Still one of my favorite films. The acting, the sets, the costumes, the dialog, the horror of the killer child.
This film is a work of visual art
the actress who plays claudia did such an amazing job here
Is that Claire Danes?
@WinfreyWright i believe it's Kirsten Dunst
It’s KristenDundst
@brendawilkins9649 thanks. I'm bad at remembering names lol
It's a very young Kirsten Dunst. She was excellent in this
Can you believe the child is Kirsten Dunst? I was thinking they could have used their dresses as tents to shield them from the sun, but the vampires would have come in, noticed it and taken away the fabric prolonging the torture.
The fabric burnt as well. There was nothing left but ash.
Moreover, those evil vampires would have burnt too if they had tried to take their dresses 😂
@@rinowaters7156
Precisely.
When you hear Rice speaking of the origins of this story generally...the _true_ origin.....Claudia becomes the central figure, even in absentia.
And to say....she'd never seen him feed until this moment...makes this moment a strange 'seeing' of something that she, as his figurative daughter, should not see him doing.
I know its not in the story or the point since Claudia had to die, but I always wondered why they didn't think to use their dresses for cover. Their dresses are yards and yards of fabric, literal tents they could have survived
Its best to not think logically and to just enjoy the movie.
I was thinking the same thing, but it was probably just a matter of time. The vampires would have come in, noticed it and taken away the fabric prolonging the torture.
Yap, I also thinking about the same thing😅😅
Not the same film or universe but in the series What We Do In The Shadows, there is a new vampire girl that puts a motorcicle helmet and clothes thinking that it would protect her from the sun but when the sun came up, she started burning anyway despite the equipement 🤣 I like to think that if it were that simple, the vampires would've come up with something like this but i think that it would go through anyway.
I think the reason that they burn in the sun is because they are unclean or soulless. Just like a cross would burn them because they are Unholy. Clothing would not protect them. Most vampire movies that show vampires in a house during the day show they can't get anywhere near a window.
I love the Colors of those Victorian
Green & Blue Silk Dresses
So classy so elegant
Louis was punished for creating Claudia, who was punished for attempting to kill Lestat..Madeleine was in the wrong place at the wrong time
Magnifique vidéo d'entretien avec un vampire.
My favorite movie ever ❤
I swear every time I watch its sad... but I'm also thinking. "Wait.. you're BOTH wearing those HUGE Victorian style dresses- the ones with the multilayers and extra extension in the back- and you both chose dark colors... Just strip them off and hide underneath!!"
i remember my parents forcing me to watch this as a kid. still hate the sun
I would’ve loved if you’d shown when he found them burned to Ash why would you end it there?
If vampires can bend iron (which according to Rice, they can), then they can easily break basic rock. It is illogical that these two could not have easily clawed their way out of that pit.
Not all vampires have the same ability, and keep in mind Madeline was a newborn she knew very little about vampires.
Why didnt they use thier beyond human strengh to climb the wall when it was night? Guess they had to die for the sake of the story.
That is kirsten dunst who plays Claudia
This movie was perfect - the sequel a perfect Bullsh1t.
Beautyfull moments
Masterpiece
There was a scene filmed in St Alphege Church in Greenwich ,London.
This "the Sun cell" is not a decoration? So, what is made for in the past?
In the book, the vampires had no choice but to fall asleep when the sun rose. It was a compulsion even if they were inside under cover. Lestat’s mother (whom he had turned) chose to live wild and she’d bury herself deep in the earth before sunrise.
So the mirror trick didn't work
The strange facts of their deaths are interesting, you must read "The Vampire Armand" where He meets up with Louis and Claudia leading up to that fateful night. It is rather barbaric and clumsy yet for science's curiosity and morbidity of the time it does fuels the idea of this scene and how the figures should possibly have been or maybe it was proper for it. You've got to love Anne Rice's eloquent writings... the diaries musings and living of vampires. Much Love, Be Awesome Stay Excellent 🤍✨🦄
Can we get a movie where they survived 🤦🏽♀️
Den Film gerne auf Deutsch zeigen❤
4:09: I be confused onto how these stunt doubles don’t be hurting themselves
4:35: and also sentiago sucks at doing jokes and everyone’s giggles sound fake
It's time for justice little one (That part cracks me up everytime)
That’s awful she was just a baby
Lot of material in those dresses more than enough to cover them both.
