I bought one of these when Northern first listed them. It has been a great cart and a huge improvement over the metal garden carts I've been towing around. The quad tire arrangement is one of practicality for achieving the weight rating (which if anything is conservative) while maintaining the overall profile. Tire quality is not the best, as I've gotten two punctures from chestnuts on mine, while the ATV tires I run on my carts seem to be immune. On the other hand, I've never had to unload the cart and fix a flat in the field. Even fully loaded with oak logs it rolls home on 3 good tires just fine. One cautionary note is that loading it to the brim with the tailgate down will bow the sides so much the tailgate won't come even close to latching and using it that way will bend out the sides. This is even more inherent than a normal flat sided cart because of the sloped sides. Not a major problem, just something to think about when loading it. One last thing worth mentioning for those that plan on owning it a long, long time... this finish is far superior to any of the metal carts I've ever owned.

I believe Tractor supply carries the airless tire replacement for this cart at least in Michigan! I have a airless tire on my cheap cart they are two years and they seem to be fine!

    • @richardanderson2411

@@andrewsarles3520 Cheap tire replacement seems to be a basic fact of life with most carts. The factory 2 plys don't last long, so I've started using ATV tires instead. I haven't tried solid ones, except on my wheel barrows......which previously seemed to be always flat when I needed them.

@@kk5sc Not yet because I haven't had to. For my other carts I measured the axle and went to our local lawn mower/ATV grave yard and looked for a good fit. If going for a single rim wide-tire, spacing on the axle can be changed by making a spacer ending in a greased washer.

We have had the dual axle version of this one for about 3 years - tire tread is pealing as though tires are retreads - I'm not sure what we'll do once the tread comes completely off - I would like to switch over to wider ATV type tires. We had a flat on one tire immediately upon receipt and Northern warrantied the tire /wheel - couldn't just provide a tube. Recently we had another flat and hope a tube from Harbor Freight will work... other than that, we like the trailer - it and its chainsaw holders and side mounts have been great on our timber property.

Had mine for about a month. The bearings are only sealed on the outside for some reason. I used 2- 2 foot chunks of 2×3 steel tube to convert to "walking beam suspension". So much better. I agree about the tires being pretty cheesy. I'll install real hubs, wheels when they give out. For now I've pulled multiple full loads of firewood out of a riverbed. No complaints for the price.

Interesting cart. I wonder why they went with dualies instead of one bigger tire on each side. I know its nice if one tire goes flat but if one goes flat you still have something to ride on but I think I would rather have one fatter tire on each side if it were mine. Actually for firewood it holds up better than either of my tractor supply garden carts with solid bottoms (weight tears their thin sheet metal) and it doesn't hold water and rust (my carts get left out a lot). For rocks I'd put in some plywood, but wouldn't leave it in since that would hold water on the metal as well.

Jeremy & Jamie: have you done a video about your four wheeler? Is it a Yamaha? I would be very interested in hearing your feedback & recommendations about its capabilities and limitations. Especially when it comes to felling trees and hauling away wood and debris. And how does it do on non- flat terrain, and in brushy areas or tall grass? What about undercarriage clearance (do you get hung up easily?)? What about tires? Have you stuck with the factory tires or did you buy specialist tires? We’re preparing to start about 1-1/2 to 2 years work clearing and rehabilitating a large, mature, severely overgrown orchard in Hawaii and want to make the right vehicle purchase. I know you’re all hell bent for leather working on your beautiful house, but if you could put a four-wheeler trailer review on your content production schedule, I’d be very grateful! Thank you :)

You can pretty much bet that the rims were an off-the-shelf item not designed for this cart. Still it really is a non issue considering how often you don't have to grease it. you likely will have the tire off to fix punctures multiple times before you have to worry about grease. The tires are the weak point and when I get tired of dealing with it I'll just put different ones on it. All of my older carts have all had their el cheapo tires replaced with ATV tires, so dealing with changing rims/tires is no biggie for me. We've had our farm for 26 years and use carts multiple times a day and I've yet to retire one....I just keep fixing them.

You said it was sold by Northern Tool ... But you didn’t state the country of origin. From what I personally think are design flaws, I have to question whether this is another Chinese product.

Elexus T ... That has nothing to do with ‘where’ the product was actually designed and manufactured.

All the Bannon utility trailers are China made, thats why the tires are odd size and junk. After reading some of the reviews, it seems that the tires are a major complaint.

Nice trailer; the wheels are a bit strange. I don't suppose they could put both the valve stem and the grease nipple 180° apart on the same side of the wheel, or use a standard sized wheel. This is where the value of playing Tetris becomes apparent. Those wheels remind me of that old (what was it, a Pinto? a Vega? I can't remember anymore) car you had to pull the engine to change the oil. Terrible design.
What about a cant hook or log peavey? At least up here in the PNW, I'd want another long tool holder for my cant hook. Simeon over at Swedish Homestead has a can hook/peavey/log stand 3:1 tool, if I remember rightly.

The LogOx is a cant hook broken down into 2 pieces. (In the bag)

Welcome to 2022: this trailer is now $800 (vs $500 when this video was filmed) and they’ve stripped away all the tool holding accessories.

They sure made it heavy duty yes I don’t understand the poor tire concept and they could’ve just went with one bigger tire they made the whole tire system a real pain in the ass to do maintenance
