This series of pedals deliver the most "amp-like" sound in a pedal format you will ever find! I also own an amp made by Kourbis and when I heard them side by side with it I just couldn't believe in my ears how close they are! Definately a must have for those tone seekers! Totally brilliant!

Kourbis pedals and amplification! Greece's best kept secret! I own a handbuilt 100 watt head and both the Plexivibe and Cockney Riot. Unparalleled level of craftsmanship and no boutique hype. Cannot recommend these enough.

Very good sounding preamp pedal!!! Nice to hear "Armed and Ready", it suits the sound. With Tube Screamer is pure NWOBHM! Oh, and in the name "Kourbis" the emphasis is on the last syllable, on the "bis", not on the "Kour". He's well known as an amp repairman and builder in Greece, I didn't know he's building pedals, too.

Been looking for something like this for years and years without end.
Already have H&K Tube Factor, H&K Tubeman and Mesa V-Twin preamp pedals with tubes plus Mesa Throttle Box-EQ as an sst-preamp pedal.
For anything Blackmore, YJM, Uli Jon Roth, Eric Johnson or Robin Trowers on a Strat and anything Gary Moore, Brian Robertson, Warren Haynes or Billy Gibbons on a Les Paul this is going to be tone heaven.
Blend this with the Mesa V-Twin,- put a Dod 250/ YJM OD in front of the Plexivibe and an MXR Custom Badass Modified O.D. in front of the V-Twin both going into each their own Engl Cabloader and you have Sykes with a Les Paul, Oliva with a Superstrat and Isaac Delahaye or Mark Jansen of Epica with a 7-String ESP/LTD LP or 7-string Ibanez/ Schecter Superstrat.

I would use that with the gain switch up for more gain and push it with an overdrive and or clean boost for lead and would rock out . It sounds great man .

I dunno Leon, there are a lot of positive comments here and you obviously enjoyed the pedal but I hated every tone demonstrated. Clangy and gratingly squeel-laden sounds throughout. Am I missing something?
There are no absolutes with this stuff - one man's mud is another man's clay I guess!
@@LeonTodd Indeed. Wasn't what I was expecting at all. I'm considering a change to tube overdrive and boost instead of the solid-state stuff I went with three decades ago as I've heard some really nice sounding pedals with great tone and dynamics. This pedal sounds like the high-gain tube amp front ends of thirty plus years ago that pushed me towards solid state stuff in the first place. Many found that sound desirable then, and clearly still do, but I was somewhat taken aback, I must say.
I seem to be narrowing my choice down to something from Effectrode, Tubesteader or the fantastic, but hard to aquire, Kingsley.