So why did Armand or whatever allow this to happen but saved Louis? Love? Kinda seemed like he was infatuated.
So that he could pretend he didn't know it was happening and would win his loyalty by saving him from his imprisonment
Armand was obsessed with Louis, and was jealous of Claudia and his closeness. She was the last thing keeping Louis from going on a vampire boyfriend adventure with him. In the book Lestat just wanted Arman‘s help he didn’t want Claudia or Louis to get hurt, but manipulated the whole situation.
Elena Maria klein s ❤❤
The two of them, wearing enough cloth to hide a circus, couldn’t figure out how to shade themselves from the sun… Guess they WERE new at the vampire game…
Their captors surely would've noticed, and removed their clothing..Just saying....🤷
The clothes would NOT have saved them. They would have just baked in their silk "Tents". By the time Louis found them, EVERYTHING including their clothes were ash.
I don’t understand why she didn’t just hide the girl under her dress to protect her from the sun
The pure horror dances and mocks us in the original version but in the recent one it’s become Lestat’s duty 😂
And pls , these two versions are from two different universes ( not even worlds lol ) so comparing them is just pointless
Went to see this in the cinema in the 70s.Beautiful film ,but scary.
This film came out in 1994, was there perhaps a previous version?
what???
I will say again I was mistaken about the date🙄
@brendaflower7790 that's ok, we all make mistakes! (I certainly do!) I was just checking there hadn't been an earlier version.
@@janetbailey7115
This is the only film version of that novel.
Warum wird der Film nicht gezeigt?
Brad Pitt as a vampire ?!? I mean how many women would willingly march to death😂
For those asking why Claudia didn't claw her way out of that pit or bend the bar or hide under her dress. For being centuries old she wasn't that smart. Or at least smart enough to think about that. That said she more than likely had but considering that some of the vampires in that Den could read minds. As fast as she would have put that into practice the Paris Vampires would have come in and took them off.
What I would like to know is how did the vampires know that on that particular day the sun would beam straight down that hole. The sun doesn't take the same path each day. It would only shine strait down that hole maybe a couple weeks out of the year.
She was never trained properly to use her vampire abilities, plus the other vampires would hear and see her trying to escape.
@@Videobruh-x7s Pretty much what I said.
For vampires Claudia wasn't that old. She didn't have much time for her powers to develop. Even so, like I said before.
Some of the Paris vampires were mind readers. They would hear her thoughts before she even acted.
~
Further more....... What about the sun beaming down that pit. That sort thing would only happen for a few weeks out of the year.
Why did they kill that woman? She never did anything to anyone.
She was in the wrong place at the wrong time and I think she was just turned into a vampire.
Yes it is I S
I've watched this so many times, I still don't understand why the coven did this.
SPOILER ALERT AHEAD.
The coven upholds vampire laws. One of which is that a vampire is not to kill another of their kind which Claudia is guilty for breaking. And another law they believe in is that it's forbidden to turn a young child into a vampire which Louis is guilty of breaking.
@@theglitzqueen7993Antonio Banderas (I forget the vampires name) was also very jealous and wanted Louis for himself
@ Oh yeah that's true! So that makes even more sense of why Armand was looking to get rid of Claudia.
The book explains. It is vampire law to not turn children because they become little monsters like Claudia was and very hard to control. So she was first an illegal creation. Second, law is that a neoohyte or younger vampire could not turn on or kill their maker. Claudia and Louis went after Lestat and almost killed him. Their turning on him made them fugitives and pretty much every vampire would turn on them. Also if I remember correctly Lestat was the one that set up this coven so they owed him
@@BellaKarim23 imagine being that age your entire life and never being able to develop a normal woman's body. She would have sexual urges but who would want her other than a pedophile
They made a new one based after this movie and for some reasons beyond my understanding they had to include homosexuality in it which ruined the show for me
Thanks for the information. I won't watch it then.
Your loss ❤😊
"This week I saw the movie Interview with the Vampire. Here's my review: NOT GAY ENOUGH!" - Norm Macdonald 😂
They’re literally lovers in the books.
Then you OBVIOUSLY missed the homoerotic undertones of this movie and how both Lestat and Armand wanted Louis. THAT is what the vampire lore is all about and the movie TONED DOWN Lestat and Louis' relationship! In the book, they were lovers. Stop being a homophobic prig.
