Thanks Chase for reacting to that one for me also. She always sings live, never autotune. She does write her own songs too but are in her own language, also obviously nothing wrong with covers if you do them equal or better than the original. As she improved over the years she changes the originals with the Katrina stamp on them. I’ll defo be requesting more.
Did you notice how she sometimes holds the mic to the side so that it doesn't clip? She, and a few others, sing at such frequencies that some mics can't handle it.

Thank you, Chase! This version is my fave. It underscores the difference between plain and superlative belting when covered. And hers is the latter. Katrina’s highs, prolonged, and ascending notes are as extraordinary as her lows. This attempted rendition at Patti Labelle’s style is just splendid! A true musician CANNOT turn a deaf ear to her vocals. Watch her spliced live and studio version of “Golden Hour” by Jake, in her channel (Katrina Velarde Official).
