I love tusk so much. I've been using their stuff on all my bikes and I'm super satisfied with my tusk crash bars on my 2022 KLR as well. Highly recommend these to anybody watching this video thinking about buying them!
I put these on my bike and it took a lot more work than this video shows. I recommend having a buddy or two to help. My new bike, never dropped, has some of the fairing frame pieces a little out of true. I had to lever the crash bar onto the frame mount bolts using two people. Once I got it into place everything tightened up appropriately and they are rock solid. I fully recommend these, just be prepared for a little more work on the install than the video shows.
Added these to my '22. had some difficulty with the lower bolts, would have been easier with a helper. I like them quite a bit However, it was missing hardware. I like TUSK parts, but I am always missing hardware.
Just fitted the uppers to my 2022 KLR yesterday. Fairly straightforward installation. I think these bars look better than the competition and they seem to be lower profile (which I like). I don't want to test them out but I hope they'll hold up.
Do the mowers come with the upper bars? Also did you notice any extra vibrations after install? I did the motech crash bars and it made my bike unridable.
So it appears that these won't work with the stock flood lights, they look like they will be in the way. Will these work with the stock side flood lights?
@RockyMountainATVMC I bought the exact same Tusk upper and lower crash bars as well as the same skid plate. I'm heading to Home Depot right now to find those longer bolts for the bottom. What is the exact size of the bolt that I'm looking for?
Just purchased a 2023. KLR S. On your first step removing those plastic guards. On my bike when leaving the dealer after purchasing it, those little plastic guards started vibrating which sounded like crickets so, immediately took it back to the dealer shop thinking my timing chain was lose. All they did was stuck a peice of rubber between the fairing and that plastic guard. But it still chirps on both sides 😖. They said it's just goes with KLR's. My previous 2021 no problem. I guess the only solution is to remove them ???
U need to add rubber, felt, piece of news paper like I did or anything like that, between the tank and the fairing, where they meet, that's what stopped mine from chirping
Unfortunately the lower CB’s aren’t compatible with most aftermarket skid plates, aside from the Enduro Engineering option. Found this out the hard way. Big letdown! I do like the Tusk upper CB’s very much. There isn’t much clearance between the upper bars & engine shroud fairings. I had to fabricate 3/8 aluminum spacers for more clearance.
I haven't tried the lower bars yet but I don't see them as being all that necessary. Maybe they are for more aggressive riders but they seem like overkill for me. I agree that the uppers are VERY good.
The crash bars are definitely necessary. Took a pretty rough spill in dirt going 40mph and just had to bend my rad brackets back a bit and replace plastics. No leaks or problems 10,000 miles later!

Thanks for the step by step instructions I appreciate it. Getting ready to install my new crash bars now 👍💯
Thanks for the video. Just installed a set on my 2024 KLR S. Very helpful
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.

Ordered uppers and lowers, and the tusk skid plate. Wrench & ride weekend coming up!
Not going to lie, I like the way the KLR looks with the fender down low like it's sitting in the video! Looks like a Tenere, or the toureg.

That's awesome! Glad you like them and thanks for giving us your feedback.

Will your upper crash bars work with Kawasaki fog lights installed?

I didn't see that you applied lock tight on the bolts. Do you recommend using loctight on the bolts?
Using a thread locker is not necessary.
I need to order a replacement center bracket.
Do the stock adventure crash bars fit with the tusk uppers and enduro skid plate?
Will the upper worth with Adventure models with T Rex skid plate?

I got a 23 to and the liscense plate light was loose and come to find out the stealership crammed some rubber graumets in there.

Now, if you just had them in stock....
No need to install anything because this bike is not going to Last long.
@vinniemax8274. Take your meds and go to bed.
