 991.1 GTS had a great engine and quality interior. The 992 is an accounts designed car.
the new 911 are really GT cars 💯. They are wonderful but all the connections to motor/road continue to be engineered out. it’s fitting you can no longer even see the motor.
Agree. 👍🏼
